Toontown Corporate Clash 1.2 Review - The Overclocked CLO

- In today’s video I give my full thoughts on the 1.2 update from Toontown Corporate Clash. It shows off a brand new harder version of the clo along with some other changes. However will this update be cool or nothing that good.

Pretty good review! I just finished watching and I felt the need to mention my thoughts here.
I should start by saying I’m coming from the perspective of a slight Toontown tryhard, and if we’re being real with ourselves, before this update Toontown lacked the challenge to really captivate more serious players like me. But after the 1.2 update released, I really fell in love with playing Toontown again. No more mindless sound combos, I actually had to put in some effort to learn and understand the meta of the new fight. It was such a breath of fresh air for me. The new SOS cards made getting used to the boss quite tough at first - but I adored that challenge. It’s a feeling I’ve honestly never gotten with Toontown before.
Now on the surface, it definitely may seem that the new SOS card system is far inferior to the old one, but I’ll cut to the chase on why they NEEDED an overhaul: Imagine spamming original Barnacle Bessie cards on the Litigation Team. The fight would be a complete joke, and would take away that difficultly that I craved so much from Toontown. Once you adapt to the new system, it’s honestly a pretty effective way to fight strong cogs, in a way that doesn’t feel completely broken (it’s the same reason they removed the original AOE Level 7 gags). The only thing it affects in a major way I’d say are solos, and I can’t weigh in too much on that point because I’m a person who doesn’t care about solos at all, so my bias is too strong there.
I consider 1.2 to be the greatest Toontown update of all time, which is purely my opinion based on the fact that I’m a Toontown tryhard, and pre-1.2 practically carried no challenge at all with it. I can definitely understand the perspective of more casual players, where this difficulty would seem preposterous to them if they were already okay with how Toontown’s difficulty was pre-1.2. Your criticisms of things like the 30 second door message and the scarcity of OCLO groups are completely valid. Heck, even your frustration with how difficult the boss is makes a decent amount of sense to me. But as someone who completed it near 100 times, I can say that I thoroughly enjoyed grinding out OCLO’s with my friends. The difficulty is what made it genuinely fun for me. I never really felt that excitement with anything pre-1.2, and it’s why I always say this is the update that made Toontown fun again.
At the end of the day, opinions are opinions and I understand where you’re coming from. I want to ask you: What are you looking for in a Toontown update? If you think 1.2 was “okay”, I’d like to hear what kinds of additions to Toontown that you’d be REALLY impressed with. Let me know because I’m definitely interested!

You know that's actually a good point that Field Offices are pretty easy. But I actually prefer the smaller things in Toontown moreso than a challenging experience. Or visuals and sounds I guess.

This is a well created video and great editing, however I am very surprised to see your struggle still in OCLOs. I’ve played OCLO since day 1 and it took 30-40 fights before I died. The battle is extremely easy once you know what to do and the final round is pretty easy as soon as you understand the patterns. My friend King Pants even created a series of runs for making the run harder, because we all felt the fight itself was too easy after a while. We felt thrilled and challenged initially when we all went in blind and thought ourselves that we would never fight the battle in toon hq groups bc it needed too much coordination, but we quickly found that once you understand the battle, it becomes pretty trivial. I can explain every last detail of the fight, even down to high level strats such as taunt blocking to avoid tornadoes, and would love to talk to you sometime to improve your gameplay for the future in ttcc :) I’m sure there’s plenty of things that I could show you that you may find very interesting.

tho for the oclo i would recommend you to go with at least 120 laff (if you dont wanna use tu unites) you can easily grind that laff with activities in 1 day and it gets you i think it was 12 laff
for golfing just take an alt or a friend to let you win and do the 3 hole ones
for trolley get a friend or alt and skip till you get tag, tug of war or cannon
for racing go to blizzard with 4 people or friends to let you win
and for fishing buy the best rod and go to the brrrgh
you can also max sellbot pretty quick you can duo a factory with just sound
as for your gags you should really max toonup and drop, you can bring a friend and just squirt drop a cog, also unpres squirt and prestige toonup, having max pres toonup will ensure you are always the one with full laff :P
idk if the game has changed but i remember that with max drop you can use lure squirt an mgr sos accuracy up and sos bessie then quad drop the mgr and you can deal 4200 damage (or 4700 if all pres) in 3 turns (if you tank and unite) basically killing one mgr
as for the reward i totally agree it sucks like why did they bring back the most hated reward that nobody wanted (summons) and give it to a hardmode boss?
they should of just kept it for temporary minibosses and given the oclo a more powerful reward aleast it would motivate people to do more oclos after they maxed
but as for now all the elitists already maxed their oclo and since the reward sucks nobody is gonna go back for it meaning new people wont be able to get groups to oclo
basically the oclo is an update for all max ppl to rush in max their suit and never to be played again

Sellbots, but not before a big "toony" update. 1.3 will NOT be based around the cogs for the most part, I'm calling it.

Personally I think the OCLO is fun, and is one of the things I enjoy doing the most in corporate clash. However, it's largely just because of the litigation round. Everything else really could've used some fine tuning that the devs just outright refused to do. I'm sure it's because they didn't want the boss to be easier, but it's important to understand that difficulty doesn't automatically equal a good experience, especially if said difficulty comes cheap. One run phase 4 could go smoothly, another run you'll get targeted by every obstacle and have to use multiple unites, there's no balance

I look back at this now, and think:
Oh my poor boy, if you thought this was difficult, working on that 1.3 video has probably been painful. Then again, he's probably gotten better at the game since 1.2
Late comment, but I think he's actually acknowledged that he thinks this entire video was stupid and he looks back on it terribly, because he was horribly unprepared for the fight (and the game kept warning him of such) but he went in anyway and struggled.
He's almost certainly learned his lesson and won't make the same mistake again. He was even hesitant to criticize overclocked face the family because he was worried he'd come off the same way, though honestly that was a mode in need of balance changes. This year did provide that to an extent.
Couldn't have said it better myself. I plan on redoing this video sometime this year, I could've done a better job covering this update.

Eventually, I’m still working on the update. I’m currently like burnt out with clash atm from how much I’ve been playing it. I hope to pick up the game soon since I only have 2 more playgrounds to do but will see what happens.

Seriously though, I can understand people have different levels of skill and whatnot, but 15 or so attempts to beat your OCLO seems a bit much, personally I beat it first try, and started to find the boss very easy after that, only dying once more in the 44 or something OCLO’s I’ve done

In reality though this is a well made video, but you missed a lot like the EXE suit progression system and directive updates. Also the OCLO panders to those who’ve already maxed and still want to play challenging toontown, you were running all the OCLOs in this video with a 92-102 laff toon which in most cases won’t work. The rewards from the other bosses are expected before because the OCLO was setup to be done after you’ve done everything else, so you have stockpiles of them, overall I just believe that you really rushed to make this review as a whole, and though I enjoyed the content I think you need to look at the OCLO with the other people playing toontown in mind and not just yourself (that came off hostile mb)

I think by calling the OCLO " just okay " is just putting it lightly. I think it's hot garbage. Take every negative thing you've said about the update by far, and multiply it by 40. Yep, they expected us to do this boss FOURTY TIMES. While miles better than the original 82, doing one of these bosses make me suffer. I'm not gonna waste my life getting a group on toonhq, or friend only groups, to then fight the boss for something to go haywire and have alllll that progress go down the drain. If Clash at least listened to criticism, the boss would be more bearable to grind.
You nailed all the bad parts about the OCLO perfectly, and I mean perfectly, words cannot describe how relieved I am to hear someone finally giving Clash the Criticism they deserve for ruining endgame toontown content.
I don't agree fully with everything you said though, I personally believe the new Gag GUI should have been optional, they say it's impossible to use the old one with these changes but uh, that didn't stop them before when they introduced cheats. I also disagree with what you think about the Litigation Team's designs. Don't get me wrong 3/4 of them are cool looking. One of them looks like a PS1 model, take a good guess at who it is.
Anyways, Keep up the good work Anthony. And I await for field offices once again, and I know you'll give the TTR team valid criticism towards the boss. ( even if it happens to be a few months late )
Only a few months...
It may be closer than you think. Even then whenever it comes out, it'll likely be very worth it.
