Very cool Ralph! awesome collection of pewter. wow. i can never find any around here. I think hulk is my favorite but the halloween ones are pretty fun too.
That looked like a lot of fun and seeing you do it in a pot gives me the ideas thats it the way to go for a beginner like me to try at first then maybe move onto lead , as a huge skull fan and collector i love the skull out of the small blue mold they look awesome enjoyed watching very satisfying ........................... Thumbs Up and shared to FB
Hey Ralph missed some video's! Seems I was unsubscribed for some reasons.... sorry for that 😪 pretty weird. I got your mail with stickers and thought, "hey why haven't I see video's for some time?" Then I saw the subscribe button on you page. I am back and that is the most important ✌🏻🔥🔥 Thanks a lot for the stickers, they came out really well and are beautiful. Will get in the furnace... woops, I just woke up, I mean safe ofcourse soon😅. Also thank you a lot for the very kind letter coming with it. You are a great person Ralph👊🏼
Good to know that the stickers arrived, I think I sent out over 50 envelopes around the world a few days ago. Weird how you sometimes get unsubbed from channels, heard it happens to many people, oh well, now you have some videos to binge watch 😋👍
Indeed, unfortunatly the editing of this was a mess compared to the casting 😅 after a week of editing and re-editing and re-re-editing I kind of gave up and this is what it became, at least I got rid of the huge pile of pewter and ended up with some nice shapes 👍👊
@@ralphmourik I need to start putting some of my work together "better", for the last few and the next few, more just 5min vid's on what I got done. Some of that is due to just not filming well through the process, others has to do with lost video and others just has to do with time!
Well I am actually getting a big pile of envelopes ready to send out stickers this week, if you email me your shipping address I'll add you to the pile 😁👍
Over here 2nd hand shops and flea markets are full of the stuff, sometimes way to expensive even, luckily I also get some of the stuff for free through friends and contacts, Thanks for watching and commenting 👍👊
Melting and casting Tin and Pewter is So much fun!!! But harder and harder to come by ...(it is still out there if you know where to look 😉) I used to have a free source of "pure" Tin via my old job - but sadly it's not as easily available anymore...😒 Any ideas about reusing / deoxidizing the dross? 🤔 Also what type of silicone are the molds made of? Great stuff and great Great vid !!! As always - Melt Happy & Pour Safe!!! 👍😎
The molds are just bought on Amazon or Wish or Ali expres, most silicone will hold up to about 500C I was able to cast Zinc in them without any problems. I do keep the dross from the pewter, when I get a big pile I'll remelt it to recover whatever good pewter that is still in there. Don't think much can be done about the oxidized stuff though. Thanks for watching and commenting 👍👊
It kind of does, but I record everything with my phone, so its not that I think. Weird thing is that when I play the original recording on my pc using VLC player it sounds fine, only when inserted into the editing software it starts crackling, never happened before... 🤔 oh well ... Thanks for watching and commenting 👍
@@ralphmourik interesting its the earth on your pc then record and playback enter different parts of the sound card remember card might need reseating in the pc field change san to change it, like a fan on your desk or something new that gone near pc but that would give you a hum. you could use sound editing software like Audacity run a pop crackle filter on it and find your peak values of you phone mic when talking... my old favored sound edit years ago was cool edit i thing the above or Microsoft got it off the makers
