Quick demo of this MARLIN Sidewinder 'strat' style guitar.
I believe these were the top selling guitars in the world for a year or two in the late 1980's and were hugely popular.
This one has a humbucker at the bridge and is available now from DEBEN MUSIC, Felixstowe.
Thanks to Coffeebreakgrooves for the backing track.

I owned one of these in the late 80's... I still regret selling it. The beginning of decent, affordable, modern electrics.

I had a silver one, bought it in 1988. I learned a lot on it but it was a heavy lump

Got a cherry red one with the humbucker replaced but the original still with it. Great sounding budget guitar and they look great with the gloss 🤘

My first! It played better than most actually. Including the big names.

That pickguard shape is now on some Patrick James Eggle '96 guitars. Do a comparison and you will notice it's the same.

That's a k-34 the second iteration with a humbucker in the neck but an early one still as it has the marlin at the 12th I believe 86 they dropped it and went with double dots

The Marlin inlay was not removed until August 1988:

Mike it's a strange one that wiki says they dropped the marlin logo Aug 88, but if I'm reading right also says stopped production 88, so does that mean there was a few month runout period before 89 using double dots, that would make them realy rare...... Of to ebay lol

@@mikey1981g Well, not quite; in 1989 the production switched from Samick to Cort. I believe Cort kept making Sidewinders for a few years. Also, these guitars were mass produced, so even within a few months they would produce thousands.
