There were soooooo many things that...if ONE ONEEEE OF THEM happened we win. Hartzog scores on pick 6, we score from the 1 yard line, the refs dont screw us over on like 3 plays and 30 seconds on the clock right before halftime. Any one of those and we win and we couldn't get one of them to happen or go our way
With the targeting and catch the only thing I can think of is if the targeting penalty is like a pass interference penalty. Where if you accept the penalty it can negate anything after the penalty.
We DID control the clock BUT we only got 5 of 16 on 3rd downs. That's 5 of our 18 1st downs were on 3rd down - gotta get better at 3rd down conversions.
Raiola managed the offense well! Just made that true freshman mistake on that INT at the end of the game. (But that's part of being a true freshman QB - that pay off down tge road, here).
He's missed a lot of open receivers. But that's ok he's a true freshman as long as he's continuing to learn and grow I'm good with it just don't get him hurt.
Marcus Satterfield resume I think tells the whole story of his coaching. Coaching career · Temple · Tennessee Tech · Baylor · Carolina Panthers · South Carolina
We allowed TWO big passing plays, including a 60-yarder. THAT was costly. I know the circumstances BUT we can't just accept that ANY team is just going to automatically get certain things when we play them.
The red zone failures are on play calling. Satterfield has no idea wtf to do when we get down there. He's shown a few creative plays, but for the most part, his red zone play calling is trash.
@@Brett_Nebraska which is frustrating because a few times satt has shown there are some creative, unique calls in the book. The 2 point conversion was awesome.
@@tysoncrosby3915 yep exactly...and i watch multiple multiple other games all day every Saturday.. literally not even average teams struggle like our offense does its insanity.
@@Brett_Nebraska it's wild because running the ball on the edges was working, but the middle run game wasn't. The middle was there in the pass game but the edges weren't. Satt was convinced to run up the middle and throw screen stuff on the edges.
I'm sorry but I disagree with eliminating replay. I think there should be limitations, and the contours of that are debatable. But it cannot be the case that the unaccountable refs make glaringly obvious errors and ommissions that all of us see on TV and on the jumbotron. We've SEEN how bad the refs are this year and that's with replay... imagine how f*ckt we'd be if they were completely beyond reproach.
If we can get an offensive coordinator that can scheme and develop players as well as our defensive coordinator maybe we actually win these top 25 match-ups. Matt Rhule needs to find his balls and make some decisions on offense and hire someone that isn't a friend.
Officiating is bad and it's not just a Nebraska thing. It's bad in all conferences and all games I've watched. Refs need to be trained and follow the same interpretation of the rules across the whole division, not handled by conferences. And they should be full-time, year-round jobs given how much damn money the sport has now.
It was ruled a catch and fumble. Which is honestly the correct call IMO, however I'm not a referee. But if you look at the targeting rule, this is part of it. A player attempting to catch a forward or backward pass, or a player who has completed the catch but hasn't had ample time to protect themselves If the player crouches before making a tackle to create maximum force✓ If the player leads with their helmet, shoulder, forearm✓, fist, hand or elbow to attack with forcible contact the head or neck area of an opposing player. He hit banks in the facemask with his forearm. Also. How is it a sideline warning during a dead ball??? Should absolutely have been an unsportsmanlike penalty.
Raiola didn't have a TD pass in all of October. Inexcusable for a QB of his talent to not have a TD for a whole month and that falls directly on Satterfield with his scheme and play calling.
How about no holding calls on OSU the entire game when replay shows D backs grabbing shirts right in front of a ref, O linemen with their arms wrapped around our D line. Three penalties for pass interference is all we got out of the zebras.
OC has got to go. Pay the money and get someone in there that understand the screen pass is not the go to when you have a chance to knock off The Ohio state.
Yep let’s start the conspiracy that something’s wrong with his arm because he’s not throwing the way you expect him to. You’re part of the problem with Husker fan culture, not the solution.
Have you not seen him pass lately? It's obvious he hasn't played like he has the beginning of the season. It's totally reasonable to suspect he has a injury. You seem to have some issues.

I appreciate the multiple Shawshank Redemption references in this episode. Such a good movie, and Husker fans have been in prison for a while now!
Nick's impressions are funny af 😆. You guy's both are hilarious. Damn pretty crazy we should've won vs Ohio State Ruuuuuuuuuuudddeee!
We controlled the tempo. We held Ohio State's high-powered offense to only 285 total yards! That's really good!
31:49 is gold
I think the clip of the game was Ty Robinson celebrating with Dowdell in the endzone.

Our defense made some key stops. Our offense dominated time of possession (35 minutes). THAT, too, is really good!
Their were key moments where our O-Line struggled to protect Raiola - that stopped a few drives that we could have otherwise sustained.
This is a team capable of winning out or losing what’s left of the schedule.
GBR

John Hohl made 3 FGs - including that 54-yarder which kept us in the game at the half!
Dowdell WAS ABLE to run in a TD IN THE 4th QUARTER!
(Soecial emphasis on the 4th quarter part).
I think if HH played especially in the second half in the redzone maybe it would be different
Marcus Satterfield resume I think tells the whole story of his coaching.

Our offense WAS ABLE to sustain some drives. Offense had 18 1st downs (Ohio State had only 11).
Basically, it's better execution im the red zone and more conversations on 3rd down. Do that and out overall scoring will increase.
Where’s the UCLA preview show?

A guy sees a baseball he's just gotta grab it
November will tell us which Husker team is real - confident it's the one we saw on Saturday.
The league will just screw Nebraska
I stepped out of the room on Neyors overturned catch in the first quarter. Thought it looked fine, what did the review end up saying?
Satterfield put that offense in an awful spot on that final drive. He is facilitating the “here we go again” mentality.
Gents, thought banks might have had his knee down in that last drive but I could be wrong

Exactly..once we get to the 35 yard line we absolutely implode

He's such a goof..😂
Well, there is encouragement, IF they continue to play this way. If they come out and pull an IU game against UCLA, then the encouragement is gone.
Satterfield's game strategy. Run, Run Screen Run Run Screen, Pass Run Screen.. not good

Fire Satt, Foley, and McGuire like yesterday…
Instant Replay has allowed mediocre referees to be hired when in the past they would have been laughed out of the room.
Nebraska needs to learn how to play up to their own level, not play to opponents level.
OC has got to go. Pay the money and get someone in there that understand the screen pass is not the go to when you have a chance to knock off The Ohio state.
Swing passes do I need to say anymore.
Satterfield is a horrible OC and needs to be let go. He is killing this offense with his stupid play calls.

To add he did go to the blue tent after what wasn't much of a hit.
So many fans are like that. 😂😂😂
