For me, this is the saddest part of Pillowbook. What Donghua did is a betrayal of FengJiu's trust. It is almost the same as when Yehua took BaiQian's eyes. The only difference was that Yehua have no choice while DongHua did it out of jealousy.
Even tho ive seen then entire series multiple times i still cry at this scene. You can feel FJ’s pain as raw as day. The hurt and betrayal she felt, especially having worked so hard to get the fruit but the Dijun just gave it to the other biiiitch, especially when FJ’s goal is so noble and sweet. Definitely really hated Dijun when the basket of peaches were given instead of the pimpon fruit. Her excitement, happiness crushed and turned into painful betrayal in a split second
I must say I was very angry and frustrated at Donghua in this episode! I can’t believe he did that to her, I usually understand and find kinda cute in a childish way , the petty things he does when he’s jealous but this was just too much. She worked so hard for that prize and he knew how much she wanted it and she won it fair and square in front of everyone and all and he had the audacity to give her reward to another girl who did nothing for it and even was using magic on Yan to try to cheat in the competition. She won it fair and square and he was supposed to give her the pimpón fruit and not switch it out for some damn peaches, I know he didn’t know what she wanted them for but considering she won it then she is entitled to do whatever the hell she wants with it. Even if it wasn’t to bring Qingti back to life and it was just to make herself look youthful forever or even to make pastries with it , he still had to give it to her.

I feel sad for feng jiu the pimpon fruit was the only way she could save her friend but because of his jealousy dong hua gave that fruit to ji heng and feng jiu worked very hard for the fruit 😭😭😭

@@shweta_V. I think this is the part where all of us wanted to choke him. He did everything to hurt her in this part then at the end he still took the disease from JiHeng. He watched while JiHeng was using magic to try to kill her then at the last minute he stops her picks her up and carries her out then just agrees to give her the fruit. This not only was a betrayal but the most painful to watch when the man you love picks up the enemy and carries her away. And then to add more hurt finds out that he's given what rightfully belongs to her to the enemy. Loved it when Yan went to stand up for his friend. Even though Yan loved JiHeng he was mad because the Emperor just casually handed over the fruit to her. Now that's a devoted friend.
He didn't give it to her because he was suspicious of what she needed it for, That's why he gave it to Ji Heng instead of Feng Jiu. But as you know that Dong Hua knows who she is, you will learn how he gains her trust back.
