I recently discovered your excellent channel after renting an X2D. One of my concerns if I was to purchase is having to send the camera off to Sweden for repairs or one of their lenses to Japan. I have heard the lenses can take weeks or months for a repair. Can you speak to the reliability of the camera & lenses? And if they needed repair, how long did it take? Thanks in advance and keep doing the very informative videos. Some of the best I have viewed on TH-cam.

I am in a situation that o need to get one of the doors on the side to be fixed, came off, lost, the frame with the spring is now temporarily fixed with tape! An absolute pain, and Hasselblad is not very service oriented! 😢
Just ordered this for my systems. Just to play with it as I have other Hasselblad lens at this focus length. But I like playing with wide apertures. Thanks for the review. Really useful !
Providing you don’t move the camera during exposure, and you don’t shoot moving subjects, it’s fine. I did another video about using manual lenses with this camera, which covers everything.

@@stellusctf6479 My pleasure, Stellus. You can use Leica M-mount and R-mount lenses. M-mount lenses are available from Leica, Voigtlander, Zeiss, TTArtisan, and a few others. These are all a compromise in one way or another (sensor coverage, no autofocus, manual aperture, etc.). Watch the video I mentioned - there’s a link in the video description.
Compared to the Voigtländer with lens hood, shooting with the TTArtisan lens without a lens hood was a disadvantage. You can see that in the pictures. The contrast provided by the Hasselblad zoom lens is superior to the others.
@@georgb.920 You’re absolutely right. I should have removed the hood from the Voigtlander for those sequences. Mind you, it may have just been the position of the sun through the trees during the TT images that put it at an unfair advantage.
I sold the noctilux 0.95 and used this TTartisan simply because I need more money to fund for my xcd 35-75 and the sacrifices iQ between TTartisan Vs Noctilux is minimal . A decision that I don’t regretted.
Ah I was able to scoop up a 55v directly from Hasselblad. It originally said 20 days to shop but I actually got it within a week! I have the 135mm with 1.7 tc too. Last lens I get will be a wide one like a 21 or 28.
Interesting video Peter, I struggled with the Artisan lenses I bought (needed manual focal range adjustment) but in another note, my X2D had a little mishap, the folding door for the charge port came off, during a walk, and since the holder is springmounted I used tape to hold it in place! An absolute pain trying to get it fixed! 😢
I think it would great on the Fuji GFX system with it's focal plane shutter - but I won't be interested in a lens without a leaf shutter - one of the reasons I bought the X2D in the first place
I've been using the 0.95 on my camera for a while now, its soft a .95 but to be honest so is the competition. For the money it's an amazing lens. I've a few 7artisans and ttartisans lenses now. They're doing a great job of copying old lenses.
@@peterfritzphoto I have on my 51mp GFX. I’m not sure how it holds up on 100mp, but on mine it’s pretty good. It’s sharper than I thought it would be at 1.4. Has some chromatic aberration though.
@@peterfritzphoto I don’t have experience with those unfortunately. The only macro lenses for GFX I have tried is the Pentax and Mamiya 645 120mm macro lenses. I had both but only kept the Pentax one. I like it a lot. (Though the Mamiya one had a little less CA I think. I think both are good, especially for the price.)
Fun video! But at the end of the day is does not feel right to shoot with a fullframe lens on a medium format camera. However, it is understandable considering the price and avaliability of the native glass.

If one were willing to pay the hefty price for the X2d, why not spend the extra 5k for the 35-75? If I could afford it, I would undoubtedly buy both. @@ScottymanPhoto Some people buy the X2D and just a couple of primes - often for environmental portraits or architecture. For them, the 35-75 is just too big and heavy. For me, though, it’s perfect. And I can never stop at just two lenses! Thanks for the unwavering support, mate. 👍🦘

@@peterfritzphoto Shure, flaring is just one of many traits that can make a lens worth buying. My most favorite lens the 105 1.4 by Sigma is realy delicate regarding grazing light... Its (apart the the weight) the only flaw for me and i still love my big baby boy of a lens. And i personaly think the tt lens is clearly ment to be used for portrait or environmental portrait shottings and not for product photography (in uncontrollable light situations). And as you said flaring can give a charm.
@ I must admit, I don’t strive for optical perfection these days. Almost everything you can buy is very good or excellent, that a few minor imperfections don’t trouble me.

Improvise Adapt Overcome . I've bought n use more non Canon lenses . Recently bought my 5th Samyang a 14mm F2.8 MF For my 5DSR .. There is nothing wrong with using non branded lenses . Especially when it saves you money . I'd love to own 500,600 or even the 800 but the 2nd hand prices are unrealistic !! . Am still surprised that Hassleblad still has no 500/600 , 800 zoom / primes lenses released ..still haven't seen anyone on youtube use one for Macro , Wildlife etc I'd be using it for the Cruise ships , Yachts , Tankers etc on the Clyde
I have a video coming up soon using the 35-75 with an extension tube for macro. It works beautifully! But yes, I'd love a 500mm lens for the X2D! I'm not using both kidneys right now.
The extremely strong field curvature of this lens - which will be even more obvious on MF - is what prevents me from cashing out and just buy this lens. Bassically, wide open at medium distance or full body shots, you only have real bokeh in the middle of the image. Towards the edges the image gets almost into focus again into the background behind your subject. So at F0.95 it's only F0.95 in the middle and more like F8 at the rest of the image. For close up head shots like in this video, it won't be noticeable. It's a shame, but I guess it's the downside when you make such a small 50/0.95. You need a huge 50/0.95 like the Nikkor Z to have a perfect image, just on full frame, let alone on MF.
@@caleidoo There’s certainly a bunch of compromises necessary, but for some people, it’ll be ideal. I found the bright aperture less of a reason to buy than its performance at sensible apertures - like f/2 and up.

If you are doing this you don’t need the X2D. The X1D ii would make more sense as it’s much cheaper and just do manual focus.

Maybe, yes. Their lenses are bloody good value. I've been trying their 100mm f/2.8 macro on my R6 MKII, and it's fabulous.
The TTArtisan flaring gave the lens away at the carshot.

It's not Hasseblad's sensor, they just bought it over at Sony.
I'm aware. Same with FujiFilm. But the sensor is the starting point; what they do with it is unique to each brand.
