- In a heart-wrenching incident at a private medical college in Lahore, a student’s apparent suicide has sparked outrage among fellow students and parents. The college administration’s alleged mistreatment and negligence have led to a protest by students and their families.
The incident involves a female student who tragically took her own life. Her parents have accused the college administration of mistreating their daughter. According to their claims, the student was subjected to humiliation, had her hair forcibly cut, and was even made to remove her abaya (traditional Islamic attire). Additionally, offensive language was reportedly used against her.
The protest outside the college premises intensified as students raised their voices against the alleged misconduct. Holding placards and chanting slogans, they demanded justice for their fellow student. The college administration has issued a notification regarding changes in rules, stating that Professor Tabassum will no longer be involved in disciplinary matters. The policy on leaves and attendance will now align with the University of Health Sciences guidelines, and penalties will be reconsidered.
The administration assures that students will not face psychological or financial pressure and that their concerns will be addressed. Representatives from each batch will keep the administration informed about any issues faced by students. The college aims to prevent situations that lead to protests.
As investigations continue, the tragic loss of a young life serves as a stark reminder of the importance of mental health support and compassionate treatment within educational institutions. 6 years(BS+MS Physics) in GC never any male or female teacher sahiban raised their voice on us❤ I always say our university ( specially our department) is heaven for students..... Never seen any case of misbehave between students and teachers almost 85% students wear abaya and female staff on gate entrance check to assure they are wearing uniform under abaya then it's fine no abuse for wearing abaya, our head of department Dr.Sahab always call us "beta/bache" that's why we always pray for our teachers may ALLAH bless them with good health, My personal opinion is "the abusive behavior with students is mostly in private universities"..... Good to see students are raising their voice for righteous but it's all in vain until CM Punjab take any strict action against administration.

@@noorfatimakhan2101 in 2017 I was near to make a wrong decision of MBBS but luckily I got an escape due to entry test system, they said test was leak out so they will conduct test few days later , meanwhile I applied in physics, botany and English and got in merit list for physics and now I'm very happy for not re-attending entry test.
You should try your best and hard to get a seat in public medical college otherwise chose private medical college wisely coz there's already many threatening cases of private medical colleges..... All the best for your future, but before applying in any college do contact their students/ seniors to know about college environment and teachers attitude towards students coz your safety should be first priority.
