It's always the guy who deserves millions of views for a piece of information that was so simple. You Doug are the guy. Thank you so much for making life easier.
Great Video bro! I am producing a project with a deadline and I was using the MPC plugin and for production its a complete headache. Constant crashes, lost files etc. Your way is the best by far.... The plugin is good for recording pre-programmed content but, for programming (repeat looping and moving around quickly).... Horrible. Thanks man!!
Man that was driving me crazy. Thanks bro. Because I’m a drummer. I was trying to play my Roland TD 50 E kit and sync my MPCX and write at the same time on the fly.
Bro It'd be helpful if you showed us the inputs cause pro tools won't pick up Audio coming from my MPC. There is signal, but when I click on record, all heck breaks loose.
So you're going through a MIDI interface and an Audio interface? I just got a midisport 2x2 midi interface trying to do this same thing but with MPC Live into Logic. Would love to see how you're hooked up from your MPC to your interfaces into your computer! Seems like I'm going to need an Audio interface too...
Hey Doug, if I wanted to just use the MPCX as a plugin instrument on a Protools insturment track would I always have to route to other separate audio tracks? The actual instrument track with the MPCX plugin on it wont record anything . THx BUd.
Hey doug, so this lets you use the mpc live as a standalone for audio(ie. Drums, samples, etc.) And midi for controlling plugins in the pro tools software(ie. Xpandi)?
Thanks for the video! I have had issues with midi sync, pro tools 8, and mpc 2000xl years ago, but somehow got it. Anyhow, I’m trying to sync the mpc live with pro tools and I’m close, but it ONLY plays sound when I hit stop. When I hit play on PT it plays both the mpc live and plays in PT, but no sound. Only when I hit stop it briefly plays the beat. Any advice?? Thanks!
Hey Bro Can you do a video on how to Make the MPCX Control Protools. Check this out While Making tracks on your MPCX I won’t the Protools to Follow the MPCX. Like If I had Vocals already on Protools And I wanna make the track
that's why it is all ways good to make your hardware master and software slaves, I experience the same out of sync problem back in the earlier days with mpc and protools
@@superchickensuperchicken7939 That’s true and untrue. Pending if you won’t your audio preamp or not. Most of us it looking for that big analog sound. But I feel you on bouncing down to audio steams. But then here come’s another problem call spending more money like on Apollo 16X and Dangerous Music to push that analog back into your DAW. Or Slate Plug’in. if there’s a better way i’m listening. Because we’re al going to need therapy for this crap we’re spending.
if you want the big analog sound you need a 32 channel analog console plus analog outboard gear to get the big analog sound. this is why they gave you 8 outputs on the X, use each stereo out as a stereo bus... or take the bounced audio tracks to a big studio and they can run the audio tracks thru their analog console and analog outboard gear to get a big analog sound or track every thing to tape using your 8 outs on the x using stereo bus method since you only got 8 outs on the X.. there are many ways to get a big analog sound and don't forget 12 bit on the x, because that is really what analog sound is, it is 12 bit even the 2 " tape is 12 bit quality.....
Why the hell can't the MPC receive clock over usb without the need for the plugin. This is so god damn stupid. Thankfully I have the midi interface but I can't believe this is essential.

Thank you so so much! this video helped me alot to sync my pro tools system to an old 1992 Tascam M3700 and write computer control automation!!!
I need this 15 years ago ❤
Just received my MPC Live, this really helped me, thanks!!

Great video, first video that explains how to adjust midi clock use the grid. Thanx
nah bro this counter productive
Dang, that is awesome. Definitely cleans up the workflow and let's you just create.
That's a huge tip Doug, Thanks for sharing👍🏼

Yes, i was wondering the same thing. How was everything cabled from the MPCX to midi interface? then audio interface?
YOUR A LEGEND!
For some reason the video's text in beginning go totally jacked up, my apologies

Can this be done in FL Studio with the MPC X?
any idea of how to do this with cubase 12pro, im at a dead end
I was syncing via wifi but I’m gonna try your method
The dance moves are awesome “back to the video “ lol
Papo what does the hand's movement means I don't get it.
Good video thanks
Hey Doug, is there a way to record from pt to the mpc using this setup? Kinda hit a brick wall.
I will look to get into this mpc live this week, and see. I am curious as well. I need to brush up on this and see the options.
This is great man thanks
Hey I love this and I could possibly help you set up a way you can show people easier! Instead of moving the camera around alot
Question. I wanna have my MPCX as the Master and let Protools be the slave. Only because I’m on my drumset and my MPCX is near me
I will have to look into this, I know this can be done, setting pro tools as slave, mpc as master.

Using pro tools 8, avid Digi 003 interface.
Hmmm? I will have to look into this man. that's weird. are you using a controller?
@@Jakeypoo83you ever figure that out I’m using almost same set up
Hi, I'm trying to sync mpc live standalone with logic pro x. I want to use all the functions on the mpc, can you help me
We are actually setting up a labtop with logic, and the mpc this week, I will let you know once I get it working. Thanks!

Hey Doug, how do i get in contact with you, you know what's happening!
email dizmastering at yahoo
my guy i did everything but i don't get any signal so when i record no waves come out or signal ? anyone know why?
Ok thanks for the help lol ( got none for those with the same issue)
that's why it is all ways good to make your hardware master and software slaves, I experience the same out of sync problem back in the earlier days with mpc and protools
I was thinking the same way. Also Why don’t you just upload the MPCX Into Protools and just track it out?
or bounce multi-audio tracks from the mpcx to a hard disk then load the audio tracks into protools, no headaches that way..
