So do I. Alas, it was my setup at the time. I couldn’t do much about it. I’ll be getting a proper mixer some time in September (hopefully) to hook up to my phone through the Focusrite console used here, and I’ll promptly get back to recording videos, where I’ll also be able to have my guitar in the frame.
This was filmed so long ago and with the angle that I filmed it (had no other choice really) the guitar is completely hidden, but given the guitar strap I’m 99% sure that I was using my Taylor 114CE acoustic.
It's strange, how it seems like your singing has started to sound just a bit more like Gordon Lightfoot's voice. Can't put my finger on it. Maybe the vibrato/tremolo combination is part of it which I'm guessing is naturally going to inspire a fellow singer when he's a fan and sings a lot of his songs. Still, it hasn't changed the amazing quality, beauty even, of the sound of your voice in its own right! You talk about soothing in your description - I hope you know there's people like myself who go to your videos when they need, or are in the mood for, something soothing to both the ears and mind.
Wow. I’m incredibly grateful that you took the time to even type that out. I’m deeply touched by your comment. Thank you. Feel free to stick around. It’ll be a little while but I got more videos coming.
@@MusicbyBenjamin That's great, I'm glad you got some positivity out of my earnest opinion. Yeah, I've been sticking around lately and will continue to do so. I had lost track of you til I went through some older videos in my Favourites playlist and was really happy to stumble upon the first video that I saw of yours, because I'd forgotten all about it since I didn't see any of your vids roll by for years. It was that busking cover of Anything For Love - which back at that time I shared with pretty much all my friends and not only was impressed by the voice but the guitar arrangement as well (and as a multi-instrumentalist with a high-set bar I don't usually feel that spark of "wow this is something special"). My friends shared my sentiment FYI ;) I only saw one more video at that time which had just been published, your song Lovers In A Shifting Tide, which I remember thinking it matched the Canadian folk revival standards that artists like Kacy and Clayton had with their album at the time; and that it belonged on a record that I owned. So after years when I redis'cover'ed that performance of Anything For Love, I got all giddy to hear it again - and it was just as positive an experience as the first time. Since then I've stuck around. When I don't just listen intently - the sound effortlessly captures my attention and takes me places (I know I'm sounding dramatic but it's just plain facts haha) I'll always get the urge either right the first time or upon re-listening, to grab my bass guitar and improvise along with my eyes closed, so your vids also offer me some pleasant playtime laying down some deep rhythmic and melodic bottom to the already great instrumentation of your solo acoustic playing. I hope that wasn't too long and rambling, it's past midnight here in The Netherlands so I'm droopy-eyed, but before going to sleep, I've now gotten myself hyped up to go back and play along with a few of your performances; the ones I mentioned earlier, and I'm also in the mood for your incredible version of "I'm Not Supposed To Care" With that, take care yourself and you deserve all the recognition in the world, so don't be humbled by my comments hehe
@@JohnnyNatrium Ahh but ya see, I can’t help but humbly accept your kind words. I cherish them. And I’m looking forward to seeing ya in my comments in the future! I’ll be returning to making videos very soon!
