Your video came up in my feed and I clicked because of the awesome photo. As a woman who has purchased several pistols, I agree there are no ladies guns. The main thing is if the grip fits your hand, you can reach the magazine release with your thumb, and you can operate the slide. These things help you handle a gun safely. I have found very small guns don’t absorb enough recoil so I’m better off with a S&W Shield plus or Glock 43x than a small Ruger LCP. I also started out with a .380 and worked my way up to a 9mm. I completely agree that you’re better off with a smaller caliber that you can handle well than nothing at all. 😊
Congratulations on getting at least one female subscriber that's at least one more that I expect to get when I start making my videos (which I'm planning on doing this week actually). I don't know much about women other than the fact that they hate the shit out of me but I always thought the same thing as you about how the whole thing about women only being able to handle weak guns is nonsense and I also thought a lady's gun is just a gun that is owned by a lady. Maybe giving a woman an M60 would be a bad idea because it's heavy and automatic .308 recoil is not negligible (although maybe they could even handle that I don't know) but I have a hard time believing a typical able bodied woman would have a hard time shooting .45 ACP or weaker.
It's absolute rubbish. If Annie Oakley, Belle Starr and here on my side of the pond Constance Markevicz and Margaret Skinneder could teach male shooters is that they are every bit a man's equal.
When the subject of "Ladies Guns" comes up, I always think of the letter Geoffrey Boothroyd wrote to Ian Fleming about 007's original Beretta 418 in .25 ACP. Boothroyd complained that Bond should be armed with something more substantial than the 418, which he claimed would be "carried by a Lady, and not a very nice Lady either". Fleming subsequently tooled Bond up with the super macho .32 PPK, and cemented that weapon's iconic status. Frankly, the whole "Ladies gun" debate is ridiculous. It's like saying that "He carried a Ladies screwdriver". It's a tool, and it's use defines it, not the gender of the operator.
