Feriha is forced to take her engagement ring out of sight. Telling him that he has lost the ring makes Halil very uncomfortable and causes tension at home. Realizing that Feriha is lying about the ring, Zehra is uneasy about both the future of the engagement and her daughter's hidden truths.
Determined to break Feriha's resistance, Emir's move brings Feriha and Emir face to face once again. However, what happened this time will change the Emir's attitude towards Feriha.

Feriha Yilmaz is an attractive, beautiful, talented and ambitious daughter of a poor family. Her father, Riza Yilmaz, is a janitor in Etiler, an upper-class neighbourhood in Istanbul. Her mother Zehra Yilmaz is a maid. Feriha studies at a private university with full scholarship. While studying at the university, Feriha poses as a rich girl. She meets a handsome and rich young man, Emir Sarrafoglu. Feriha lies about her life and her family background and Emir falls in love with her without knowing who she really is. She falls in love with him too and becomes trapped in her own lies.

Emir learnt a lot about social injustices and his own unconscious biases from Feriha. Emir grew a lot as a person as a result of his interaction with Feriha and her family. He gets to understand that human beings are by their nature imperfect, and that he himself is also imperfect. He learns from her that the measurements by which his society judge good and bad is as imperfect as the measurements by which her society judge good and bad. He learns from Feriha that women are not just one night toys for men, and also the poor ones are worthy of respect and love. He learns the value of paying one’s debt irrespective of circumstances, and he learns that suggesting bedding a woman to pay a family debt is a disgusting practice.
I couldn't imagine how long Feriha keep the truth to Emir..there's a lot of opportunity to tell him but she keep hide her lies🙄
To be honest. Koray’s obsession with/ unhealthy love or whatever it is that drives him to give Hande everything she wants, makes him a dangerous friend. Koray loves Emir as a brother, but he sells out Feriha and Emir to Hande every time, knowing how bad Hande is. Koray doesn’t know the meaning of true loyalty to friends. Koray is just for Hande. The sooner Emir and Feriha understand this, the better for them and their relationship. Koray is nice, but live next to rotten apples, and you rot too. Koray knows how to manipulate Emir, and he does so shamelessly to get what Hande wants. Hande doesn’t love Koray at all, and uses him shamelessly. Emir, run far away from these 2 toxic people.

So, if Emir doesn’t tell Feriha how the accident happened when she asks him a direct question, then he isn’t hiding things from her? All those who judge Feriha incredibly harshly for hiding things from Emir don’t say a word when Emir hides things from Feriha. Both Emir and Feriha are young. Neither wants to lose the other. They are in love. Protective of their togetherness. They don’t know how to protect it within the rules. So they duck and dive. Neither have parents that meet their emotional needs, or the needs of a young couple, one of whom were overprotected to the point of abuse, and the other who was left alone to the point of abuse. I think that we, the audience need to be more generous in our judgment of both of them.
Don't compare Feriha lies with Emir lies how many times has Emir lied to Feriha? I've lost count of Feriha lies and deceits and Emir didn't lied intentionally but Feriha willingly chosen to lies and she cover lies with more lies both are different
@@ojoalaba1382 I understand what you say. I also think that we, the audience, also need to look at the context. Emir hates lies because lies destroyed his family when he was a young child. In Feriha’s family, a steady stream of lies is the means of avoiding physical abuse from her father.
From a young age, she and her mother escaped from their miserable realities by imagining that the good things in life, things that the likes of Emir and Chancu took for granted. By good things in life I don’t only refer only to descent clothes, and cream to treat her mother’s overworked hands. I especially refer to being treated fairly and with dignity for their own character, rather than being treated as lesser human beings because of their poverty. In Feriha’s young life, she experienced insults for being a doorman’s daughter. People don’t see her as a person who has good characteristics. They see her as someone below themselves who, by virtue of her poverty, and the jobs of her parents, should be less capable than they are. They should have more than she has by virtue of social and economic position.
Okay I agree, that is no justification to lie to someone. In Feriha’s defence, Emir, Hande and Koray cornered Feriha because Emir was interested in her. At that stage, Feriha had no idea that Emir would at all be interested in her. Gunce told her that Emir dates actors, models and such women. The hurt from being insulted by Chancu, and Sanem was still fresh. Here is a group of irrelevant rich kids wanting to know her personal information. Must she give them the ammunition to insult her too in a place ( uni) where she hopes to be happy for the sake of a few minutes in their company? Feriha should not have lied. I agree with that. I can understand Why she lied. She did not plan to lie, she certainly didn’t lie to catch Emir in a love net. She lied instinctively to protect herself against insults by the group who think of themselves as worthy of only being in the company of other people who are in their social circles. The lie was to protect her against abuse, the same means of protection that she learnt from her mother and that is in her every day home life. Feriha didn’t think that her life, and the life of members of the high society group will run the same path at all. She wanted to deal with an immediate threat to her dignity.
Okay, she used the wrong strategy, because Emir didn’t respond to her ignoring him the way she intended. They became an item, but she knew that nothing could come of it. By the time she realised that she must tell him, she found herself deeply in love, and she also realised that he places high importance of dating people who are in high society. Feriha guilt, her love for Emir and her love and loyalty to her family, put her in an impossible situation. She tried to, but failed to tell Emir the truth, until she wrote that letter. What happened to that letter is not her fault.
Later in the story, our loveable Emir, who hates lies, carefully sets out and executes a plan to ruin a woman as revenge for his father’s suicide which resulted from the actions of her brother. That lie was not a spur of the moment defensive action. It was planned. The execution of the plan took 10 days. 10 days of lying to a woman to ruin her. Yes, Emir was in a very bad space. He lost his wife, whom he loved very much, but whom he also hurt deeply in her lifetime, and he lost his father, with whom he had a stormy relationship, whom he loved, but found that his trust was misplaced. Both deaths were sudden and Emir didn’t have time to truly throw out the bad things between himself and these two people who were central to his life. He is grieving.
What I am trying to say is that judging people because they lie, for why they lie, when they lie, etc. Is very difficult because contexts matter.

As we watched these series, some of come to understand facts of life, some it’s easy some it’s not. I am glad that Feriha do the right thing by break off the engagement before it’s too late. She did it at the right time. I commend you you Feriha for doing so. Let the parents sort it out because they force her to do so. This is a very lovely couple, sweet and inexperience, they learn as thy go along, very bad that break off completely,but their love is stronger in a way that they cool it off, but then they can’t completely let it off. They hurt each other a lot, which is so ugly.
When you love someone do it in a manner of respect and kindness, not hurting and get back again, learn from the mistake before.
Other thing too toooo much distraction , challenge, tribulations and many more.

I do admire Khalil for one characteristic. He doesn’t break promises. Like Emir is with telling the truth, Khalil is with keeping a promise. So when Khalil tells Emir that he will kill Emir, then I’ll take that seriously. So, perhaps Feriha’s death by Khalil’s bullet was an accident. The bullet wasn’t meant for Feriha. It was meant for Emir. Khalil considered Zehra and Emir to be the 2 people who were opposed to his and Feriha’s togetherness. So he tried to kill those two. Just my theory. I have no proof

But where she's can get experience when they locked her up in home. She's adult but can just to university or home.. Unbelievable

Hande tries to steal emir from Feriha, she caused splits between Emir and Feriha, she spread the magazine lies that me to Feriha’s engagement eventual death. Feriha and Emir would be better off just to leave everyone and everything and leave. That is if they only want to live in love and in peace in This world . Feriha always has the afterlife in mind in what she does and how she reacts to difficult situations. So she forgives, refrain from revenge, she is patient with even those who are unjust to her etc

There are also some of us who pretend that we never lie. Perhaps lying to ourselves is just part of the human condition. We like to think that we don’t lie. Everyone lies. Keeping quiet in some contexts can be complicit to someone’s lies. Repeating someone else’s lie without verifying whether it is the truth, is also a problem. Lying under distress is also lying. Being constantly truthful is a direction towards which we all struggle. I don’t know if any human being, apart from the prophets of God, can be constantly truthful. So rejection/hating someone because of a lie, has at least a little bit of hypocrisy inside it.
