I think you probably nailed it there. I don't know how I feel about AI/deep faking either character, but I can totally see it happening. I get the feeling you have intimate knowledge about the movie. Would I be accurate with that assessment?
Great video and love the thumbnail Stu was my favourite character in the original! I love that he is coming back but actually curious on how he survived wounds and an old bulky TV to his face. I guess they'll use some bs that he had a twin or something but I don't know lol
Scream: A New Nightmare. As a final tribute to Wes to match his 7th movie in the anoes series. It would explain why they're revealing these returning actors instead of letting it surprise us, because they're a big part of the movie playing themselves. It would explain why Patrick Dempsey isn't Neve's husband here. It would also satisfy all the fans that want them to switch the series up more. The real shock could be the end reveal that Matthew Lillard and Skeet Ulrich are hunting Neve and we get another meta layer where they want to recreate the first movie finale irl maybe because they became obsessed with the series or jealous their careers didn't take off the way Neve's did.
I think that would be interesting, but I don't think that's the way they're going here. The producers want to play it safe. At least, that's how it seems they've wanted to play with the last two movies. I don't see them "diverting expectations" on this one.
Sidney story ended in 3 and 4 is the first story of Sidney that has nothing to do with her past or her mother and Stu is dead he's most likely gonna be use in either a dream sequence, flashback or his voice is use to scare Sidney as the voice modulator from 3 returning and the movie supposed to have AI as the main theme of the story and Emma Roberts supposed to be in talks to reprising her role as Jill.
Sean Clark doubled down on his "on the spectrum" comment on the Happy Horror Time podcast uploaded 10 days ago at the 1:26:00 mark. He was asked "Have you ever had people show up to see the celebrities and do something that legitimately creeps them out, or like say something really uncomfortable,' and part of his answer was, "There's a lot of awkward people that come to conventions. I mean, it's, you know, I got in trouble for saying this on another podcast, but it is the truth and I stand by it, there's a lot of people on the spectrum that go to these conventions. And, it's not me putting them down, I'm just saying they don't all know how to talk to people --- they don't know the appropriate things to say sometimes." Perhaps it never occurred that people can be awkward without being 'on the spectrum.' Piz, I enjoy your and Jeremy's content and the pure joy Jeremy has is always just that - pure joy for the genre. Please no more photos with Sean at a convention, respectfully.
Scream 8 is rumored to already be in development, and a new Sidney Prescott Trilogy is supposedly in the plans. So Scream 7 may not be Neve Campbell's final Scream movie.
If Isabelle may character could be dewey sid daughter?purely for odd interaction between them in scream 4 could there be parallel between sid and maureen?
Before this announcement, I would have said that Stu is 100% the killer. The recent ghostface incidents got him all excited and brought him out of retirement. He wants to get the one who got away, which is Sydney. How did he survive and how is it that Sydney didn't know he survived? Well, I think Stu's parents were pretty well off and maybe paid some people off to fake his death. How did he survive? Eh, who cares. People have survived falling from crazy heights. Go ahead and look it up. That all being said, I don't know if Stu IS the killer now. Because if he is, they just spoiled the whole thing. Unless, the second ghostface is going to be a surprise as well.
I kind of wish they would go the Halloween 18 route and throw the sequels out. Put this as a straight up sequel to the first one with Dewey and Randy still alive. I’ve got faith in Kevin Williamson though, I’m sure he will do his best to make it good.
If they continue the new trilogy scream 5 was basically a remake of 1 6 was nothing but a remake of 2 so 7 should have 1 maybe more killers but at least 1 that has been behind it all along been saying that since scream 6 came out and looks like we got the guy who has been behind it all along
Maybe they will appear in Scream 7, the same way Skeet appeared in the previous films but this time it's Sidney seeing them, and her mind is actually starting to snap. Or perhaps the Ghost Face of this film is using the voice device to create their voices to play with her head. I hope it's something more plausible like that or even the whole flashback route, because if all 3 are still alive, when they are clearly dead, it would destroy the memory of the original Trilogy and also be incredibly stupid, and I would never watch any of them again or any future installment.
Yeah, I don't have much faith. There was a time Stu coming back and Sydney's story closing out would've worked really well but that time has passed imo. Maybe they'll prove me wrong 🤞. I'm kind of just expecting a bunch of cheap meaningless cameos.
I do not want any of the dead Ghostfaces to be alive. By bringing them back, or i should say have them still alive, is to disregard the films and their climaxes before this film. I dont want to disregard the first and most perfect film, Scream 1996. It is Perfect.
Joke Spoiler Alert: Piz, if the Scream Team really wanted to OD on fan service, Kevin Williamson would carve up a Sidney dream sequence where she pulls off the Ghostface mask, revealing Lillard, who would then say: "I would have gotten away with this if it wasn't for you damn kids." 😘
Scream is doing damage control. Alot of people are mad the main girls from the last 2 scream movies are out so they need to build hype to get fans to see the next movie. What better way then fan service?
I think they had to kill off one of the last 3 OG characters though Dewy was the most obvious choice. Kevin Williamson said in an interview he was fine with Dewy dying because you have to raise the stakes. He said he regretted killing Jamie Kennedy in Scream 2 because of how long the franchise kept going he thinks it ultimately was to early for his character to die. Honestly I think Dewy should have died in Scream 2 it would have given that sequel more weight especially after Randy was killed as well.
I do think Roman is dead but I also think Stu will be revealed to be alive I just get that vibe lol. I think we could get a flashback of Sidney mother being killed by all 3 Ghostface Stu Roman and Billy assuming it's true and Skeet actually returns. I do think it's possible that in a flashback we see Roman helped Stu fake his death after Scream 1 since Roman had money and was from Hollywood. I do think Stu is alive but I don't think Stu is a killer I think it's either a situation where Stu shows up in flashbacks and then is revealed as the mastermind in the end having trained the new killer. Or Stu survived but ended up in the nut house and he helps Sidney against the new killer only for the end twist to reveal that Stu actually set the whole thing up. Or Stu is in flashbacks only for us to get one last scene at the end revealing he's still alive and trained the new killer and has a Ghostface cult setting up for Scream 8. I agree that Williamson is doing a legacy sequel to Wes Cravens films but I'm not sure they are going to work things out with Melissa and go back to her for Scream 8. I think it's more likely they will set up for a new Sidney trilogy and that Melissa will honestly probably not be back for a long while but may eventually return.
Roman is definitely dead. He's there for flashbacks, which could be cool. Stu being alive...I can definitely see that happening. That's how Williamson wanted Scream 3 to go down, but it didn't happen, so this is his opportunity to make it happen now. I just think it won't be as special as people want it to be.
@pizowell I think Roman will be dead I agree. I see Roman there for flashbacks to reveal new revelations possibly some connection with Stu we didn't know about. In terms of Stu returning I think some fans will be let down if he isn't the main killer. For me I would prefer if he was the mastermind not the killer but the one who influenced the new killer either from the nut house or on the outside. Though I'm not against Stu being in the crazy house potentially helping Sidney battle a new killer. I do not think Lillard will be the killer even if he's introduced as alive I feel it's more likely that he's the one who inspired or coached the new guy or girl. Having Stu be the killer would be to obvious leaving no mystery which is why I think he's either the mastermind behind the new killer or simply the one who inspired the new killer if they go with the he's alive route.
Kevin never intended to have Stu return. This is a total false fan theory and Kevin confirmed it on the Happy Horror Time podcast last year and he’s shared it during promotional interviews for Scream 5. Stu is dead. He will have a role as a flashback and AI deepfakes in 7 but he’s still dead.
I hope there's no AI deep faking. I'm pretty sure I've heard the Stu/Scream 3 angle from more than one person associated with the series. I'll listen to the interview. I have heard him say that Stu is dead, that's why I'm leaning more toward flashbacks than Stu actually being alive. Guess we'll see.
@ Ehren Kruger confirmed it as well in Still Screaming documentary. Another producer said he was never the killer but he was indeed paid for a background cameo that never materialized. It’s possible early, early in the rewrites Wes craven floated the idea if brining him back but both writer said it never once hit the page.
I really liked 5. more than most. And I really disliked 6, more than most. The reason we have all these people coming back is 1. money. 2. Kevin Williamson has probably written a good script. He is the biggest return. - IT won't happen but I think this would be a great ending to the franchise before another reboot. Sidney and her husband realize their family will never be safe until any living connection the the Ghostface saga are dead. So they set about gathering and luring everyone together after a couple of killings. But they are the one's killing everyone off. And then at the end of the movie...."Somewhere in Europe."We see them walking around with their kids smiling and laughing and enjoying life. I know a lot of the people involved in the franchise wouldn't make that movie but I think it would be a good end to the whole thing until another re-imagining happens. - Do you know how good of a writer you have to be to bring this many people back to the story, let new audiences understand it, reintroduce the new characters, set up all the kills and wit and intrigue and then tell your whole new movie. Making that all work is a huge task. It is why I like 5. Doing that was seamless in the movie and fun and flowed and just went for it. But how to do it with this many old killers without just doing a bunch of throw away fan service will be impressive. Everything is really stacked against making that work but Williams is a smart writer. I may or may not like the movie but I hope people do for all the fun I have had with the series for all involved.
I want to give you my comment before I go forward with this video of yours. Do you think that Stu markers do you think that he never died in the first movie? I just got shocked ball in the face? I hope that you can cover on this if he is bad then I need to get hold of him get hold of shaggy himself so. do you believe this to be true about Stu marker is affect returning alive and well, but if so, why it not for revenge or maybe he’s going to be there. i’ll wait to apologize to Sydney Prescott and there is a Y all this has happened all because of the mom was sleeping around with Billy’s dad and what I mean Billy‘s dad on top about Billy Lumos and his dad maybe we should get a prequel to all of this. so if still never died from that TV to the head then maybe he has survived at somehow So my question to you is this if you want to make a video about this then maybe you could answer this in a video and use my comment in my questions if Stu does return align went well. He should not be the ghost face psycho killer no, it should be the dad of Siri Prescott contrast to William Lumos and that’s the name of the dad of Billy Loomis so if that’s true, maybe both of them will be working together with another copycat ghost face killing spree so if Matthew Willard does return, he should not be continuing as the ghost face killer he should be the one to explain why he was working with Billy Lumos so if so, maybe you can explain that in a video and I can probably write to him about it and if I can get a message to Matthew Willard and find out what role that he is doing and not to say that he is going to be the next ghost face psycho killer. Maybe he can be there too help Cindy Prescott, or help her to understand that it was not his intentions to go after her, and I thought that if you can do a video on this, I like to hear you say. About it
I hope they show the night Sydney’s mom died.
I think that will be cool. Show them planning it out, stalking Maureen, and Billy doing his thing, nervous yet full of rage.
You're sick. Lol just kidding I think it would be cool to see Roman guiding Billy and Stu in Ghostface costumes.
Maybe Stu will be back as a literally GHOSTface! 👻
10 years ago I'd be excited for Stu's return. I just can't excited for anything scream anymore.
Ghostface will be using technology and AI to mess with Sid and Gale. take this as you will :)
Yeah
Damn, nice call. Deepfakes and AI are all the rage now. I could definitely see this playing a role in the story.
@@Joshiesgotagun oh it will! no flashbacks
🤦♂🤦♂🤦♂🤦♂
I think you probably nailed it there. I don't know how I feel about AI/deep faking either character, but I can totally see it happening. I get the feeling you have intimate knowledge about the movie. Would I be accurate with that assessment?
Man. I miss the days when every movie wasn’t spoiled months before it even comes out. It’s no wonder Hollywood is bleeding money 🤦🏻♂️
Those days are long gone for the major franchises.
@ Yeah. Unfortunately you’re right. Shame.
Wild is the right word haha. It should be very entertaining at the least! Who’s next Drew Barrymore? 😂
I wouldn't be surprised.
Here's what I think. I think they're going to go the New nightmare route.
God I hope not!
That would be interesting, but they will definitely not do that here.
I think the whole Hannibal take would be pretty awesome
Yeah! Like I said, a redemption arc of sorts. After all, Stu always had a thing for Sid.
I hope they don't bring Stu back. He's dead. And it's sad Patrick Dempsey isn't back
I like your theory about Stu.
Hopefully they do something big with all these characters not just flashbacks or more force ghosts.. something outside the box
Great video and love the thumbnail
Stu was my favourite character in the original!
I love that he is coming back but actually curious on how he survived wounds and an old bulky TV to his face. I guess they'll use some bs that he had a twin or something but I don't know lol

If the movie ends on a cliffhanger I hope Melissa and Jenna returns for scream 8!
That's a possibility. Maybe they're going to create multiple new entries that cross over like a Scream universe. That actually sounds awful.
Wes will be chuckling in his grave at all this nonsense
Well he was rolling in his grave during Scream 5 & 6
Sidney story ended in 3 and 4 is the first story of Sidney that has nothing to do with her past or her mother and Stu is dead he's most likely gonna be use in either a dream sequence, flashback or his voice is use to scare Sidney as the voice modulator from 3 returning and the movie supposed to have AI as the main theme of the story and Emma Roberts supposed to be in talks to reprising her role as Jill.
It would be great if they did flashbacks like Halloween kills did with all the characters de Aged and planning things in the very beginning in 1996.
Good one!
I really hope neither inclusion feels somewhat forced. Similar to Ash in Alien: Romulus.

So excited, happy that there is no Sam or Tara in this one. I'm all about the OG
I haven't been excited for a scream movie since Scream 2. I'm not EXCITED about Scream VII, but I'm interested.
Same.
I'm more interested than excited, too.
Scream 8 is rumored to already be in development, and a new Sidney Prescott Trilogy is supposedly in the plans. So Scream 7 may not be Neve Campbell's final Scream movie.
I hope that's not the case.

I think they keep everyone throwing off the trail. People assuming it’s flashbacks or AI voices for the voicechanger. Its a good distraction.

Scream should have been a trilogy. Scream 3 should have been the last one. All the rest after 3 are just money grabs. 4 films too many.

He shouldn't have died.
