Glad you enjoyed the video. Your comments are helpful to us. They show us the things we need to improve on, as well as the things that are working. Thanks for watching.

You would have to be extremely lucky for those parts to just drop in and work without some form of minor fitting, especially the safety. Plenty of videos out there showing how to fit them properly and insure you have a safe gun. Just wanted to bring this detail up incase someone ran into this problem and perhaps though they had some faulty part.

What brand slide release is that? I really like it! Would love to replace the factory slide release on my springfield garrison with that slide release you’re using! That’s one of the best ones I’ve seen. Could you give me the brand that makes it? Hopefully that have a blued version.

I was really hoping I could do this, but the slide release I bought does not have the same geometry as the factory slide stop. The inside tooth portion on the factory part has more clearance than the extended stop, so to make the extended one work I will have to machine it, and it's a really weird geometry which will be very hard to machine, it will require a setup tool be machined, and I'm really not looking forward to doing this.

For a moment I thought you were going to modify the Colt, I was sweating, lol

That 1911-A-1 government was the first gun I ever took apart. I was six years old. My dad sat down with me and indulged my curiosity. It was actually a pivotal moment in my life, so as you might imagine that gun is almost sacred to me. I will never modify it. Also how many eighty year old guns do you see that are in perfect condition. Thanks for watching us and for writing in.
