I don't know why Phil Spector is always singled out as a unique case. All record executives have been like this. They're all kooks. That's why artists have likened the music industry to organized crime.
Phil Spector, a tortured soul? His behavior tortured a lot of people and his mad ego (given a pass by everyone) turned him into a murderer. So sad his name is mentioned with respect.
