These ONI challenges are great. It's very rare that someone can make me watch an hour long video in one sitting, but you manage it and make me want it to be longer.

horrible idea: oni but the only type of tile you can make is airflow tile. no bunker, mesh, insulated, anything

Well done, although there is a safer way to dig into the magma planet without suits. Use an autodispenser to drop small amounts of coal (10-100kg depending on the depth of magma), let it sink to the bottom and when it heats up enough it'll turn into a solid tile of refined carbon. Pour three columns in a row, build a ladder, profit. If the pile is too small it'll turn into a tile before hitting the bottom though, so be careful.

Another excellent video. Anyone who plays this game knows how much time and effort would have gone into this hour long video. Also happy to see far less liquid lock incidents this time :P

absolutely inspiring. i was randomly recommended you first video and instantly fell in love with the format. your challenge runs are incredible and super informative and have helped me in my normal play-throughs. i have 900 hours into this game and i just learned that dupes don't exhale in a vacuum. keep up the great work

My thoughts at the start of the video: Oh, no atmosuits or SPOM? Well, the Frozen Planet Pack might be the best starting asteroid for that. That's what I'd pick for sure.
Sharkiii: Volcnea. With all the extreme temp planetoid modifications.
My thoughts: Oh, so he wants to suffer.

  • @Somebody374-bv8cd

45:00 Actually you can scramble the frosty planet pack biomes into all older asteroids so all the older asteroids can generate seals/bammoths/floxes/etc. I did that for my oceania one. Btw that's a really clever way of cooling magma from the volcano via tempshift plates, never thought of that. At the end of the video: didn't know you can use auto sweepers on pitcher pumps and sweep them into bottle emptiers.
    Great video.

6:00 - I'd suggest embedding TSPs into the sandstone floor to bring the air temperature down ASAP, though you probably didn't have them researched by that point.
17:30 - if you only want oxylite (or just bleach stone) then you can make do with only 2 ranches - one with 6 worker pufts and the other with 1 prince + 5 worker pufts.
25:00 - a common recommendation in these situations is to use low priority build, with materials available to the affected dupe. Bubbles had acess to obsidian, I think?
31:00 - ah, I've just had a similar cock-up in my game, one of many, in fact. I'll make a habit oh limiting vacuumed areas to ~200 cells, separated by mini liquid locks to contain the damage.
47:35 - lol @ the data bank sweatshop. Should have dragged in a shine bug to make a laboratory room :D
48:52 - last I checked, rockets don't collect artefacts when just flying through a POI. I'm assuming you were planning to collect them on the way back
53:03 - I could swear I got pressure damage on these. I'll have to re-check if I'm confusing them with plain metal tiles.
Regarding door crushers - I'm wondering if, at least in the smaller rooms like the salt water tank, it would be quicker to brick up the whole room to get vacuum. I was also wondering if you were going to use smog slugs, or slicksters at any point. :)

Digging through scorching stones and magma reminds me of the time i made my dupes dig through magma on a flipped asteroid just to get a sulfur geyser. I stopped playing the game after i was done with that. I built mechanical doors to displace magma. Dupes can build through them at some angles.

As far as i can tell you just uplouded your first video a mouth ago and poped on my feed and since then its just has been a banger after banger, do you have background in youtube other than this channel? Do you have a decade- worth of unlisted old cringe videos? I am just so confused by how someone with so little expiriance manages to pump out videos of such high quality

Why didn't you use atmo suits anyway? I'm pretty sure you can manually make a dupe wear one, plus they don't consume any oxygen when breathing. And as long as they don't soil their suits you can wear them forever and they won't get worn out nor add any stress. The only issue is that they would need to stop to breathe even when outside of hazardous areas, but with maxed out athletics that shouldn't be such a big issue
