I have a chocolate sonce last year and i got my merle yesterday. I dont care what anyone says mine are number 1 on the list. Because they are mine and i love them. I bet we all feel the same about ours
Color Acceptable colors: white, cream, fawn (ranging from light fawn to a red fawn), or any combinations of the foregoing. Markings and patterns are: brindle, piebald, black masks, black shadings, and white markings. Ticking is acceptable but not desired. Brindle ranges from sparse but clearly defined black stripes on a fawn background to such heavy concentration of black striping that the essential fawn background color barely shows through (“black brindle”). Only a trace of the background color is necessary; in a brindle piebald, a trace of the brindle patterning in any patch is sufficient. All other colors, markings or patterns are a disqualification. Disqualifying colors and patterns include, but are not limited to, solid black, black and tan, black and white, white with black, blue, blue fawn, liver, and merle. Black means black without a trace of brindle. UPPS.... Disqualifications Blue or green eye(s) or any traces of blue or green. All coat colors other than those specifically described (e.g., Solid black, black and tan, black and white, white and black, blue, blue fawn, liver, and merle). Black means black without a trace of brindle. All other patterns and markings other than specifically described.
They should be selecting on longer noses, wider nostrils, natural birth, no skin issues etc and not on dq colors alone ! There is a reason these colors are dq : because of health reasons or because they never appeared in the breed and are signs of mixed breeding to other dog brees.
I know it's about colours on here ,how about structure, snout length etc ? Frenchies seem to come in all sizes the bully type ,terrier type flatter face etc etc what do people prefer ?
There are only a few standard colors in the Frenchie : fawn and brindle, combined with white or totally white. Blue, tan-pattern, long coat, merle are the result of crossing with other breeds and/or inbreeding. This breed has other priorities than selecting on color only, for instance : longer nose, no more c-sections, better skin ...
I have seven new blue lilac pups. Three of them have the tan points they are amazing. I was going to get rid of them all but I'm thinking of keeping one now.
Fun fact: French Bulldogs can’t reproduce naturally, so they have to reproduce through artificial Insemination. Most births frequently occur through c-section. Blue is actually a disqualification color for French Bulldog breed standard, and is discouraged! It’s discouraged because of the health complications that can occur, and is considered to be greedy over benefiting the breed. The two recessive genes that make up the dilution of black to blue, can also lead to a genetic disorder known as Color Dilution Alopecia!
@@BluFrenchibles that is not true... lilac and tan lilac and fawn and lilac and tan platinum are very much desirable and are considered exotic colours. By the way the dog you put as cream is not a cream. Creams have dark brown eyes, never ever blue. Blue eyes/ green eyes are only in lilacs and brown genetics- lilac, lilac and tan, chocolate, lilac fawn, lilac tan platinum , Choco and Isabella
We have two Blues, blood brothers, same Mom/Dad just 2 litters apart. They are so bonded and it’s awesome having 2 different shades of blue, ones very blue and the other is much lighter. We have always been Frenchie parents, love, love, love this breed.
The breeder we got our blue Frenchie from told us it was a less desirable color amongst French bulldog lovers. I thought the blue color looked beautiful.
@@wanneske1969 This is a common misconception. People were saying the same thing about the Fluffy gene, when in fact, they are naturally occurring genes, and overtime become more prominent with close line breeding. All of my dogs are purebred, AKC registered and health tested through UC Davis and Embark, and they all come back as 100% French Bulldog. The funny thing is, the French Bulldog was created by cross breeding English Bulldogs with Pugs and Terriers. So saying pure bred doesn’t really make sense when referring to any “designer” breed. What matters is the proof of lineage through registration and all of my dogs have that.
Even tho mine is considered blue I think it's brindle blue which makes it top of the top xD In all seriousness idc about his colour but his health and happiness!!!
So I just scored an amazing looking .. lilac, cream, blue frenchie pup.. he's so gorgeous. You can see all three traits are visible. He has the blue face and the head and body are lilac cream with blue along the back.. how lucky am I lol

Just learned something new, fluffy is a colour(nope). Merle in the UK is not expected under kennel Club guild lines, because they come with a list of health problems most noticeable is blindness or cataracts forming in the corner of there eyes and getting bigger over time. And then there is kidney problems and digestive problems. Yes you can get healthy one but the Merle colour can be hard to breed healthy.
I bought one recently the father is BB/Dd no pied or brindle ,I've not DNA the pup the breeder said he was lilac tan ? I’m so on board with a longer snout. Can we at least let these little guys and gals breath better? 🤦♀️
I see the red fawn ones everywhere in NYC - also the honey tri pieds (brown and white with black mask)
We've got Chocolate Merle, lilac and tan, platinum.. 👍
My Luna is sparkling white with some black spots…. GOOOOORGEOUS!

Yes. Very true.
Merle, tan-pattern, chocolate and fluffy are also disqualifications. Merle might affect health too.

Pied was just outside of tenth, tan combinations are not as actively sought out, but definitely popular in the breeding community!

What about the silver lilac
The silver lilac would most often just be referred to as a lilac.
How about the Platinum??? I have one❤
what happened to the pied
The breeder we got our blue Frenchie from told us it was a less desirable color amongst French bulldog lovers. I thought the blue color looked beautiful.
Blues are okay, I work with a lot of french bulldogs, Merle’s and isebella are the highest in demand.
Same but mine has blonde feet
In the UK there is a lot of thought that there is a genetic prob with Blue, Frenchies, to us not a natural color.
I have a blue Frenchie named Bluebelle. She’s just beautiful ❤️
I have a litter of 8 on the way. All different shades of blue, including tan points. Cream carriers also
Would a Platinum be considered white cream? That's the one I'm looking at.
What about chocolate fawn because I have one

Merle didn't exist in the Frenchie, it comes from crossing with dappeld Dachshunds or Chihuahuas generations back, so far for 'purity' of the breed

Black and Tan is my favourite
Think we refer to the cream:white as platinum, I might be wrong though an that’s a totally different colour
Mines a white cream but he has dark brown ears with like a half mask that only covers one eye and his mouth
Fawn pied ?
Lilac is the cutest 😇
Na a white with one patch on its eye is cutest 2 lilac ots still rlly cute:)
What about ticking
Best colors are the colors of the owners who own then. No one can tell us our dogs aren't the best colors.
