Your Weekend forecast + some life in the tropics

  • High pressure is moving into NZ, rain for Bathurst and the tropics are finally starting to wake up after winter/dry season.
    We have staff away today, so apologies the video doesn't have the usual look - and no Tags/Labels for each day. (Back to normal next week!)
    1) The wintry change in NZ this week is starting to wind down and by the end of Friday it will be mostly cleared from NZ, with high pressure and frosts rolling in - then the high departs by Sunday/Monday and that encourages a warmer northerly flow back of the country.
    2) Aussie has more rainmakers in the south east, but it does finally ease later on Sunday. Windy and wet weather will hug NSW in particular - including Sydney, but does ease later this weekend. Bathurst looks wet to start with, drying out later - and cool with a high of only 13C.
    3) The tropics will see the easterly winds kicking in next week with a low forming near Tonga and the Cook Islands. Not a storm, but it is the first proper low to form under this new La Nina and the South Pacific Cyclone Season kicks off in just over 3 weeks (Nov1).
    4) And we also say some kind words to MetService, following their very busy week too.
    *Programming Note: Apologies but we have no video on Friday this week, we’re back again on Monday though! Have a great weekend wherever you are.

      We've had a really good relationship with them since the start of last year - after a very frosty decade before. It's really good and we want to continue growing that relationship :) Have a good weekend, Phil.

    I love the shade you throw at NIWA and Metservice don’t stop! Who knew weather forecasting drama was a thing before you guys started 😂 but seriously thank you for your great weather presentation I don’t really use any other site now you’re great

      We support MetService, we don't support Niwa wasting tax resources competing against them and the private sector. Yes it's highly drama! Just google "Niwa MetService competition" and you'll see many news stories!! :)

    Afternoon everyone, it’s blustery in Auckland. Long winded ( that’s funny) considering what’s happening. Daffodils long gone 😉 The cyclones missed us last /this year.
    I agree with you Phil NIWA panic & scaremonger. You and Met Service stay sensible and grounded. Whoops my umbrella ☂️☔️just whisked away. Promise not long winded.Thanks Phil 💨💨✨

    • @WeatherWatchTV
      @WeatherWatchTV  ปีที่แล้ว +3

      Haha thanks Kathy, nice comment! Yes blustery up here today, should be easing back slowly now and more so tonight (cold overnight too!). Yeah it's a shame NIWA is so aggressively commercial - hoping one day MetService will absorb Niwa's weather side. Would make sense.

      @@WeatherWatchTV nudged off to east just freezer door left open😉 it’s so quiet around my area. Usually the monkeys are noisy with morning chatter - but no easterly blowing this way - just overcast feeling like mid winter in October. Just a few isobars to edge out. ✨Awesome weekend everyone ✨
