I’m not as experienced as you but I was wondering if I’m doing the timing on 2015 Range Rover 3.0 if time everything use the same timing kit and you turn the engine should come back to the same exact timing set or not ???? Thank you

@@mazenzein8620 after you set the timing with the marks, if you turn the engine once or even twice, the marks won't line back up. That's OK. It would have to be turned many times to get them to line back up. I'd have to do the math to tell you how many, but it is a lot.

Well I have a LWB Range Rover with 68k miles , Don’t ask me why I purchased it lol because it was only $20k lol , I planning to replace those plastic manifold , I do only highway mileage mainly for family trip, I don’t mind to drop it in 6 months for the replacement , I was planning to do DIY but still hesitate

Hi Nick. I'd like to ask you a question please ... I bought another Evoque NON-Runner form Copart. It is 2015 with 74k Miles.
It had typical Cam failure, or so I thought. did I mention that "so I thought", yes I did. Turned out to be that it is a 3 piston version, LOL. Cyl #4 , piston broke and it is an absolute carnage in there. I thought I'd see this kind of things only in Eric's @ I do Cars videos, but I guess not.
Uncle Rodney was ripped off crankshaft and engine, obviously ceased. Once I removed spark plugs, fourth one had a Wi-Fi electrode :), I was like oh noooooooo. Head will need to go to machine shop but so far looks like it got couple of minor nicks - we shell see what machine shop says.
Anyway, plan is to repair head and buy low-low mileage 2.0 Ecoboost engine out of Ford Escape and use bottom end. Do you think it is viable idea? Also, did you ever had to extract engine out of one of these? Since the head is off, do you think I can fish the block out leaving the transmission in?
    Please LMK.
    Roman.

@@unprofessionalmechanic8466 sorry to hear that the damage was worse than you thought. Be careful trying to transplant a USA Ford engine/block into a Euro Ford engine/block. I don't know exactly how much is different, but I know the valve cover and the crank position sensor are different. I have to assume several electronic components have different electrical connections. Also, certain year USA Ford ecoboost engines have a block flaw (see me ecoboost 2 part videos).

Thank you Nick. Fords Valve cover has different seals for solenoids that stick trogh it as ford ones are smaller in diameter. I, literally, ordered valve cover for 2015 escape 2.0T from local ford dealer, swapped those seals with LR ones and that was it, the cover is on the engine right now.
Cover was one-forty, 2 seals were forty two dollars

@@NiXFiXlooks like these 2.0T ecobosts had issue with coolant consumption with vehicles/years where ford installed open-deck blocks.
I think engine I am looking at is out of 2015-2016 escape which is not on the list of flawed engines years. Has like 37k miles.
I understand that there is a possibility of Big F, but I am willing to risk 1K to find out :)
Most of the components have FoMoCo part number so it is kinda no-brainer, just go with that.
I threw Manley forged pistons in prrevious evoque but I used genuine ford rod bearings & bolts, and intake camshaft, not that I needed it but it was $75.
Also seals, o-rings, to do with head off>on all fit from same year escape > 2015.
So far the only incopatibility was VVT solenoids that stick trough valve cover, like I said before - they are thinner in diameter.
Timing cover on the side of the block, the big aluminum thing is very likely different too, at least from NA ecoboost.
I will, probably, go for it, would you like some feed back?
