It’s definitely the restaurants you choose to go to. With the exception of a select few, I never give recommendations for the tourist spots.. one would be Court of Two Sisters, or walk further down outside of the immediate Quarters and go to Lil Dizzys.
Otherwise you really gotta get out of that area.

Oceanna must have fell off. I haven’t eaten there in like 8 or 9 years. I usually do the seafood platter. There are great restaurants there though. You have to go to the whole in a walls.

Next time for Neyows yall allll have to order new ish. Try the stuff crab, BBQ shrimp, bell bell peppers, pasta, or the fried chicken plate and the mac and cheese or cirnbread dressing sides. Girl I never even knew they sold grilled chicken and fries 🤣. We only order soul food items here. But im glad you all had a good time in the city. Hope to hang out with you during your next visit in the future
Lastly: Go to "The Vintage" for beignets next time. They are the best. They also have different flavors there. I was never a beignet person till I went to The Vintage

You are correct, the food on Bourbon and the other famous streets are overrated. I was born and raised in Lake Charles, Louisiana.
The praline candy is the only tasty original Louisiana flavors true Louisiana original tastes.
