EASY Garlic Soy Glazed Trout | Cook With Me

  • This is a quick and easy steelhead trout recipe you can try next time you’re craving some fish
    Steelhead trout is quite unique, born in fresh water and migrate into the ocean. They are orange like salmon and taste similar but are a healthier choice! It has more protein, omega 3 fatty acid and less calories
    Switch it up and give trout a try!
    Serving: 2-4
    Ingredients:
    -Steelhead trout (2-4 pieces)
    -1/2 cup soy sauce
    -2tbsp shoaxing wine
    -1tbsp mirin
    -pepper to taste
    -scallions
    -garlic
    -choice of veggies (boo chow used)
    -rice
    Instructions:
    1. Slice your steelhead trout and add salt & pepper to both sides
    2. To make the marinade, add your soy sauce, shoaxing wine, and mirin. Add your trout into the marinade and leave for at least 10 minutes both sides. Save marinade
    3. Add fish to a pan of oil and cook on medium for 8-10 min. Flip and cook for 5 more minutes. Add your marinade from earlier and let it sizzle. Scoop sauces onto fish for more integration. It should be cooked inside, and the sauce should be thicker.
    4. Cook rice, and boil your choice of veggies
    5. Cut scallion, garlic and heat in a pan of oil for 1 min or until fragrant. Cut heat before it burns
    6. Top your trout with the thickened sauce, the scallion and garlic and serve with rice and veggies!
