- Space Police was a project created by Gerry Anderson and Christopher Burr. Only one episode was made, but was never aired on television. The idea for the series was eventually taken and transformed into Space Precinct almost a decade later.

In the mid 1980s I was working at a graphics studio in Henley on Thames and Gerry Anderson came in with lots of artwork for Space Police for us to make copies of for him. He said that it was a new production he was working on. He seemed a really nice guy and I was very pleased to meet him.

I did not think of it at the time but I had a few CENTURY 21 vinyl records I could have asked him to sign.
I've got the DVD box set of Space Preicent for my Birthday and the Space Police episode is on there too! Good yarn for anyone interested!
The bit were he makes us think he is going to say Chloe Annett was in Red Dwarf then turns out to be Crime traveler was hilarious.

Shane Rimmer also appeared in Superman: The Movie, II and III. Each time as a different character. Also Batman Begins.

I'd like to say thank you to you guys on the channel. Long gone are the days where you only heard about Space Police in sci-fi magazines like; Starlog in the US and TV Zone in the UK. Didn't know the pilots were now available on DVD, so cheers for that i'll be soon ordering mine then. Gotta ask you though, why weren't both these unseen pilots for Space Police not packaged with Space Precinct DVD's as bonus extras instead? (shrugs) Anyways cheers, as i feel this info was all sorely missing from the Space Precinct Primer from last year! Thumbs up.

I remember space pristict in 1994..Great show..shame I was too busy at College.
Ted Shackleford was a fantastic Brogan, but Shane Rimmer would have been great as a jaded other Lieutenant at Precinct 88 as a cameo.
I would have been a member of the viewing audience, had these very imaginative ideas made it to American audiences. It would have been refreshing to see such masterpieces.

My friends and I were speculating why Bats had a different uniform; so it sounds like she was from a different department assigned to assist?
I would have liked to have seen the original Pilot & Space Precinct mixed together with Shane Rimmer Earth Sargent and his NYPD Cops brought into to Altor to help the locals quell a growing crime wave. Keeping the dirty look of the original, it would have been great to see the show a little more serious with Demeter portrayed as a mining town that saw the Mob (humans) move in take to take advantage. Taking on more of a look of Outland.

If you must know Chloe annet is the actress who played the role of Kristine Kochanski in seasons 7&8 of the sci fi sitcom Red Dwarf, so being in a pilot for a tv show about a police 👮♀️ force in space wouldn’t be all that surprising to her.
its a shame space police wouldn't be done as full tv series but space precint was idea
