    Hi Rosanna
    I have OCD. I'm 51 years old and have a severe Anxiety Disorder which has robbed me from ever having a job, having kids and which made me live like a recluse for many many years.
    As I'm typing this, my gands are cracked from washing them too much.
    I have so often said I would just start a TH-cam channel but I'm always stuck.
    No tripod, no lighting, no phone who could make the lovely footage you make, highly insecure and no real concept.
    You are doing a fantastic job.
    Take it from me.
    Your voice is as that of a girl of 18 in a field filled with flowers and you don't look much older.
    A slow voice? That's a positive thing in this day and age.
    A simple approach, meaning no camera angle changing every 3 seconds? Finally!!!!
    This is accessible, pleasant, friendly, creative and lovely.
    If you read comments that complain... read how sadly short- sighted, short on empathy and patience these people are.
    People who say rude things while sitting and watching the other doing things... those people are either frustrated, compensating or plain sad nasty people.... Likely less of that latter group.
    But read all the comments if you want but focus and remember those which are nice.
    Much obliged for your videos.
    I say all this based on some of what you said in other videos but wasn't sure if it was better to write this in your last 1.
    1 question, won't this glue mold at some point?
    Have a great day everyone.... 😊.

      Presumably a), that’s why Rosanna only recommends making it in small batches at a time and secondly b), presumably keeping it in a jar in the fresh helps keep it “fresh”. I was actually going to ask how long it will keep in the fridge for?

    • @Rosannamakes
      @Rosannamakes  2 วันที่ผ่านมา +2

      Hello, thank you for writing and sharing your experience so openly. I understand anxiety and also OCD very well and I know it can completely consume someone's life. I really appreciate you commenting because it helps me to know that you find my videos helpful and also that some people actually don't enjoy short, well-edited, "slick" content 🤭 -- but more importantly, others might recognize themselves or parts of themselves in what you share and feel less alone or find some help in what you say. So I really do thank you for all the kind things you said about me and the videos but also for being very honest and real. I love that about this little community, we are here for the real things. ❤
      Oh and the cornstarch and mold issue - yes it will spoil at some point. I haven't had it do that in the fridge yet but my feeling is that it would be just fine for at least two weeks if kept cold between uses.. someone said they read 5 days somewhere but I haven't seen any rule written by anyone that I would consider an "expert." I added some drop of orange and clove essential oils to mine for the scent but in theory, that might also help prevent spoilage for a bit longer.

    • @Rosannamakes
      @Rosannamakes  2 วันที่ผ่านมา +2

      @sarahyates6055 I've had some in my fridge for over two weeks and it still seems fine, I mean I can't tell that it's any different in color or cloudiness or odor.. but I don't have any source to consult about shelf life so far. I googled but didn't find anything specific..

    You introduced me to the art of spun cotton and I'm now in the process of making a big batch of Christmas ornaments. In my research I discovered the use of the cornstarch binder. I love how affordable it is, how easy it is to whip up, and I absolutely love how it handles. Thank you for providing the clearest instructions for making the binder that I've come across. I'm excited to see all of your beautiful creations.

    I made some toadstools a few weeks ago and used cornstarch and got on with it much better than using diluted glue. It is easy to make and although it doesnt keep too long in the fridge it is very inexpensive. I will definitely make it again.

    Hello! This is only the second video I’ve seen of yours. I make and use this homemade cornstarch paste in my junk journaling and paper crafts. Lately, well this past year anyway, that is the “crafting” I’ve been into. But I want to try my hand at these spun cotton projects. I make my paste in a one to eight parts ratio. One part water, eight parts cornstarch. Takes just a few minutes to make. Thank you for your posts. I’ve enjoyed watching.

    I'm enjoying making my grandkids each a spun cotton ornament for christmas, Its going well so far. I experimented. I found out something interesting. I'm making some little snow bunnies, and found some popcorn ceiling patch I had only used a little of and I put it on a snow bunny and its awesome, I'm going to add some glitter to it as well. I have some potatoes I don't think will be eaten I'm going to see if I can make starch from it, seems like fun.

    there are videos on how to make your own potato starch. I have some tates that are getting eyes in the fridge--and decided that I'll eat them, but use the potatoe water to make starch. Looks pretty simple and you can get alot of it, you do use just a little bit of cornstarch along with the potato water. Here's one video

    I enjoy watching your videos SO very much! I've learned alot from watching you with spun cotton and I'm finding that I'm really enjoying making the few things I have made! I do struggle with the "sticking" part of using the glue mixture with the cotton. So with that being said, I'm truly appreciating wanting to try this starch recipe for the binding agent. Thank you so much for your talent and creativity and wanting to share it with all of us!
    Bless you and your family this holiday season and I look forward to creating, hopefully some ornaments very soon!❤❤❤❤

    Those ducks are adorable (as are all your characters). Well done on publishing the book, your illustrations are beautiful and I’m sure the story is too. Will you be creating a video of you reading it aloud too so children can follow along? I just wondered as you have such a lovely, soothing voice. It would make the perfect bedtime story, unless something tragic happens to the poor ducks that may bring on a nightmare😂 I’m just wondering if the cornstarch will deteriorate over time or attract bugs, react to damp or temperature change. In the UK we get such varied weather that some craft materials don’t hold up. I’m still going to give it a try as I find the glue a bit sticky. TYFS ❤

      Some people are suggesting adding certain types of essential oils that bugs find repellent.. but I don't have any hard data. Many old ornaments are still in good shape so I think they'll be fine unless you live somewhere where there is a real problem with insects and mice..

    So I warmly recommend using a pot at least 2x as deep as whatever one is cooking. Even if it's Jello. ;-)
