John Pinette was an incredible comic. Loved his stand up. He just brought a very human like touch to his comedy. One of the funniest I've ever listened to. RIP
John Pinett: get out of the line, at the water park, dieting, hiking, food in France/Italy… the list goes on. This man was incredibly funny. I was truly sad when he passed.
Rip John Pinette. Almost no one reacts to him and it's just a shame. He was my very first stand up comedian that I listened to on purpose. He's fantastic.
I saw John Pinette live a couple of times. Laughed till I cried each time. I had gotten tickets to a show so my kids could see him live. John worked clean. The show ended up getting postponed. Then John passed away a couple of months before the show. He’s been on Broadway and was in the Seinfeld series finale. Check out his routine about being dragged to a water park. Umm…I love coffee and sushi. Does this mean we can’t be friends?😊
John Pinette was a WONDERFUL, though frequently overlooked, comedian who always "worked clean". He also came off as very "friendly". Even his RANTS seemed more like "righteous indignation" instead of genuine anger or outrage. I absolutely LOVE his stuff! It always puts a "happy" smile on my face. (and his "voices" are really enjoyable) Also? I agree with you on Sushi. (AND coffee) I don't much like Fish normally. But RAW fish? No way!
Many people have problems with Indian food. It's not the 'hot' part that effects people so much, although that can play into it, its usually the other seasonings that aren't common in American cuisine. If you have a sensitive system eating Indian food for the first time can be nightmare. I'm thrilled you like John! He's one of my favorite comics. You should check out his Italian Food bit, I Say Nay Nay, and him camping with his friends. They are hysterical!
This skit was recorded in 1995, during this time most eastern cuisines and buffets were consider exotic and dined on rare occasions. Most people havent tempered their pallet to such foods and can have a strong effect to ones taste
Wow! Don't know if someone has mentioned this already, but here's the Shogun reference: Shogun was a best selling novel in the 1970's (I think) by the author James Clavell. The book was made into a very popular US TV miniseries in 1980. Lord Toronaga was a main character and was played by the veteran actor Toshiro Mifune
He reminds me a lot of Chris Farley. Not only being a hefty guy, but the self deprecating humor, taking it all in stride, the childlike wonder in his eyes when he gets a good laugh. He's really gonna be one of my favorite comedians now.
@@OliverWade-h1p go to Chicago or New York and try to get someone to eat a pizza from Dominos. They’re gonna ask you why you’re trynna get them to eat cardboard 😂😂 so yes there is a difference between good pizza and bad pizza. Same with sushi
@S0L12D3 that doesn't make sense. Of course if you go to 2 specific areas of the country, world famous for pizza they won't eat dominoes. I can't think of one singular place known for sushi because it's not for some people. Alot of people don't want raw fish, Quality or not.
@@OliverWade-h1p and not all sushi is raw fish. You are giving a perfect example of ignorance to the food. There are all types of sushi, cooked and raw. It’s the same as pizza. You can go to a gas station or a super market and get mediocre sushi. Even some buffets and restaraunts have mediocre sushi. Or you could go to a restaraunt that specifically specializes in sushi and notice a massive difference. You don’t have to go to New York to get good pizza. Even just my rural town in Mississippi we have an Italian restaraunt that serves really good quality pizza with fresh ingredients. You notice the difference. Stop excusing people’s laziness for why they don’t like foods. I know people who hate raw fish and love the sushi I show them. It’s all about knowing what to order. Some people like fish. Some people like shrimp. Same with pizza. Some people like pineapples on it. I hate pineapples on mine. Some people like buffalo chicken pizza some people like pepperoni. If someone doesn’t like fish well duh they’re not gonna like sushi. If someone doesn’t like cheese and tomato sauce they’re not gonna like pizza
@S0L12D3 I didn't know that people's preference in food made them lazy. I also didn't know sushi was so personal to you. What I'm telling you, is there are people that dont like sushi. You'd be hard pressed to find a single person to turn down a slice of pizza. Even a shitty gas station slice claps most sushi UNLESS you go to a restaurant that specializes. So like I said earlier, nobody says this type of thing about pizza. There's a reason it's always sushi.
Regarding coffee: if it helps, you may want to try like a sugar free french vanilla creamer (that's what I use) and it can make a world of difference. But yeah, I feel ya on the getting older and energy drinks thing, when I was 23 I could down 2-3 red bulls back to back, now I'm almost 45 and if I do more than 2 cups of coffee a day I'm wrecked.
Man, I miss this guy so much; he was so funny. Check out his pieces on going to Disney World in the high summer, and his adventures at a water park. As I recall, he got his start on the TV show 'Star Search,' like Sinbad and Louie Anderson. I don't care for sushi much, either; I think fish tastes better cooked - and I will NEVER eat a raw scallop again. You might like a song called 'Icky Yucky Sushi,' recorded by Chuck Pyle. And thanks for your tip on Euro buffets.
"Sushi is one of the most disgusting things you'll ever encounter in your entire life, along with coffee." As a coffee and sushi lover, that whole rant hurt, lol. great video though
Honestly the reaction to Chinese food I find is the same to sushi. Apparently every place for Chinese puts out the wrong stuff that leaves you hungry in minutes over here, but also over here is the best sushi I've ever had, it was all you can eat, with other sea food as well. Not in the mood for sushi? Well we got craw dads, lobster, crab, several forms of fish, rice, fries, pizza, and several other things. The sushi part alone was about the size of grocery isle in a gas station, double sided. I'll never forget volcano sushi, slightly spicy, but the topping also crackled a bit in your mouth, just the best.
Loved the reaction, and I can't ever get enough of John Pinette, Rest in Peace. What's your opinion on cooking with onions? You mentioned you didn't like onions, but what about cooking with them for the flavor.
Sushi is delicious, coffee is a staple, and there is nothing better than a raw slab of onion on a cheese burger. I agree with you on Indian food...I make a mean Butter Chicken.
John was great. its a shame there isnt more of his stuff that was recorded. i remember watching him on late night tv back in the 90s. the waterpark story is great, and a hike is a walk that sucks. he has many great bits
Have you tried the sweetened flavored creamers? Those mask the coffee taste fairly well if you aren’t a fan. They make sugar free varieties too for those who prefer.
Yeah, in 1995 the Indian food craze wasn’t as big as it is now. A whole different generation of people that acquired a taste for Indian food. I like Indian food, I like a lot of spicy food. But I see his point.
I saw somewhere Sumos eat just twice a day, spending five hours in training each morning, before lunch. They do eat a lot of carbs, in pasta, but their primary foods are a rich chicken or fish stew and a lot of various vegetables. A sumo eats about 4000 calories a day, which isn't a lot compared to skinny athletes like Michael Phelps, who would eat 12,000 calories a day during training. Sumos, by the way, wrestle in 15 day competitions every other month year round, so they have to maintain tnemselves at fighting weight year round.

I would eat more mushrooms.. but it starts out with 5 on first plate, 3 on second, 2 on third, and 1 on the fourth. If I get a random dessert plate then I'll get 1 more but by then my body is rejecting all the cream cheese and I can usually only get through half. But our "good" buffet has a good selection. I'd estimate around 40 items although 10 are things nobody should rightfully get such as hot dogs and fries lol edit: the plates they give you are the "medium" plates you have in your cupboard but I'm pretty sure I've been sat next to some actual big dudes who have had 10 plates and nobody has attempted to get them to stop haha
