Great Video! I vote we put Jo in charge of your silage from now on!
😂😂😂 I second that motion 👍🏻
Its amazing to see how optimistic your father stays, a good example for us all!
"Ginger " has seen and experienced it all before and life has gone on regardless .. a ledgend ! ☘️🌱🌿👍
Look at the knowledge you’re gaining, you’ll never forget these experiences which is money in the bank, maybe not today but it will be there don’t worry
Weather always has us at its mercy! It’s been off everywhere and nothings growing as it should. Great video and absolutely loved seeing Joanna and Harvey. Love seeing your dad and hearing his experience. Thank goodness we have people like you and your dad that work so hard and are so dedicated to farming to bring us the food and nutrition we need to survive. ❤❤
Hope your enjoying your first Father’s Day and gets some time with little man, they grow up so fast! Happy Father’s Day to all ❤
So happy to see Joanna and Harvey AND the pup!!! Mother Nature is always in charge. Wishing you a very HAPPY 1ST FATHERS DAY!!
All the stressing in the world won’t change the outcome. Like you said, you took a chance. If it hadn’t’ve been for the Monday rain, you’d’ve been a hero.
I do like the family updates. 15 years from now we’ll be seeing Harvey working the farm, and we can say we’ve seen him come along the whole time.
Can you even imagine doing TH-cam for the next 15 years?
The highs & lows of farming. Family is no.1 👍👍👍
Dad's character will fit in beautifully on Clarkson's farm 🤣🤣 🤎🤎
Tom, I hate seeing you so stressed. Beating yourself up is not good. You and your dad made a decision and now you move forward. Breathe and enjoy your Father's day and your father's Father's day.
Life is too short, Tom. Rain is bounty, crops are bounty...its all good in the end. :)
Your father is a very wise man. In my opinion always listen to your father because he has a wealth of experience.
I think they listen to each other’s opinion but the Father has authority over alll
To be honest mate I don’t know what you’re stressing about. Grass was long, just get it off and straight in, don’t even worry about drying next time. Even now, don’t stress, it is what it is, you have a mixer wagon, you can make whatever ration you need too with what you have to work with. Us poor dairy guys here in Aussie don’t have mixer wagons, so how you bale it is how it’s fed, big stress to get it right. You got it good with the options you have… use them 👏👏
Youve learnt another lesson i suppose mother nature decides to prove the weatherman wrong😂, it was great to see Jo and Harvey❤ happy fathers day to all❤❤
So nice to see Jo the wee lad, so glad to see them happy and in good health.
I love how you both laughed at the same time when Jo said about the GPS.
Life does not require anyone to be perfect. Never be too hard on yourself.
Happy Father's Day! ❤️🎉
Please don't beat yourself up anymore. You know what they say about hindsight...
Oh my goodness!!!! We got to see the baby!!! He is precious!!! Love the video and the boy!!! Try and forget the weather and focus n him! Know it’s hard to forget after that work!
Dad is a very knowledgeable farmer, appreciate his experience
Farming is THE hardest profession. Take the bad times when they come and wait for the good times. It will swing back again. Farmers are resilient.
Good family catch up episode for Father's Day.
Don't berate yourselves over the fortunes of the weather, Tom. Make what you can of what you have and go forward.
Tom Pemberton Farm Life remember last year was el nino year which means bad weather always seems to follow the next year your still a puppy you'll catch on in time if you keep that in mind it will benefit you when making such decision's in the future
may i take this opportunity to thank you and all farmers for all the hard work you do to feeding our nation
Your dad is a champ, don't worry about people feed back, sun will comeback . Cher up and carry on boy .
No guts No glory and nobody remembers a chicken 😉 but never regret the choice you done, win some and loose some. Harvy and the wife steals the show , Keep on Keeping on and stay safe you all.
Hahah I like that. No one’s remembers a chicken! 😂
Wonderful seeing the family and I love seeing your wife and cutie son.
Don't beat yourself up, Tom. It will all work out. And now you have more experience, although it may taste a bitter pill. Love seeing Jo and Harvey!!! I remember thinking when we first met Jo that she was so beautiful and girly that I couldn't imagine her as a farmer's wife. Boy have I changed my opinion. She definitely rocks!!!! Checking weather, digging through the grass. If she can overcome her fear of cows....Love your videos and your family!!!
So glad that you can escape sometimes and enjoy being with the family. What a stressful and unpredictable work life you have. Those people who complain about being asked to do some overtime should watch a few of your vlogs!🤗
We definitely needed a visit with Jo and your son. Thank you for that! All the focus from you these past months has been about building up the farm. While you have been building up something even more important: your family.
Your Wife and Son look so happy and content, ( wife
happy) and Son (content). You are a lucky man. You by the way look great.
If farming was easy everyone would be doing it. You and ginger Warrior spoke about when to go. It's a big gamble sometimes it works, sometimes it doesn't. This years weather has been anything but predictable. Happy 1st fathers day Tom.
Tom , you and your dad do the best you can, making decisions between you both…….you talk over the pros and cons and at some point you just have to decide and there’s no sense looking back and beating yourself up about it. It’s done and over, now chalk it up to a learning lesson and know that there is always a second cut. ❤❤❤
😄 Good to see the dairy kid enjoy his milk with dad and mum 👍
Great to see Jo and Harvey, both looking well and Harvey looks so much like his mum🥰 The weather has been so frustrating this last half year or more and considering the money spent on the Met Office forecasting system they are pants. Sometimes you have to go with your gut feeling Tom, however your dad has had so much experience it’s a gamble whichever way you go. Great video as ever and lovely to see you got some family time together.
Nah, Harvey wasn't reacting badly to the sun when you and Jo had him out in the field. He was just realising that by the time he's old enough to help out on the farm the fields still won't be dried out.
No point in stressing what should have been, it is what it is at this point and you have to work around it. Analyse your decision making and use the information for next time, when you are dealing with weather you won't be right every time. Been such a wet and cold first half of the year, a very difficult year so far 😊
It's always great to see you, Charlotte, Joe, , Olly etc having family time.
Take a breath Tom. You cannot control the weather. You have not failed.
I hope the hay beats your expectations. Chances are good second cut will be much better. Shake it off.
Happy Father’s day❤❤
Loved seeing the baby boy and the sweet wife!
It is what it is, Tom, just remember you're not alone 💜, Tom. im sure plenty of farmers are having the same issues. You do your best, and that's all that can be asked. It is lovely to see Jo and little Harvey he is growing so fast, bless him.
Happy Farthers Day to you and Andrew. Have a great day 💜
It’s great to have a Sunday vlog. Tom is more busy than ever before
It's a shame how it's worked out for you guys. But as a farmer and silage contractor myself, it's kind of refreshing to see the real struggles making good silage can be on you tube. We've all taken the same gamble at some stage and alot have lost at some point. Hindsight is awesome but you've just got the play the hand Your delt😉. Great to see the Young fella. Again, great to see all sides of farming
Thanks mate, it’s nice to know other people have been in this situation 🙈
Nice to see family…. You get smarter with each decision right or wrong… on you go😉
Nice to see you with the family.
I also work a lot and can be away or many evenings not at home also. So when get the time to be at home make the most of it and it’s important.
Sometimes I take my son to work with me he loves it.
Your videos are FANTASTIC!!! Getting a real look at the struggles you go through with the weather…. Unbelievable!!! I feel for your frustration and I am impressed with your ability to function as a Farmer a Husband/ Father & Son. Well done!
Our favourite walk, Fairhaven to Lytham windmill, then back through the shops and Lowther gardens. Lovely happy family intro Tom. Weather looking slightly better towards the end of the month. You channel shows us the trials of farming in the north west.
You made the choice you did at the time as you though it was the correct thing to do. You should have a pit full of maize silage next winter which will make the bulk of the cows winter diet. I have made silage in fantastic sunshine and even picked up in rain, one year we put a layer of straw bales in the bottom of the clamp and buck raked the grass over it, the straw turned out to be a brilliant winter feed for heifers being soaked in effluent/ juice, we didn't loose any goodies in the grass. Get your silage analysed in 2 months and with the feed rep work out the cows winter rations, your going to need more protein anyway with all the maize. Look forward to the 2nd cut.
Silage time is very stressful when the weather isn't on your side. I'm hoping to get on with 2nd cut, but the weather isn't great.
Everyone can get it wrong. that's how you learn. At least now you can tell your dad that you're taking over the silage making decisions after his mistakes this time!
Better luck for the second cut!
Morale of the story is watch the weather!!!
Awwww…Tom. You made the best decisions you could with the info you had at the time. And you had your dad’s input as well. You did the best you could. We are proud of you for showing the highs and lows. Most of social media edits out the lows. We hate to see you beating yourself up so badly. Hind sight is always 20/20. You are an excellent farmer. And you have a beautiful wife and baby. Be kind to yourself. Hug that wife and baby of yours.
Pleased to see Jo looking well 😊
And of course, Lil' Harvey looking adorable😊
I love your dog. It reminds me so much of the one I used to have Millie who I had for 14 years. A great dog with kids.
Lovely to see the family you’re a very lucky family all the best keep flogging along you’ll never make the right decisions in farming with the weather
I feel your pain. Been there in past years. Your father has seen it all before.
Great to see Jo and Harvey. Astroturf!!! Really? Who'd be a farmer in a year like this? Any decision is such a gamble.
Loved the Family bits ❤❤❤ No Question who Harvey came from lol Lovely Family ❤ Joanne is looking Fabulous. Brilliant having AstroTurf at Home+
Love the family videos! Don’t worry about the grass. Milk cows are much worse silage decades ago.
Don't get stressed out about this Tom I would have done same thing all we have to do is learn from it and move on that is we can do right
Nice haircut, sorry about the silage, family healthy and happy, which is all that matters in the long run ..... loving the mowers .... Happy Fathers Day ...
The grass cut may not be going to plan but it was so great you got the Maize on!!
Tom it i always a good thing to see your son and you at home. :)
Thank you for sharing your beautiful family. Jo looks amazing and Harvey is so adorable
Hi Tom
Been looking forward to seeing this video. I was talking to you at Olly's a few weeks back and you were saying you had just cut it and it was really wet,,, now i believe you😅.
Your only human and life would be boring if we got everything right all the time.
Your a top bloke who keeps us entertained.
Enjoy your Fathers day with your lovely family.
Cheers Tom
Andy, ( Tractor Grandad😊 )
I told you ! 😂
Wait until the next video 😂
@TomPembertonFarmLife
😂😂😂 I'm looking forward to it Tom, keep up the good work mate...
It will be fine tom if you have left it in Swath. it's when you tedd it out that's when it knackered it and thats why I prefer a straight disc mower over mower conditioner as straight disc just cuts a lays it down like a thatched roof and rain just runs off but conditioner breaks and throws the grass all over the place so the water just runs through the swath in my opinion
Exactly right RE the conditioner. Plus the extra fuel use.
very true it was still in swaths and yes better with out conditioner but what could he have done , i would have waited and I did cut the same day he did and picked it up the next day
Farmers are gamblers, you win some, you lose some. Bites but it is what it is. Good luck.
I feel you man, losing first cut sucks, because that should be the premium feed for the winter. And that grass looks like compost already...😬
this year's 1st cut will be an interesting one for next year's feed, super feel for farmers having to fight the weather all year
Your face when you and Jo were under that awning. 🤣😂🤣😂🤣😂
I love seeing you three together having fun.
Listen to the wisdom of your dad on this one - you cannot undo what has been done and you now have to deal with what you have got - making the right decisions now to deal with the current situation in the best way using the collective knowledge you have between you rather regret, recrimination and tempestuous reaction is the way to get through this.
I loved the behind the scenes family video Tom and Jo
Absolutely loved seeing your family Tom hope u enjoyed your father's day
There are no 2 years the same in farming! I don’t think there is a farmer out there who hasn’t been caught out by the weather at some point 😊live and learn
love seeing your beautiful family!
It happens Tom. Every farmer had this at least a couple of times. It is what it is.
Love the video of a bit of family time. And bummer on the grass. Did you fail? The real question is ... did you learn anything from this? If you did, then . didn't fail. You learned a valuable lesson for next time.
Farming is a gamble. You make the best choice tou can at the time & pray that mother nature doesn't make you look like a fool.
Weathermen can't predict what she's going to do, no matter how much they try.
Just breathe.
Happy Father's day to you, your dad, & all the dad's in your family. 😊🥰
Yeah I defo learnt from this year
Great video- great to see Jo and Harvey
Jo was right, should’ve cut Friday 😬😂 could’ve slept on Sunday and Monday then 😁
Even the weather forecast people get it wrong a fair bit so what chances have we got so no point worrying about it just do what you can for now
good to see the family update and how well the little one is doing
Sunday videos are always great for catching up with a little behind-the-scenes, seeing the family, etc. everyone have a good week. Be well be you.
I’m sure it’s just spitting, little legs growing, great to see you out!
Tom no need to stress yourself over what should've been done and be more optimistic about the situation. Stress will kill you i had a friend die with a Stressful heart attack everything will work out. Stay safe.
Good to see the family and you at home. Having done what you do it doesn’t get to happen often.
10:17 gotta ask. Cut higher next time? Leave more behind that’s standing on a 10-20 stubble? Quicker regrowth. Higher quality.
Good content Tom. Great to see the highs and lows. You can't win them all, and its all a learning experience. Also, love the family update. Happy fathers day to you and your dad.
I find it interesting how dry you try and get the grass before chopping. here we mow and chop a few hours after.
Tedder, Tedder, Tedder, we have had 3 inches on cut hay and Teddered it back to life and it fed wonderfully
As Dad says last thing you want in Silage is dirt, soil, or such like contaniments which will bring on rotting of silage. so better to go for poor quality than dirty silage
Happy Fathers Day to you and Ginger Warrior man !!!! Rain rain go away, come again another DAY…..
I know Tom, everyone makes wrong decisions sometimes. Yes it is your income, so yes it is worse than for me with only 10 sheep. In Belgium, I haven't been able to mow at all yet because I know I can't get the hay dry. But as the saying goes, “After rain comes sunshine!” Keep your head up, everything will work out in the end!
Don’t beat yourself up over it. Decisions were made, right or wrong. Laugh it off and move on 😊
Awesome seeing your day off, Jo and son. 🥰
Love and prayers 😇💜
The hardship never ends!
Love the raining shot with Hays Travel across the street, you should have gone and booked a Jamaica vacation! You’ll always second guess yourself, but you have to be an optimist to be a farmer.
Good to see Jo and Harvey - Jo you are looking great
We have had rain here in the WINDSOR ONT. CANADA and late with crops but got a break and put hay in silage bunker silo.
Tom, enjoy Father’s Day! May you have many more!! How J and baby doing!? She is looking so good!
I am surprised you didn't Ted the hay
I have been there when trying to make hay, The feeling of loss when the hay you just cut gets rained one day after another. I have found that if the hay or grass smells stinks, you will know, after the second rain, It's not worth the fuel to put it away. We would often chop the hay back on the field. and wait for second cut. Or round bale the hay sell it or use it for bedding.
Pick yourself up brush it off n keep going forward . The weather has been garbage upto now but will improve . Great content as always tom n good to see the family . Ya dad's seen it all before , the old n the young will always see it differently but dad n lad are a great combo 👍
Its wete here in Belgium as well. It started raining on october 12th, and it hasn't been dry 4 days in a row since. I heard a guy talking about how someone he knew was havesting last years potato's now so they wouldn't have to spray them dead once they popped out again. And the worst thing is: there is no hope of improving.
We need more vlogs like this really enjoy it and little mans doing great well done tom thank you again for the amazing vids you give us and a short snip in to your life and what you get up to what a legend you are
