  • Prior to selling the CCM604 I decided to ride it on one last adventure.
Over a three day period in May 2023, I rode around the Irish sea, taking in all five nations along the way, and sticking to the scenic route as much as I could. A memorable ride, not least for my nether regions, on that Enduro style seat. Rode through the Mountains of Mourne, around the Ulster GP circuits (again), through the Galloway forest Park, over the Hardknott and Wrynose Passes in the Lake district, down through the Forest of Bowland, and finally back home to Anglesey.
My old mate Phil joined me for the ride through the Lancashire leg on his Spitfire.

Great to see a CCM loaded up with luggage. Looks like the speedo packed up just in time to ride around the Ulster circuit :) Loved the video.

Yeah, I love keeping things simple, reminds me of the saddle bags on horses in the good old westerns. It actually stopped working on its own, honest! But you're right, CCM Speedos only do about 250 miles on average before going wrong. To be fair I had 'fabricated' my own wheel spacers to get the road wheels to fit, didn't quite get the Speedo drive 'right first time' All sorted now I'm home. Thanks for the kind words, glad you enjoyed it.

The Speedos on these are bloody awful.. worth installing an aftermarket GPS Speedo!

Great piece of video editing. Bike sounds lovely.

Thanks, I did put a bit of effort in this time, moderately happy with the result, but it's so time consuming, and I could go on for ever! 'Rolling Thunder!' was that saying made up for CCM's, or do you think it's been applied to a lot of other stuff as well. I have the T shirt. As I'm sure is the case with the KTT, it sounds even better in person.

@@MarkDaleADV I might try and use music in segments of non speaking parts of my rides never done a separate audio track so might be tricky also need copyright free track otherwise all that time and effort of making the video would be useless.
And yea I’ve noticed when trying to edit up my videos where I let the camera roll and later cut out the bits I don’t want bloody ages.
That’s why I preferred my original efforts where I only had to cut the front and the back off

@@velofan. You should try it, I imagined with your musical background you might also try to rustle up some mood music of your own? Another definite advantage if you could. Whatever, there appears to be plenty of royalty free music out there, however as you probably realise, the world is divided between people who want to hear the bike, and those that appreciate some musical enhancement, I guess as long as it's not blanket techno, most don't mind a mixture of the two approaches.

@@MarkDaleADV I’ve seen a few dare devil videos on the tube over in Europe with banging techno music. I didn’t enjoy but I figure if it’s done like your bid with a mixture or spoken. Bike noise. Music it can work quite nicely.
And yes loads of free royalty free music but would take some digging to find anything that’s appropriate.
I doubt I would be able to record a track for my bike videos but it’s possible.
