They all trained for about 4 years (the oldest Ruka for about 6 years and the youngest Chiquita less than 2 years) They have a pre-debut song and video titled "Dream". A song reflecting their journey through training and what it's mean to them. Initially, they're debut song was supposed to be "Batter Up" which was released Nov 27 2023, but this isn't considered their official debut song, because Ahyeon was on medical hiatus for a health reason. But they already had commitments, so they released "Batter Up" and the other 6 girls asked not to promote the song because they weren't complete without Ahyeon. "Batter Up" is a very YG coded song and it led a lot of people to call Babymonster nothing but a Black Pink clone. They were way too quick to judge. The "brrrrrr" sound you mentioned with Asa's rap comes from this song and has kind of been her signature as of late. While Ahyeon was still recovering they also release the ballad song "Stuck in the Middle" which a song about being stuck in a relationship without the other person truly stating their feelings. This is a vocal powerhouse of a song and the visuals are super crazy. Ahyeon finally returned and they released what is now known as the official debut of Babymonster on April 1 2024 with "Sheesh". This M/V broke all sorts of records and currently has over 300M views. It's a darker toned song to capture more of the monster part of their personalities. Then they released the Babymons7er mini-album that included "Batter Up", "Stuck in the Middle", and "Sheesh", but they recorded new 7 member versions of the original 2 songs with Ahyeon back. The mini-album also includes "Like That", which is a song that Charlie Puth gifted to them after hearing Ahyeon cover his song "Dangerously". It's got a very classic 2000s RnB vibe and they only released a Performance Video for it (it could be an MV with how good it is). They came back with the song "Forever" and included an MV. This is a summer song and a Babymonster take on classic synthpop, but of course there's an amazing rap break for Ruka and Asa to tear up. "Forever" ended being one of the songs from their first full-length album "Drip" released Nov 1 2024, which you obviously just heard the title track for.
