I’m planning on visiting the Maldives next year. Have been watching so many videos but haven’t heard of Fun Resort or the other one mentioned. Are they not well-known? Thanks for the tips 👍🏽
Thank you). I hope you might find time to recommend the best resort to visit taking into consideration an average budget and your personal experience. It will be a valuble opportunity to people to hear your input and share their views here as well. Kind regards.
TravelTip Yes I had done this trip on a budget but it worked out really well. we stayed at Thulusdhoo island, went snorkeling, sand bank, and saw dolphins. There are locals on the island as well. They are very nice. I will upload my video soon and will let you know. My trip was not as luxurious as yours hehe but I had a great time. I love the music in your video too.
thanks for the tips we are going to Cinnamon Dhonveli Maldives with the new water suites, in nov/dec, second visit to the maldives last time it was before the Tsunami, and i know its change a lot, we have friends who had time to go and help out with the work of repairing everything and stayed their 3 months and they were treated like kings, looking forward again and thanks for a great video
I think u have done a good reveiw about maldives.i have seen lot of videos.but there not usefull.they are not tell about budget, good resorts, advantages, prices to us.u done a great work.i wish that you can do lot of videos like this.😘😘
Hey, Liked your video so much. a lot of insight and traveling tips. I am planning as well. can you tell me what equipment you took with yourself, means type camera for video capture, or for still pictures. and any other tips regarding making video or taking pics.
Best description I have come across till now.. Amazing! I am confused between Holiday Inn kandooma islands and olhuveli beach resort and spa. As one can go to fun island as well from olhuveli.. Please suggest which one to choose..
Hi, Holiday Inn is next to Guraidhoo populated island but believe me it still has better beach than Olhuveli. The Olhuveli resort is good in terms of infrastructure but beach can be graded as 4 of 10.
What does "there will be no women's swimwear rule" mean? Does this mean they can go without swim suits, or that they can wear whatever kinds of swimwear they want?
Yes, you are right, it's an ambiguous meaning in my explanation. It means that if the lady is on a populated island of Maldives, then she cannot walk around this island in a swimwear. For this they have certain beach areas on the populated island. And even at this areas she cannot wear bikini. But if she travels to a private island resort then she can freely walk around in a swimwear.
Maldives is muslim country. On resorts, women can wear bikini on beaches, but cover the top in restaurants. On populated islands, there are separate corners reserved for tourists called bikini beaches , on rashdhoo where I stayed, bikini are allowed, but when walking tru the town, even on the way to bikini beaches, you must cover hair, shoulder chest with shawl. Local hosts can give you 5 minutes lesson how to dress properly. Living at BB on populated islands is much cheaper than in resorts and you can learn about local cultures. Foods are expensive and of few choices. No pork products nor alcohols.
hi, nice video....thanks for sharing the useful tips. Can you please share in which month was this video actually shot ? I m planning to go in june but getting lots of no's from people because of monsoons. TIA
Please pay attention that the weather is Maldives is fine almost all year round. The worst thing is 2-3 days of rain during the day or night. The video was shot in March and it was not a high season.
Hello, just one question....if u visit a resort, can u eat( lunch and dinner) for example in that restaurant "Sunset"??even if u are not stayed inthe resort?? And the food, you have a choice of meat and fish??, because iam feed up of burguers and pizza.. Thanks sandra
Hello, prior to the visit you will make prepayment for a daylight stay at the resort (approximately from 10.00 to 18.00). Usually this prepayment includes fee for lunch but no drink (no water). You can walk freely around the island. I gave Olhuveli as an example but there are other much better resorts for same price. Olhuveli is a bit overpriced and water near the beach has seaweed areas. For me that was not pleasant experience. Please not it before planning your visit.
Thank you for your interest, hope it was helpful. Yes, it's in dollars. And it's really expensive if you travel with family. I mean if you travel to a private resort. Hotel on a populated island might be not the vocation that you have expected from Maldives trip. So I strongly advice to collect additional money (maybe reschedule the trip) and spend those collected money only for private island resort.
Hello, by making this video I just wanted to share my experience. I recommend you to keep searching for various places in Maldives. First make sure that there is no seaweed around but corals. The beach on Olhuveli is not better than on Fun Island, the price and infrustructure is different. Both places have some parts of seaweed. Good luck!
Hey I wachted this video and I decided to go to this hotel but I write to the hotel and the wrote me ageun and says that fun Island is another resort it is right??? And the don't offer tour for one day to fun Island
Right. These are two different resorts in immediate proximity. They would not organize the tour, but they can ask special speed boat service to do it. But it will cost you big money if you are a family. You will pay per person not for the boat. For me it is not necessary to travel from expensive to moderate resort. Usually people do the opposite way.
Excellent Video I guess u have covered almost everything in this video except for water sports. Kindly provide some info And also I would like to recheck U have mentioned that transfer from Airport to Olhuveli resort is $270 per person, Any other and comparatively cheaper option ?
Thank you for your kind words). Various water sports activities are offered on all islands. If you go to private resort island then there will be one (or two) scuba diving centre. Those centres do not compulsory belong to the resort owner but have mutual agreement to work together. Scuba diving centres offer more or less same prices at all resorts. But prices of scuba diving centres on populated islands (where guesthouses and affordable hotels are located) are cheaper, at the same time the equipment also is not that high quality and not that well maintained as on private islands. If you go to resort then be prepared that scuba diving prices will be comparatively high (there aren't many people at resorts who wish to use the scuba diving centre products actively - because of the high price). I give as example the following 4,5 - 5 star resorts' prices: Scuba Dive (one dive) - 53$, Six day Non limit Scuba Diving - 560$, Scuba Diving Course (one dive) - 125$, Scuba Diving Course (second dive) - 110$, Beginner Scuba Diving Course: open water, seven dives (incl. equipment, boat fees etc) - 995$, Nitrox course (two dives) - 310$, bubblemaker (one dive) - 110$, underwater digital camera for rent (one day) - 38$, Day/night snorkelling trip (manta, turtle) - 44$ (adult), 18 (kid), Snorkelling reef safari - 51$, , speedboat - 350$ (per hour). You can go kayaking. Some resorts offer kayaks for free, but be careful - there are some not noticeable but still currents, so you will struggle your way back to the resort if go far away. If you still havn't decided about resort then I recommend you to study other options except Olhuveli. I found that place overpriced taking into consideration the beach quality and close location to Maafushi. You can find good places somewhere in the center of Baa or Raa atolls. You can reach any resort in Maldives only by speedboat (plane). Other way will be regarded as trespassing. It is a private property and they have their own rules. Private taxi boats are not allowed to enter private resorts. Ferries do not stop at resorts as well.
@@traveltip5543 Thank you so much for explaining everything in detail Especially the elucidation of Scuba Diving is excellent Thx again, will trouble you again for some more info, with your permission of course

I’d like to travel to Maldives from UK on a budget. What are the best resorts near Male that you can reach by speedboat? Or are the further away ones by sea plane much better and worth the huge price difference?
Yes, the further you travel from populated islands the more chance to find pure beaches. At the same time don't take the plane if you are going to land near the populated island no matter where you go. Google the place - it really helps.
Hi Queen, the procedures in airport were really fast and simple. The visa is given on arrival when you produce your passport (and hotel/resport reservation documents if needed) to the border control officer. It took around 30 minutes for everything. It was no "body or luggage search". Just some questions of the of the officer (like "how are you?" "how was your flight?" "first time or not?" "where are you going to stay" etc). Then we left the arrival zone straight to the speedboat counter (in the airport), waited 10-15 minutes before going to the jetty.

October until third decade of November - there is a cloudy weather, less sun but still you can swim anytime. Please, note that the 24 hour non-stop rain is very rear in Maldives. It could rain at night but be sunny in the afternoon. Soon I will present real time photo/video on whole year (365 days) weather conditions in Maldives. So you can see yourself what was the weather like on a certain day.
Maldives is on the equator, hot and sunny all year round. the rain even in the rain season is brief, 30 to 60 minute then stop though rain can return. Just watch the cloud in horizon.

when is rainy season in maldives ?
October until third decade of November - there is a cloudy weather, less sun but still you can swim anytime. Please, note that the 24 hour non-stop rain is very rear in Maldives. It could rain at night but be sunny in the afternoon. Soon I will present real time photo/video on whole year (365 days) weather conditions in Maldives. So you can see yourself what was the weather like on a certain day.
Maldives is on the equator, hot and sunny all year round. the rain even in the rain season is brief, 30 to 60 minute then stop though rain can return. Just watch the cloud in horizon.
