Sir water in a plants are taken by roots but why them stem of upper part got growth and the lower part dint get ...... I means lower part is attached to roots why it dint get growth

Because synthesized food pass through phloem tissue. When we made a ring like structure on stem by removing phloem tissue food does not transferred to the below parts. Thatrwhy upper part got growth.
