    www.revzilla.co...
    For short-cuff motorcycle gloves that provide great protection, comfort, and don’t break the bank, the Scorpion SGS MK II Gloves are an option that stand at the top of the list. Built to a track-day spec, and then just shortened to allow for more comfort and mobility of the wrist, the SGS MK 2 Gloves are constructed of goat leather and are pre-curved for all-day riding comfort. When adding in the Carbon Fiber knuckle reinforcements, Knox SPS palm sliders, and hard TPU finger protectors, it is easy to see the immense bang-for-your-buck that comes with the Scorpion SGS MK II short-cuff motorcycle gloves.

    These MKII gloves are among the best short-cuff gloves you could put your money on. I own 6 pairs for my gf and I; that should tell you how much I love these gloves. My only complaint is that the original SGS version (discontinued in 2016) was a slightly-better glove, but this current MKII is, in my opinion, one of the Top 5 short cuff gloves currently. I've reviewed many short-cuff gloves, including these MKII, and the MKIIs always leave me astonished with how heavy duty and up to the task they are. Think of them as do-it-all motorcycle gloves with tons of protection. You cannot go wrong with the MKII gloves and, for the money, these are the bargain. 100% recommended!

    Thanks for the detailed review!. I just ordered these SGS MK II gloves (from RevZilla, of course, and also my 1st purchase from RevZilla). I hope they're as nice in person as they are on video.

    looks like an excellent new product, will def be picking this up from you guys.. i bought the originally sgs from you guys 2 years ago.. i loved them. its seen the 2 seasons with roughly 25k miles from my 600rr and drz and the only complaint ive had is the stitching came apart many times to the point that i had to restitch and sew the gloves. but otherwise for $80, you cant go wrong. thanks for the review! you guys are awesome

      +hardcorechrisFSU The new stitching should eliminate the seam issues you experienced. -DrewZilla

    Sounds like I'm awful lucky to have a pair of the previous version! lol. (Mine have some wear...and aren't the color I'd prefer...but again, I'm lucky to have them.)
    Great protection and...as I see here...I may need to scour the web to find a backup pair of the old SGS's. But...I do agree that this is still a great glove for the $, even if they had to change a lot of stuff to make it feasible to produce.

    Owned the original SGS and am glad to see the super material stuff go. So many scratches from that stuff. Do you know if these are all external stitches?? If so i think ill be trading up to these.

    • @RevZilla
      @RevZilla  8 ปีที่แล้ว +4

      +Justin Gengler The palm side of the four fingers is externally stitched, but the thumb is internally stitched as are the backs of the fingers (this is normal even for race gloves). Hope this helps! -DrewZilla

    I want to order these but unsure on the sizing. I'm 8 1/2 inches palm circumference and according to the size chart that puts me right in the middle of L or XL.
    What do you suggest @revzilla ?

    • @BarefootSurfer
      @BarefootSurfer 3 ปีที่แล้ว

      I have the same question but with 7.5 inch palms and am stuck between M or L. Did you size up or down?

    • @CyrilHelnwein
      @CyrilHelnwein 3 ปีที่แล้ว +3

      @@BarefootSurfer I went down, leather gloves always loosen up after a while. If they’re really too tight when you get them, just return for a size up.

    Do you need a full gauntlet glove for the street?

    • @RevZilla
      @RevZilla  8 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      +Two Wheels and Tech They aren't necessary, but they do provide more wrist coverage and protection. Gauntlet gloves are also more comfortable if your jacket has really narrow cuffs. -DrewZilla

    how is the external stitching for the fingers doing with the controls ?

    • @RevZilla
      @RevZilla  8 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      Using the controls is not affected. Consider that motorcycle race gloves usually have external finger stitching, and racers have plenty of control. -DrewZilla

    If my hand measures in at 9 1/2" should I order the XL or the 2XL?

    • @RevZilla

    If you had to decide between these, the original SGS, or the Klaw 2's for mild climate riding, which would you pick?

    • @RevZilla
      @RevZilla  8 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      +Catman I'd go with these, the SGS Mk II. I agree with Anthony that the switch to a goat palm is fine, but the biggest improvements are the split knuckle and the better-placed scaphoid protection. -DrewZilla

    Hey guys! I'm actually thinking about purchasing these gloves or the Cortech Impulse ST, but after almost an hour reviewing them, in your webpage and other places, I have seen some negative comments about their quality, so I wanted to get a final opinion from the pros at RZ, which one is better? and are they worth buying now? Thanks in advance!

    • @RevZilla
      @RevZilla  7 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      It does seem there have been some issues with the SGS Gloves, though they're still a good option for the price. The Impulse ST Gloves seem to be holding up a little better. Right now I'd lean more towards the Impulse gloves. -DrewZilla

    If you had to decide between these and the Alpinestars smx 2 v2 which would you pick?

    • @RevZilla
      @RevZilla  6 ปีที่แล้ว

      Looking at the Joe Rocket Super Moto, Joe Rocket Speedway, Alpinestars SMX-1 Air, SMX-2 Air Carbon v2, and Scorpion SGS MK II, the Scorpion Gloves offer the most protection. However, they don't hold up as long as the SMX-2 Air Carbon v2. If your budget is $80, go with the SMX-2 Air Carbon v2. If you stretch your budget to $100, go with the Alpinestars SPX Air Carbon Gloves. -DrewZilla

    I’m torn at the moment, maybe someone can help. I’m between these gloves (mk2) or possible icon persuit perforated. I ride a Harley Streetglide. I feel the icons will not offer much protection in the case of a fall but will have better ventilation. On second hand the mk2 will offer that protection but be bulkier and look more like a street bike glove. Any thoughts are welcome

    • @RevZilla
      @RevZilla  6 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      It seems you're more concerned about protection than vanity, which I'd say is a good thing. A lot of Harley riders have gone with the SGS Gloves. If you want the protection, go with the Scorpion gloves. For something in between, consider the Alpinestars Celer Gloves. -DrewZilla
