I have heard Vitas and he cannot even begin to compare to Dimash. The sound, the tone of their voices, is so different. Dimash's voice, and every note he hits, is so pure, so pristine, so perfect and beautiful -- no matter how high he gets, or how low. I cannot say that about Vitas. I don't find Vitas's voice to be so pure and pristine, nor beautiful. In fact, I find, to my ears, his voice to be quite irritating. With Dimash, His voice and his stage presence is perfect! You don't just hear him sing, you feel his singing ... in his voice and his body. Dimash makes a song come to life. Dimash is truly one-of-a-kind. Thank you for reacting to Dimash. His stage presence is amazing, he was born to it. But it's his ability to "wear a song as a glow" and emotionally step into the character of the song the moment he starts to sing which is amazing. The Singer is an very unusual show - it's for famous established singers, on invitation only, which already is an honor. Dimash was invited as kind of an experiment - completely unknown to the Chinese audience and the youngest ever at 22. The audience are the judges - the same for the whole show and picked out for diversity. Already the first song made him a superstar in China. After the airing of the first episode they asked him if he wanted security leaving the studio, he laughed not understanding why until he stepped out seeing the huge crowd waiting.

Hey ! Yep a legendary performance from Dimash ! It's sad that he can't sing it anymore, I would loved to see this one live one day ^^' Anyway, yep,the notes are C6, C#6, D6, D#6, two semi-tones higher than Vitas. But, what makes this performance spectacular is his stage presnece, the way he arranged the song, the dynamics, and just the fun he had, you can feel it ^^ The people you see in the room are his contestants, they are well-known and professional chinese singers. The show is "The Singer" and it's a contest between thoses singers. It's 13 weeks of competition, Dimash did just so much amazing performances there. He was the only unknown, he was there as a wildcard, didn't knew a word of chinese (or english at that time), just came the first week, opened the show, sang SOS (the one you saw in first, in French) and won the episode. When you got out of your chair I almost fell out of mine laughing. Vitas' management company requested that he not sing this song again. His dad flew in and surprised him. He saw him in the wings as he was thanking the orchestra. Their reunion was very touching. The other people are the other competitors who do get to vote on who they thought did the best along with 500 audience members. Those members vote throughout the whole competition so you'll see the same faces over the length of the shows. I can't wait for your next reaction.
There's a reason Dimash was prohibited from ever singing this again, and also prohibited from ever singing his cover of Lionel Richie's "Hello" again too. As you say, there are some rare male vocalists who can reach the high notes of Dimash (though you're far from having heard his highest yet and I'm not aware of any who approach Dimash's D8 whistle note). But if you know of any who can sing comfortably and beautifully in six octaves, I'd sincerely like some links to watch them, because I don't know who they are.

Her manager was there with her, and recorded Dimash's performance of "Hello" on his phone. Her manager is Lionel Richie's son-in-law (married to Nicole Richie). Very quickly Dimash got a "cease and desist" order to never sing "Hello" again.

Believe it or not.....some of us have heard Dimash go much higher then in the Opera 2.... in concert while singing Unforgettable Day he does a full whistle extreme.... enjoy this great journey of Dimash.
I saw you watch SoS, one of the first times. I know the story about Vitas. He has one beautiful voice. Dimash has many. His range is 6 octaves plus one note. He was born with perfect pitch, and began his formal music training at 5. And has never stopped training; it's every day, at the least, 3 hours, sometimes 5. Before he sang Ogni Pietra, he had just under 6 octaves. In preparing for Ogni Pietra, he developed his lower register and achieved a total of 6 octaves plus one note. The song, Ogni Pietra, was written for him by Igor Krutoy, who came out of retirement to write for Dimash because the kid was running out of things appropriate to his abilities. Some of Krutoy's work is a bit dark and edgy. Anyway, Ogni Pietra was written for Dimash to sing in honor of Kazakhstan's independence from Russia (now about 23 years ago.) I believe the song is now a sort of national anthem, though most citizens wouldn't be able to sing it. I think I'll go watch it. Fan cam version is best.
dimash did not know his father was there and in the audience. they have a wonderful reunion and walk off together. one thing about dimash is family and community are so important to him. his 25th birthday this past May he spent in kind of like a nursing home in kazakhstan and sung for them. how beautiful. I don't know if you heard about an explosion that happened in kazakhstan a few months ago? it happened right before his concert and he donated some proceeds to the families.

Hey ! Yep a legendary performance from Dimash ! It's sad that he can't sing it anymore, I would loved to see this one live one day ^^' Anyway, yep,the notes are C6, C#6, D6, D#6, two semi-tones higher than Vitas. But, what makes this performance spectacular is his stage presnece, the way he arranged the song, the dynamics, and just the fun he had, you can feel it ^^
The people you see in the room are his contestants, they are well-known and professional chinese singers. The show is "The Singer" and it's a contest between thoses singers. It's 13 weeks of competition, Dimash did just so much amazing performances there. He was the only unknown, he was there as a wildcard, didn't knew a word of chinese (or english at that time), just came the first week, opened the show, sang SOS (the one you saw in first, in French) and won the episode. Then second week, this one Opera 2, not a big suprise but he won again the week ^^
If ou want to do other from The Singer, the third week is The Show Must Go On (from Queen), his english is not really good there, it was the first song in English he performed, and had 1 week for learning it but the performance is just epic ! th-cam.com/video/ul3kpE1qcow/w-d-xo.html

14 weeks....Dimash appeared in 13 episodes.....got bonus.....straight went into final episode.....skipping episode 11.
When you got out of your chair I almost fell out of mine laughing. Vitas' management company requested that he not sing this song again. His dad flew in and surprised him. He saw him in the wings as he was thanking the orchestra. Their reunion was very touching. The other people are the other competitors who do get to vote on who they thought did the best along with 500 audience members. Those members vote throughout the whole competition so you'll see the same faces over the length of the shows. I can't wait for your next reaction.

There's a reason Dimash was prohibited from ever singing this again, and also prohibited from ever singing his cover of Lionel Richie's "Hello" again too. As you say, there are some rare male vocalists who can reach the high notes of Dimash (though you're far from having heard his highest yet and I'm not aware of any who approach Dimash's D8 whistle note). But if you know of any who can sing comfortably and beautifully in six octaves, I'd sincerely like some links to watch them, because I don't know who they are.

@@kgem5621 The night that Dimash performed "Hello" as a guest performer, Jessie J was one of the contestants. Her manager was there with her, and recorded Dimash's performance of "Hello" on his phone. Her manager is Lionel Richie's son-in-law (married to Nicole Richie). Very quickly Dimash got a "cease and desist" order to never sing "Hello" again.
I didn't know about "Hello", do you have any source? The issue with Vitas is well known and there are online sources, but in a quick search nothing about Hello/Lionel Richie appears

Dimash outsang Vitas here.....that's why Vitas' team banned him from this song. He inserted staccatos and modulated 3 times higher than Vitas here. And his high notes are fuller and more stable......Vitas high note are more shrill......less full. Liked and subscribed. DKIFC/M'SIA

I saw you watch SoS, one of the first times. I know the story about Vitas. He has one beautiful voice. Dimash has many. His range is 6 octaves plus one note. He was born with perfect pitch, and began his formal music training at 5. And has never stopped training; it's every day, at the least, 3 hours, sometimes 5. Before he sang Ogni Pietra, he had just under 6 octaves. In preparing for Ogni Pietra, he developed his lower register and achieved a total of 6 octaves plus one note. The song, Ogni Pietra, was written for him by Igor Krutoy, who came out of retirement to write for Dimash because the kid was running out of things appropriate to his abilities. Some of Krutoy's work is a bit dark and edgy. Anyway, Ogni Pietra was written for Dimash to sing in honor of Kazakhstan's independence from Russia (now about 23 years ago.) I believe the song is now a sort of national anthem, though most citizens wouldn't be able to sing it. I think I'll go watch it. Fan cam version is best.
dimash did not know his father was there and in the audience. they have a wonderful reunion and walk off together. one thing about dimash is family and community are so important to him. his 25th birthday this past May he spent in kind of like a nursing home in kazakhstan and sung for them. how beautiful. I don't know if you heard about an explosion that happened in kazakhstan a few months ago? it happened right before his concert and he donated some proceeds to the families.
