    Great video, Ross! One thing that I struggle with is determining if a chart is 'too extended'. For example, during your morning show, I may see a stock starting to form a nice 1 minute pattern but then you mention that the 5 min chart is 'too extended'. What is your definition of 'too extended'? Do you base it off the 9ma, 20ma, vwap, or all? If you see a nice pattern forming, would you hesitate to take the trade if you believe it's too extended?

    • @DaytradeWarrior
      @DaytradeWarrior  2 ปีที่แล้ว +14

      Hey Brad, it is typically a combination of a few factors. There is no one indicator that Ross uses. A good rule of thumb that Ross uses is to focus on the first 2-3 breakout setups, after that the likelihood of the breakout working is lower.

    • @kristen7578
      @kristen7578 2 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      When the stock becomes too extended you will start noticing that the pullbacks are not as deep as they become shallower and choppier when nearing a reversal. I recommend using the 4+ the 8ema (5min.) , wait for the stock to close below the 8 or you could wait for the crossover. Once the 8 crosses over the 4ema, its usually a good indication of a pull back. If you look for shallower dips and watch those moving averages-both should help you gauge if ready to pullback/reverse. Those are my favs. Im just trying to give back ;) I hope it helps!

    Hey Ross, if the market makers are hunting your stop loss, why don't you just get them to hunt your stop and bring the price down over and over again, I wonder how low they will go over and over again just to hit your stop...
    You should just have a huge short position (through another broker), and then have the market maker chase your stops, over and over again, then after they keep going lower and lower, chasing stop after stop, you get the price low enough to cover your huge short position you created in your other account

  • @joeygarza9550
    @joeygarza9550 2 ปีที่แล้ว +2

    When i first started to day trade, i instinctively knew NOT to set stop-loss limits even though all the teachers, books, and channels advised me to do so "to mitigate risk". Which is understandable for beginners or those who lack basic insight, but for me mitigating risk _meant_ NOT setting up those stop-losses. It relieves me of anxiety (and gladdens my heart) to hear that you, as a professional, support this practice in your own trading.

    • @th3orist
      @th3orist 2 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      not having a stop loss puts you in the position to be tempted to hold losers for too long and also if there comes just some super unforeseen flush down that you can't possible predict then even being a half second too late on the exit button can mean a way bigger loss than if you had a stop loss set.
      just dont set the stop loss too tight, give the trade breating room but also set clear rules.
      that works for me best.
      after all, we must all find our strategy, not copying a certain one.
      as we are all different personalities, so are the strategies fitting certain personalities better than others.

    Hey Ross, love all your content. Has helped me a ton. I have been practicing in the simulator on Webull for 6 months. I manage risk fairly well at the moment. I average 7% daily when I trade in profit. 2% loss max on red days. I want to start with trading $100. I know I will not get a lot of practice only with 3 trades a week. Would you do this on TD Ameritrade, Webull, or Robinhood? I want to build up to a few thousand over the next year while I am still practicing before moving to a better trading system.

    • @DaytradeWarrior
      @DaytradeWarrior  2 ปีที่แล้ว +4

      Hey Logan, Thank you! As you know the United States has what's called the Pattern Day Trader (PDT) Rule. That means you need a minimum of $25,000 cash balance in your broker account in order to day trade more than 3x in a 5 day period. Since most traders take 3-5 trades per day, they are considered Pattern Day Traders. You can see some examples and in-depth explanation here: www.warriortrading.com/pattern-day-trader-rule/ and here th-cam.com/video/CDPxDCMHM10/w-d-xo.html
      Many of our new students don't have $25k. You can open a brokerage with as little as $500 at some places. Offshore brokerage CME Group is one of these brokers. TradeZero (non-U.S. students only, not eligible for Canadian students) requires a minimum of $1,000 to qualify for our rebate program ( www.warriortrading.com/tradezero-broker-rebate-program/ ) and Lightspeed requires $25,000 ( www.warriortrading.com/lightspeed-broker-rebate-program/ ). And of course, you have the option of a cash account at a US brokerage! Here's a helpful place to go to explore your options further: www.warriortrading.com/how-to-day-trade-without-25k/
      I hope that makes more sense!

    Nice vid, thank you. I also use an Anchored VWAP from the tops, when I see the candle closes above the AVWAP I know that the pullback is probably done, and I can take an entry

    Ross, I am just learning to trade and your videos are by far the best of anybody's out there. You have excellent communication skills. So thank you for your willingness to spend so much of your time and effort to share your knowledge (vary rare attribute in today's culture )! I do have a question. You mention looking for "good quality" setups before taking a trade. What are all of the factors you consider to make this determination about a stock? Do have another video on this?

    I think re-watching this video the 20th time was actually worth it. Not only I got lucky but by able to spot the pattern and go in early made me a lot today (e.g. YELL) I felt a lot of weakness in SNMP and somehow I almost got into it. I still need a lot of learning.

    Great video!! Thanks for sharing! Quick question, on the ACB example you mentioned the stacking of the sellers at 16.51 but you didn’t sell. Can you elaborate your thought process of seeing that stacking but holding through it? I really appreciate all of the content!

    Thank you so much for teaching the timing and exits, trading psychology and scalping. You show quite the discipline with entries and exits. After quietly watching and trying to day trade under restrictions, I was one of the 90%. Time will tell if I'm the 10% but I'll start with 1 week of green. I am not under day trade restrictions but trading "scared" not wanting to lose my day trade cash reserves (loan). I find it easier to exit a stock after 5-10 cent gains knowing I can rebuy when the setup is right. The bonus is when level 2 is still green and I can hold longer.

    Hey Ross, I know that you receive numerous requests for more instructional videos on how to day trade. I'm wondering if it isn't too much could you please recommend to a beginning day trader computers, monitors and possibly a solid internet provider? I know that you have already done one several years ago, I'm wondering if there is anything new that you would recommend. Thanks Ross. Your patience has to be legendary!
