Original Show: Better Call Saul - บันเทิง
I'm so relieved that you decided to share this series with us, instead of relegating it to Patreon like most reaction channels did when they went from BB to BCS.
what channels did that?
Agreed. I actually stopped watching a couple of reaction channels for this same reason. I got the impression that they didn't realize how popular the BB reactions would be so they decided to capitalize on that interest by continuing on to BCS but locking it behind a paywall. I mean I get it, it makes financial sense, but it struck me as a scummy thing to do. They can make whatever excuses they want (and some did), it strikes me as disrespectful to take advantage of your audience like that.
@@johnny-vu6rlI only know about Movies with Mary, she posted the first episodes in TH-cam and the rest was a patreon exclusive
I stopped watching her because of that.@@ProfesorMeistergeist
@@1trumantucker1 I didn't want to namedrop but yeah, that was one of the channels I was referring to as well. She seems like a sweetheart and I really enjoyed her reviews but I just didn't want to watch at that particular point. When she's done with BCS I'll probably check her out some more.
Again, she seems like a really nice person and her reactions felt very fun and natural - I'm just never going to pay to watch someone watch something, so if that's taking most of her time now I'll check back in when she's onto something else.
14:16 Saul kicking the trash can and Kim Wexler putting it back in its place, I never really realized it before but it's quite symbolic of their personalities and how they clash.
30:19 Good introduction to Nacho. He was able to quickly discern the lie, and it shows what a clever and level-headed character he is.
kim and jimmy have the best chemistry i’ve ever seen in a tv show, i can’t describe how much i appreciate them
I've never thought about that with the bin. That's so beautiful. Right from their "first" scene together. (I say in quotation marks because technically not the first, but it's the first where it's just the two of them).
@@alielvargas agree especially toward the end, it just show how powerful their bond is. bittersweet indeed
This show is a master class in the principle of "show, don't tell". It's also a master class in cinematography, you're going to see a lot of gratuitous wide shots.
'gratuitous wide shots' or gratuitous shots per se isn't what master cinematographers do now, is it?
@@helvete_ingres4717 That's an aspect of it, a good wide shot requires the aid of a good cinematographer, it's about shot composition, lighting, angles, etc...
Vicky: I didn’t think Jimmy had game.
Me: He convinced someone that he was Kevin Costner! If that isn’t game, I don’t know what is!
The funny thing is that V is going to see that very thing happen soon. :P
This show was completely snubbed by the Emmys. Rhea Seehorn deserved to win more than anything.
Everyone got snubbed. Rhea 100% defintely did yeah, but also Jonathan Banks not winning it for S1E6 and Bob Odenkirk not winning any across the whole show were CRIMINAL.
BCS joins The Wire, Peaky Blinders, The Leftovers, Always Sunny, and Twin Peaks as the dumbest Emmy snubs of all time. Yet, GOT S8 won Best Drama despite overwhelming public dislike. It's awesome BB won so many times, but don't let it distract from the fact the Emmy's clearly don't mean shit 😜
Perhaps some film lovers could get together and start the "Shit That's Actually Entertaining Awards" to compensate for this sort of thing. Hell, Alfred Hitchcock never won an award for best director. Good things rarely seem to get proper recognition from the industry.
Emmy's and Oscars are not about which shows the viewers like or which ones are the best. There are back room shady deals that happen and if you don't play their games, you won't win. Only executive types even care about these awards. Most of the public watch what they want, no matter who wins
@@oldaccount9563 Awards depend on lobby and buzz, and HBO spends a lot of money to turn their dramas into huge cultural events. Just check the drama nominees for the last Emmy: eight supporting actresses, six of them HBO (and five of them for the same show). Eight supporting actors, all of them HBO. There's no way that's fair.
Saul did say in Breaking Bad that the best case scenario was he would manage a Cinnabon in Omaha.
Well..close enough :D
Not the best idea when it comes to someone in hiding.
@@LordBaldur If the show took place 10 years later he could have got himself a nice little work from home job
@@winstonmarlowe5254Not necessarily that. If you're going into hiding, you wouldn't want to divulge where you are going to anyone. The vacuum man is only an exception because it's his job.
It was actually revealed that Jimmy's (Saul's) real name is McGill in his introductory episode in Breaking Bad.
"A fellow potato eater!"
The real names McGill, I just do the jew thing for the home boys who want a pipe hitting member of the tribe.
Super missable though (or perhaps I should say easily forgotten). It's a quick line of dialogue from a rapid-fire character during a series of events that seem more important than Saul will ever be. That said, you're still right. :)
"I just do the jew thing for the homeboys. They want a pipe-hitting member of the tribe, so to speak."
@@MiketheratguyMultimediareally when you think about it, it’s along the same lines as a couple of the characters that appear in this show being throwaway lines in BB
Jimmy will let you know when to call him Saul.
And oh boy... it'll be a WHILE
"Tiiiight! Tight-tight-tiiiight!" :)
I was looking forward to that reveal as soon as I saw she was reacting to BCS! Iconic moment!!! She saw the sleeves and knew it was him. Priceless.
That speech "You have meddled with the prime forces of nature." Is a quote from the movie "Network" which you should really watch. And I'm pretty sure "It's showtime." is from Beetlejuice.
"It's Showtime" is from "All that Jazz". Beetlejuice was probably also referencing that.
When Tuco opened the door, all I heard was Morgan Freeman's voice saying, "It was at this moment they realized that they had f-ed up."
Fun Fact: Club Soda doesn't help with Salsa Stains.
It does however help with Blood Stains.
Grandma is knowing what's going on!
she had 4 cartel sons, 5 cartel grandsons and 1 cartel great grandson. makes me wonder if hector's unnamed father was also part of the cartel
@@unclekarl5219Still can't wrap my head around the fact that a small, dainty woman was the ONLY person Hector salamanca, the man who would kill anyone, couldn't say no to
@@youknow227she definitely wielded a mean chancla back in the day
Craziest part about all of this, Walt killed all of them
@@Omardawood207 i am sure Walt didn‘t kill a Single Salamanca.
You’re definitely gonna love Better Call Saul, it’s one of the best prequels ever made, and I can’t wait for you to start the rest of the journey of this show
I don’t know if you noticed, but at the end of the black and white sequence, when he’s watching his own commercials, the tv is reflecting color in his glasses - a reflection of the (literally) colorful life he used to lead, compared to the dull one he is living now.
Holy! I have seen BCS more than Breaking Bad. Like, twice. And I somehow missed that.
Jimmy does the "primal forces of nature" speech the villain gives in the movie "Network"
- Also, V, don't worry about things not making sense. The show has your back, I promise. Rest assured that it won't leave you hanging forever (but maybe just for a while sometimes, lol). And the final thing - You like video games, well Nacho is played by Michael Mando, the primary antagonist of the (excellent) Far Cry 3.
I don't like the farcry games that much and Farcry 3 is on my top 5 games of all time lol.
@@Golgari213 I couldn't believe how fun FC3 was. I'd never played a free-roaming, open-world FPS sandbox game before. It was a great time. I know it's hated by a lot of people but I came to love FC5 even more.
@@MiketheratguyMultimedia those fucking Cassowarys, man...
Voluntarily lived like a founding father 😂😂😂😂😂😂😂
"This guys really wise, smart" hes definitely my favourite new character from better call Saul
The lady who plays Tuco's grandmother also played Tony Montana's mother in the movie "Scarface".
And Hector's and Don Eladio's actors were also in Scarface :D
BB is the Godfather and BCS is Part II. Two perfect series that are on a stratosphere of their and it’s all about what you prefer
Breaking Bad, Better Call Saul, and The Godfather
VKUNIA MY HEART RATE IS LINKED ONE TO ONE TO YOUR UPLOAD SCHEDULE, I **NEED** BETTER CALL SAUL REACTIONS
(YOUR CONTENT IS REALLY NICE BTW YOURE GENUINELY MY FAVOURITE REACTOR ON TH-cam :>)
I agree with what you say vkunia is awesome
This man died 3 hours ago because that heart rate/upload would be a zero after this.
I've seen a bunch of BCS reactions in my day, and not only are you 1) one of my absolute favorites, but 2) I've never watched one in order as the episodes released! This is gonna be an amazing journey.
"I just talked you down from a death sentence to six months' probation. I'm the BEST lawyer ever." Add it to the GOAT quote list.
Oh you're going to love this! It's slower paced than BB, but it picks up the more you watch on
I love the first look we get at Kim. You can sorta tell that she wants to smile, but they're all stuck in "serious lawyer mode."
Cucumber water for customer only!
C'mon lady, he pays rent! 😆
That car jump scare is the single most unprepared moment I've ever had. I love this show.
THE TIMING! I decided to search your name to see if you’d done a BCS reaction yet, and lo and behold, 2 minutes ago!!!
i knew you were searching so I had to upload it LMAO
Welcome to the start of something truely special. This show is so damn good, because it manages to captivate you just as much as Breaking Bad despite a slower pace and a way less intense plot (Most of the time at least. There's always gonna be the crazy moments like Tuco taking you out to the desert to kill you 10 minutes into the 2nd episode).
I am really excited to see you see more of Kim. She's one of the best written and performed female characters out there.
Also very excited for you to get to episode 6, Jonathan Banks gives an absolutely phenomenal performance in that episode.
So excited for this series!! Your BB reacts were amazing, and in my opinion, Better Call Saul is an even better show!! Thanks for everything you do V!!
I used to live in Santa Fe and Albuquerque area, and the first scenes of the mall had me laughing like "That's not Omaha, that's Cottonwood Mall in Albuquerque!"
There's a famous ceiling in that mall that has an upsidedown diorama/mural of the region and some wild sculptures all over it. Can't remember if BCS ever shows any of it in the flash-forwards, though
Dude yes! I live here, grew up here and I was like dude that’s cottonwood!
In the commentary for one of the episodes I think Vince Gilligan said that they had to put up a giant tarp or something to block one section of the mall to obscure it or make it less identifiable, something to that effect. I can't remember the specifics though, sadly.
Apparently Omaha's mall doesn't have a Cinnabon.
Recognized it right off the bat, jogging there on weekends. I joked "Apparently, Nebraska is a B&W version of NM."
Yooo im actually so excited for this
you're gonna love Nacho (the guy who was talking with Saul in his office at the end of episode 2) truely one of the greatest characters in this universe.
I’m very excited for you to now journey into Saul’s back story!!! imo; although the show might not be as thrilling as Breaking Bad, I think this a is a superior show.
I'm curious, why do you think so? While I feel that it sometimes matches it, and on a few occasions kind if surpasses it, I myself would never consider it to be the better show. I have no problem with anyone who does though, I'd just like to know why they feel that way.
Well one, I want to say thank you for being respectful with your questions; it’s not often that happens 😂 As for why think it’s better (without going into spoilers) I think it’s the character work with Jimmy/Saul. Since it’s a prequel, we all know where he is going to end up. Yet there are so many times, the show makes you forget about that, and you hope for a particular outcome for Jimmy; only for it to make him one step closer to being Saul. Plus the writing, cinematography, directing is all spectacular. It’s all the same crew from BB, and they’ve only gotten better with time.
@@edwardosquidawardo Ah yeah, I gotcha. I definitely feel the way you feel about the development of Saul with the way I feel about a certain other character ("well now Jimmy, did you go and put something in my pocket"?). I found that character to be amazingly well written, both sympathetic and hateable in equal measure. Easily one of my favorite characters in either series. If someone's answer for preferring BCS is that they felt the characters were written better, or developed better, I would agree that there's solid ground to make that argument.
Also totally agree with the production. The cinematography, the lighting, the montages (especially the final montage for the character I'm referring to - the one focusing on a house) are feature film quality.
And you're welcome, I know that civility isn't really what TH-cam is most famous for, lol.
Yeah, they're both so good. If BCS is a 10, then BB is a 9.9. It's the same people behind the scenes and they've just gotten better.
Man I'm so happy Vicky has finally released BCS for youtube but I need MORE 😭 when I first discovered this channel and her Breaking Bad reactions I got ADDICTED and literally binged the whole thing in like 3 days and with this I already feel the same. The wait is killing me lmao
Thank you so much for continuing with Better Call Saul. It’s a slow burn, but it is so rewarding!
The fact that if Abuelita didn’t went for a car ride that day the whole Breaking Bad universe wouldn’t exist
This series was solid. Definitely had its moments. Chucks condition gets explained throughout. Nacho is a good dude. He’s another character that was a lot of fun to watch grow throughout the series. All the best, V!
Love how this show sets the tone with the first court room scene. They make you feel one way for a character and immediately prove you wrong. It won't be the last time, but it will probably be the fastest flip. Looking forward to this series with ya.
BCS is better than Breaking Bad in many ways. Glad you're watching it.
I 100% agree and have been saying this for a long time
And in even more ways it is worse. But this is definitely going to be awesome.
I second that. No I third that! Though you have to see it after BB as the connection to the BB universe is important to help achieve the greatness.
@anthontcampbell97 are you restarted?
The only thing better in BCS than BB is that it doesn't have Skyler in it.
I was checking everyday hoping BCS wasn't a patreon exclusive.
Also that smoking scene in a parking lot straight up brought a tear in my eye.
Nacho is the best character
And Mike too
Thus begins the BEST spinoff series ever made, in my humble opinion.
You’re gonna love this show. It’s such a treat. It starts a little slow but once it gets going, buckle up!!
Oh man im glad you started this show. Once a certain character is introduced, it becomes one of the all time great shows.
LETS GOOOOOOOOOOO season 4-5-6 is peak television
Every season is great. They all are peak
When you’re done, everything will make sense.
Everything will be illuminated
I was so happy to see that you’re reacting to this show . I enjoy your videos so much and loved rewatching Breaking Bad with you. You’re going to love Better Call Saul 😃
All that Jazz - It's showtime folks.
DEFINITELY call him jimmy for as long as you can. This show, ultimately, is about "Jimmy," and it's very important to the symbolism of the show and seeing the transition of this man. I'm really excited to see your journey
Oh my God I'm so happy, I've been loving your reaction to this franchise and love that you decided to watch this amazing show
You are so not prepared for the awesomness that is Better Caul Saul!
ive found your channel when i was sick like a week ago and i fr cant stop wtaching your reactions, i love em🙏
Bob Odenkirk, Johnathon Banks, and Rhea Seahorn all should have won Emmys for this show. It's a crime that they didn't win a single Emmy, despite so many nominations.
You're in for a good ride lady. Season six is some of the best writing ever for a TV show!
Nacho played the main bad guy in Far Cry 3.
You are a true braking bad fan
@10:15 presumably, the reason he was working for those kids (as evidenced by him getting paid by the court) was that he was assigned the case. It's in the Miranda Rights. "If you cannot afford an attorney, one will be provided for you." Basically, those kids couldn't afford a lawyer, so the government assigned Saul to them, since you have the right to have an attorney in this country. And while there are cases where an attorney CAN refuse to work with a client, there are certain restrictions on when and how they can do this, lest they risk getting disbarred, so he probably didn't have much choice in defending them.
He is essentially working as a freelance public defender while he is trying to wrangle more prestigious (and wealthy) clients like the Kellermans. He thought he was going to get $2100 for defending the idiots.
Great catch on recognizing Tuco right away! The show's called Better Call Saul, I think it's fine calling him Jimmy or Saul
So wonderful you’re journeying into this! You’ve already picked up on it, but be mindful of the use of color - Vince Gilligan is brilliant with it in this entire series. For example, the door on his yellow car (an Esteem) is red for a reason: yellow is optimistic, but the splash of red is there to remind us that his past is sketchy✌🏻
Peter Gould is the mastermind of this series. Vince Gilligan was only involved in a handful of them.
So happy to start this journey with you V! You're gonna love it 😊
Your right winter in NYC now is practically spring
In my opinion this show is definitely better than Breaking Bad. I think Vince Gilligan and co really hit their stride, perfected their art, and it shows in the way this show is directed and framed, etc.
Ignacio Varga (Nacho) was one of my favorite characters in this show. The actor became well known from when he played one of the main villains from Far cry 3.
Mike and Kim Wexler, two of the best characters I've ever seen in a series
omg finalyyy I'm so excited!!
I love how you got so caught up in how Jimmy was able to make TUCO see reason, that you kinda forgot that the verdict was a broken leg each. Your face when you saw him snap the first one’s leg was like “OMG I FORGOT THAT THIS WAS THE DEAL!”
lol that mexican bald guy was the one who got killed in bb by tuco in junkyard when he brutally punched him.. she didn't realised that character
They really did a great job making Bob Odenkirk look younger in this first season.
He takes care more of himself and his health that's why he is looks good and younger
YESSS, so glad to watch this with you!
That garage shot first introducing kim and jimmy smoking, just the body language showing their relationship with no context, the lighting and blocking, its such an iconic shot
VKunia is off for another adventure😃
Just finished watching Better Call Saul and now I'm watching the reactions :D I hope you'll keep uploading these, this was so entertaining
Its gonna be hella fun watching you react to this show for the next couple months. I absolutely love this show. These first two episodes are extremely pivotal to the entire series and where it takes our characters. Hang on, it's gonna be a wild F****** ride
I'm glad you've started BCS! I'll be joining you on this journey!
When dude called Tuco's grandma "bizznatch" things got hella uncomfortable, hella quick.
Blood pressure was definitely elevated the first time i watched that scene.
I have been waiting for this! Here we go! You're in for a ride!
this is gonna be one hell of a ride, can’t wait!!!
I am so 😂 excited and happy for you and all of us who will be following you through this epic journey. What a series! Always love your reactions.
Don't worry, everyone goes through that "Should I call him Jimmy or Saul?" phase!
it's gonna be painful having to wait for your releases of Better Call Saul episodes, I would totally binge watch the whole show with you. Oh well, count me in! Awesome reaction, you really have an eye for photography, I am sure you'll love that show
Thank you so very much for sharing this on youtube and i will be watching every episode
This reaction was soo good! ❤
Good to highlight the directing and cinematography of the shots. They've had all of Breaking Bad to really grow into the visual style of that world, and because of this the whole look of BCS is on another level.
Great start, love it! You are amazing. 👌😊
INSTANT CLICK LETS GOOO
I LOVE that shout-out to the film Network that we saw at the 11:50 mark. The whole “you have MEDDLED with the PRIMAL FORCES of NATURE, Mr. Beale, and I won’t HAVE IT!” spiel. Legendary monologue.
After you finished El Camino, I have started re-watching Better Call Saul, I am in S2E4 😊
Nice! I just finished this a few months ago. Enjoyed it quite a bit. Looking forward to the rewatch with V!
So excited for this! My favorite part is the writing. I love how they drip-feed information, it works so well for this story. Looking good, V 😏 Everyone else here is too ✌️
Oh my god I am so excited that you have started this journey. You are in for an absolute treat.
Breaking bad is an all time classic. But it centered around walter white, who was a family man. Because of this, the first couple of seasons focused mostly on the family and the types of problems a family would have
- We don't have enough money
- The hot water heater doesn't work
- I hate my job
- My son is going through a rebellious phase
- Is my husband cheating on me?
You had to wait until season 3 to get the really interesting characters like Gustavo, Mike, Hector, and the rest of the cartel.
This show doesn't require any buildup. You get right into the interesting characters in the first episode. You also get a much better back story as it is a prequel.
You are in for 1 hell of a ride. Enjoy it!!!!
Keep in mind this new character played by Michael Mando, he is one of the best in this series
wow times passes so fast! it feels like you started breaking bad yesterday and now your starting better call Saul! love the reactions
I've been waiting for this!!!!
yess, this is a new journey with vkunia on this grim but entertaining world of BB and BCS
Saul Goodman is to Jimmy McGill as Heisenberg is to Walter White
33:26 that's the guy that Tuco killed at the scrapyard when he was talking and angered him
I absolutely love breaking bad but I appreciate better call saul so much more
"car salesman", you got me cracking up!
Whooooooaoaoa! Been waiting for this on TH-cam 💥🔥☄️
