Turbo doesn't really have anything to do with pops and bangs. To get a crackle tune like this, you typically just dump extra fuel in when off throttle so it explodes in the tailpipe instead of the engine.
Its can be 4 motion still, because 4 motion in VW cc and passat b6 its a haldex so if you unplug a wire which is under rear seat it will be only front wheels drive and its easier to dyno. It is a common way

If u wanna see i can send you a title of video on youtube from a poland channel which dyno a new vw arteon 4 motion with stock 320 hp engine and with chip almost 400 ;) And it was dyno only with fwd.

But then you cant put the 300 hp on the dyno on only front wheels
