Love this idea. Was actually telling my wife recently that they needed a subscription service for shoes because after upping my training mileage I feel like I am constantly shopping for shoes (every 2.5 months or so). Would love a subscription for two shoes (high stack soft and another for speed days). Definitely looking forward to checking these out!
Thank you for the comparison notes with the Saucony kinvara, that shoe is probably my all-time favorite comfort wise and to hear you say this feels like it but it's lighter, could be exactly what I'm looking for!
Every time I watch this channel, I crank up the volume to the max and still feel like I am going deaf. That said, thanks guys for bringing out Michael to talk about his product. I will have to check them out.
One might say that I'm absolutely intrigued... been googling what I could on this shoe. Heard they run a half size small (based on 2 other reviews)? Just wanting to get a sense of what size to order on that preorder date. Good luck with the whole thing!
The interview talks about them working on a shoe for VenniRayy (Rachel Baptista), who is an over-pronator / stability-shoe runner, so that should be up next from them.
The cool thing about this video is that we are offered a glimpse into a discussion that happens at all running shoe design studios and finance departments each year, but can we never hear due to patent/IP/secrecy limitations. Michael is offering total transparency. His corporate lawyer, if he had one sitting there, would be cringing.
Sounds dangerously close to throwaway / fast fashion. Should we not be making shoes that last as long as possible? Maybe use TPU that maintains it's qualities longer?.. Or make shoes that can be easily recycled?
I just ordered a pair of Kinvara 10, wish I waited. Perfect stack height for me. I signed up for the email list. @ 5.5 oz. I hope this company makes it. Confused If you want a new shoe every 3 months do you automatically get another shoe They look like a good toebox and flexible Thumbs up
At 150 miles before replacement this would cost me 300 Bucks (4 shoes @ 75 bucks) compared to 130 Bucks for my Pegasus Turbo for 600 miles (still good sole and no breakdown of mid sole).
@@gabegd23 I refer you to the respected shoe reviewer "Sole Review www.solereview.com/nike-zoom-pegasus-35-turbo-review/" They calculate an average expected wear life of 450 miles and an upper limit of 600 miles; which i hit; looks like you are on the lower limit but consistent with projections! So the economics are still better for you by 20 Bucks to go Nike and no way can this Atreyu compete on Material Science with Nike now (they are the best in the world!) - i have the same result with the Volmero - as you can see the review is outstanding for sole robustness and is conistent with my feedback :"The Pegasus 35 Turbo is surprisingly durable. Initially, we assumed that the thin rubber outsole will be quick to shred, but that didn’t happen. Over time, we’ve realized that the outsole lifespan has as much to do with the design and layout rather than just the lug thickness or material (eg. Continental rubber) alone. The Turbo’s outsole is thin and flexible. This allows it to flex along with the soft midsole during landings and transitions and doesn’t take a direct hit from daily abuse. Nike_Pegasus_Turbo_creases Midsole creasing (refer image above) happens fairly early in the ownership stage. Once you acquire the creases, it stays that way and does not influence the performance of the Zoom X foam. Unlike Lunarlon, both the React and Zoom X are durable compounds. In over 100 miles, we haven’t perceived any degradation in the midsole performance. The faux-Ortholite removable insole will gradually begin to compact after a couple of hundred miles."

Craig T Smith These are more comparable to the New Balance Beacon as a lightweight racing shoe that should only last 250-300 miles. Pegasus are an everyday trainer but are meant to last +400 miles of training.
@@XavierV37 The Pegasus works very well as a racer - i do track workouts in mine and they are fast - I run track for 400 and 800.Bottom line - if i had to commit to one shoe - it would be a Pegaus Turbo not a Atreyu - much better value
Afraid you don’t know the new rules about prototypes. Any shoe can be used at the Olympic Trials, which are in 3 weeks. The Olympics is a different story.
It could for the right audience. There are a lot of runners who have a favorite shoe and stick with it for years, so I would think it all depends on how frequent you can set the subscription up for and if you can pause it during times when you're not training as hard.
I will support this company. I applaud his courage for stepping into the ring.

WOW! Great interview ! "get the BS off the shoe' refreshing to hear, Fresh Shoes, we need to all realize that they are consumables!
I love the stripped down shoe concept, the customizing, the subscription and the recycling. All together ... Great!

Turn it up to 11!
Courageous and disruptive business model. I love it!
Yep, I'm staying up tonight to get a pair of these!
Very interesting approach. I like when someone go deep into exploring a topic/issue. Great job!
The actor of Harry Potter, Daniel Radcliffe, is making running shoes. By the way, the running shoes are looking like Newton.
Luiz Claudio Vieira accio! 😂🤣😅
It reminds me of the Nike Mayfly.
LOVE them colors, and the white version I've seen from other reviewers. It looks like a Razor 3, which I also love, does it feel similar?

Eddie Song he updated this issue on his IG story, they shifted the size chart so it now runs TTS instead of .5 small, hope this helps
love the custom and love the recycle program
i am big on little reflectors for late runs after work or in winter!
Outstanding. Looking forward to being part of this.
This is and awesome idea! Will there be a stability option for us normal people?

Atreyu is the main character in Michale Ende's Never ending story novel.... Does the shoe relates to it? Great Show... Thanks
this is so awsome. and good to see a shoe that is not a 10-12mm drop
volume is way low
Is there a trail version?
This is there only model currently.
Looks somewhat similar to the Nike Lunaracer. Hope Nike bring it back...
Just signed up for the email list!

Eric Petersen hahaha true.
Does Dan Jacobs approve?

I believe that you can send your shoes back to them and they recycle and send them to people in need.
V'ge r from Star Trek!
Definitely picking up a pair of these.
i like it!
Seems very similar to the good old Lunaracer
I absolutely want a pair of these 👍
Same. I've been burning a ton of miles lately, and the subscription idea is just perfect.
Carbon foot print compared to other shoes?
Go bearfoot dude,stop farting.

Wow, my Turbos were totally shot by 300 miles. Foam was flat and the black rubber was worn through. Can't imagine trying to run in them for 600 miles!

not with THAT attitude ! lol
I don't know. $75/ 6 weeks looks a lot better than $130-150/ 6 weeks from here...
