I use this tube buffer with my SS amp (Pioneer VSX 9900s) to feed my XTF-8 , the buffer and a pair of good tube together cost just 60$ , I get unbeliveable soundstage and seperation and a glimse of tube sound.
I have bought these Speakers after watching your videos they sound absolutely fantastic and I think they're extraordinary Speakers for the Price .... I have one question regarding the down-firing ports on these Speakers when I put my hand in the ports I can feel some kind of soft filling like foam or sponge but its inside the port .... Is that normal or Can I remove it as it is inside the cabinet so I don't think its a speaker bung ... ?
PUREMOODS hey there. I removed them because i founded the bass very off. After removing and a 2 weeks playing they really came to live. Best “budget” speakers ever

Need serious help please. How would these or the XT6 stack up against Dyn Excite X38 for mixed use HT/music? Are the Tannoy’s more open, dynamic, & lively? I know their sensitivity is slightly better. Currently I have X18’s for fronts & surrounds and was planning on switching them out to floorstanders [X38] for a more enveloping & immersive sound... but I’m finding myself really enjoying these Tannoys as well. Thx for any help.
See if you can go hear them side by side or at least in person. If you love Tannoy's try to keep saving for the big boys. There is a big difference.these are very nice, but the top end is a challenge of you are not a fan of a very crisp high end. It can get hard on the ears to some, as your other choice to compare. If you find you dont want to wait and save, Id go with the 8s, Tannoy isTannoy , you can trade up later. You wont go any other way once they have stolen your heart.
It seemed like not all models for the same brand are of the same quality. These ones are awesome, but the bookshelf Tannoys I purchased had quality issues, like distortion on higher vol. Good thing the ones I bought weren't as expensive as these. I guess its the same with all other brands. You have to buy the more expensive models to get quality.

Excellent! I got my XT8Fs yesterday. I am extremely happy with them. Way better than my Bowers and Wilkins 684 (older non-S2) speakers they are replacing. I have auditioned far more expensive speakers but these are so sweet sounding, even straight out of the box. I like wine with my late night listening!
Definitely hear the the ssssss being emphasis with the tannoys.. it’s nothing in my system which I was trying to get rid of .. it’s the speakers characteristic
Coming from B&W and having compared these to thr new 700 series, I can say these Tannoys do not emphasise the s. B&W however... do. I pair three tannoy with an NAD amp

Cos'è? comunque correggo un errore. il mio ampli addirittura ha 35w non 45. io ascolto da un dac economico che esce usb dal pc e entra rca e a volte collego ipad o cellulare p10lite con minijack a rca dietro al luxman. e tutte queste entrate sono abbastanza alte da farmi tenere il volume a circa il 37%

Hello! I've never listen to the 6F, but consider that the 8F could be over-emphasized in bass and midbass region in a medium-size room like yours. If i was in you, i would go with the 6F ;-)
Why do they always play such undemanding music when they audition loudspeakers, its almost as if they are picking the music to suit the loudspeakers qualities.
Gerald Greene Not at all. I noted a particular ability of this speaker to convert the hard sibilance in some recording in a much more sweet and enjoyable “sshhh” sound. Not so many speakers are good with bad recordings and absolutely gorgoeus with better recordings

Gerald Greene Maybe some absorbing furniture could help. However sibilance is something that speaker produces or not produces. We had bad experiences with tidal and sibilances in our showroom. For example: Rebecca Pidgeon - Spanish Harlem. This is a worldwide reference audiophile track. On standard cd it sounds so smooth... on tidal lot of sibilances. Unpleasant. If i was in you i will follow these simple steps: - choose a bad sibilant song - listen to this song on tidal and on standard cd. If cd sounds smooth you found the cause! If not, try these budget tweaks: - less toe-in of the speakers - change speakers cables for standard cheap copper cables - ask to a friend to lend his amplifier (maybe a NAD...) When the worst sibilance song will sound slightly better, every other song will sound fantastic! And sibilance will be no more noticeable on 99% of recordings. I am sure you will solve the problem without unwanted furniture in your house ;-)

I have mine with a NAD amp and the same. Sit down and put the system on blows me away every time.
@@simullane7836 I was using a Proton amp, was great, but with the Hegel it is a huge difference. Now I am thinking trying it with a tube amp

I had no idea Tannoy sounded so good! They were never on my wish list - but are now!!!
Not all Tannoys are good. These ones are, its important to test the product for a given time to gauge the quality.

kentss kentar in a 40m2 room i would go for the 8fs. Bass in 6fs are lower in quantity, not in quality, extension is pretty much the same

How much better are the XT8fs compared with the XT6fs? I'm having a bit of a dilemma which ones to go for, as my room is a quite modest 4m x 8m.

I've got the xt6f's, with a Rel sub. They play music well, jazz to whatever.
