    I’ve been contemplating this for a long time now. This video definitely has convinced me to follow through on my intuition. Especially since your curls are still there and thriving. That was my fear. I love my curls during the summer, but having my hair straight is easier for my length retention, scalp health, and my schedule. Thank you for this video and the product inserts.

      @@earthangel6858 It's going fine. I used way too much heat just starting out but I learned that you have to slowly heat train your hair over time and it doesn't happen overnight well at least for me. Also you have to really learn and work with your hair to find what works and what doesn't in terms of tools, temperature of tools, products, etc.

    I just gave up on the wash and go deal.
    It’s not for my hair. I have at least three types of hair on my head.
    My routine is now to deep condition weekly with the old time goody , avocado, mayo, eggs, grape seed oil. Seal it with Argan oil. Roller set and dry in the hooded dryer. Comb it out and put it in a high bun without putting tension on it.
    I’m staying away from the blow dryer and flat iron. My ends suffer with heat.
    At night I massage my scalp with Argan oil and put in a bun, sleep with satin cap or pillow case.
    It was exhausting seeing my hair grow Only to be cut off due to the heat damage. The pain of detangling was crazy when I would go curly. Too much to handle. I’m sticking to old school.

It takes me an ungodly amount of time so I just rollerset sometimes. Also what is your secret to retaining length without wearing it up? Ppl are always screaming "protect those ends, tuck em in, never show them, ect, ect." Is it maybe bc your hair is so long that doesn't rub up against your shoulders? I like to wear my hair down as my go to style. I like buns too, but I don't wanna feel like I HAVE to wear them everyday in order to not be bald.

    • @penniesavage2430

      Mo'Love2you thank you so much!!! Girl, I did not grow all this hair to tuck it away 😂 I just make sure to keep my ends sealed really well, sleep on satin, and trim every other month. Since I wear it down when it’s not in my scarf, when I do get split ends they spread FAST. So I make sure to trim them often. Not a full cut, but definitely a good trim. And it takes me a while to dry, too 😫

    I'm sure people ask you this a lot, why choose to be a straight natural and not just relax your hair, so you can have it permanently straight.
    I watched your video on why you choose to your hair straight and understand, wanted to know your thoughts on relaxing your hair to keep it straight.
    Is it better to constantly use heat with a heat protectant to straighten your hair than to chemically straighten your hair? Does it do less damage than relaxers?

    • @TaeKat
      @TaeKat 3 ปีที่แล้ว +11

      Well she still has curl in her hair so it gives her the option to do a curly style if she so pleases. Seems like the better option to me.

      It's hard for a lot of type 4 girls to see growth with relaxers because it causes a lot of breakage...plus you don't have the versatility. Also chemicals aren't good for your health.

    • @cfoster6804
      @cfoster6804 3 ปีที่แล้ว

      You have to use heat with relaxers anyway to get hair this straight. May as well cut out the chemicals.

    • @Mskyraelise
      @Mskyraelise 2 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      Relaxers have chemicals which can be dangerous and just not healthy on your scalp. A straight natural can enjoy curly styles and straight hair. Also, straight naturals usually have a silkier finish and more movement with a silk press than those with relaxers. Most of the people I see with relaxers have stiffer hair in my opinion.

      Hi! Thanks so much for watching! It sounds like your hair may be dry and taking damage. I will tell you this. I was a straight natural for years too, two different times and eventually the damage really caught up to me both times. The thing was I was straightening WEEKLY. That is WAY too much. If you are doing weekly that may be why you are having problems. The most successful regular heat users I've observed through the years use it MONTHLY.
