Quick tip: The tick from sacrifice and the swing cost from bloodstained blade is magic dmg, hence it is blocked by eldritch shield. Try it in solo or 2's insanely busted build.
Ive tried this, putting on a person who uses a Rapier makes the shield deplete like immediately because of how fast they swing haha. Like the damage boost its good but once the shield depletes they eat through their own HP so fast that you have to constantly re apply the shield. I didnt wanna bother doing that, BUT its a way you can definitely play around if you plan on being a buff bot.

great moves man. one thing I noticed is you almost never get into melee and just use the curse of pain ticks. Didn't know it could do that much damage tbh. One thing I'd recommend is putting pain on mobs during fights if you know you're gonna be in close with people, the insane healing from having 4 curses up at once makes you almost impossible to kill. great vid!
I love running bolt of darkness because the projectile is basically invisible and silent to the point that I’ve thrown 3 or 4 at people and they didn’t even know they were being attacked until eventually 1 headshot them and killed them
This choice might be confusing to some people because it is, It doesn't make sense because of the lack of synergy between shield and hellfire. But I am a hellfire gamer. So I still recommend that people run bolt of darkness OVER Hellfire. But for me hellfire is where its at, Its not optimal but its fun for me, I do a lot of highly predictive plays and hellfire lets me zone the enemy squad 10 seconds before the fight even officially starts and puts them in a weird spot by the time I push. If I was try harding deluxe Id run Bolt so I could snipe people left right center like I do with my fireball sniping on wizard.
Needed to show people what gets us killed, It really is just complacency and overconfidence. We kept ourselves as grounded as possible throughout the run, Never underestimating our opponents and just playing our best. Most geared people just W key and hope the gear diff is all they need. Can't do that as a Warlock or a bard.
@@kazaren That is true, especially with bard and warlock you can outplay overconfidence with ranged zoning. Back when bard was op me and my group would win fights against geared people by just kiting and using ranged
I really want to see you try out flamewalker. I'm curious if you can get it to work. You don't seem to rely on that fifth spell a whole lot, so I think it's worth a shot lol
As I mentioned on the intro. Its not a good spell for ruins. On crypts it would be turbo good. Ill make a follow up on trio. Tight spaces is where hellfire is king. Area denial and zone control deluxe. Not much of that is possible for ruins its so an open map, hence making bolt a better option. Flame walker could work really well on crypts I imagine will give it a good go for next upload.

When would you take BoC over Phantomize? I run phantomize most of the time for escaping and playing aggresively but I tried BoC recently and it's nice threatening squishies in melee range if you have a decent weapon.
In the current patch, I think running Warlock as a caster is a more worthwhile option compared to being melee, You have SO much more options now compared to before as a caster. If you ran this build with BoC instead you HAVE to be ON POINT with your positioning, Like you have to do everything perfect, If you mess up positioning wise you will go down, With phantomize you can afford to be sloppy with your positioning and get out of situations you otherwise couldn't without it. And in this game you don't always have all the info, You could be doing everything perfect but then all of the sudden you get third partied out of nowhere from where you least expect it and you just die, Was it your fault? Not really, Maybe you could've scouted for more teams around you before engaging? With phantomize you can relax more and go way deeper while still being able to leave at the press of a button. I will say with Rogues being viable again, Having BoC will let you 1 tap them if they jump you, So there are advantages to running that over phantomize, Phantomizing from a geared Rogue can be hard as they have very high movement speed so outrunning them is often not an option, Unless you have mobs and things to bodyblock the Rogue from catching up to you. In the fight at 17:57 The barbarian was SUPER kitted, He used his buffs and ran at me, I used phantomize and waited for his buffs to run out and was able to engage on him again when his speed and all other buffs was down. If I tried to BoC him there I would've 200% died.
No one else to blame but yourself is how we both think so we make a pretty good duo. If you saw how I died, All I could've done to prevent that was literally just looking down a few more degrees down to see that I was running into a Rogue. I was running down thinking the Rogue was still on the surface so I didnt pitch my camera down. Despite the call out from him saying that a Rogue is following him down, I didnt hear it because the other Rogue was on my ass and I didnt process it.
I know you said in your guide that you should have 2-3 magical healing before running hydra, but if you have the magical healing, but not enough knowledge to unlock eldritch shield as the 5th spell, is that spell setup still worth running? I'm sure the hydra plays still work fine, but is missing out on the magical shield a big disadvantage? Great vid btw, always love seeing warlock in a duo/trio. I definitely go to your vids to see how i can play warlock with my friends so i can have an impact in our fights.
The build works without the shield, BUT, a big BUT. The shield is what allows you to fight Wizards and caster clerics due to the shield absorbing magic damage. So you WANNA avoid spell casters when you dont have shield. But once you do you can run over the spell casters just fine. So thats what youre missing out on when you dont have the shield unlocked. EDIT : A fighters biggest weakness is magic damage, If you have the shield you can make them truly unkillable, High PDR plus your shield constantly being re-applied and you have a raid boss that nothing can actually stop. Another edit : Correction, The shield makes you AND everyone in your team unkillable by magic as long as you have line of sight and is within range of your teammate to cast the shield on, Thats one of the ways you can make yourself useful in a trio.

@@WorldofSoupS Every time I hear a cleric buffing up in the distance or when I hear a wizard charging a spell, I immediately cast the shield, Look at 5:37 I casted shield a millisecond before his fireball directly hits me, 40 of the damage got absorbed by the shield and broke it, I immediately re-casted it again to absorb the SECOND fireball and took no damage since it wasn't a direct body hit.
@@kazaren I also saw that the shield boosts dark damage if it pops, but since you use hellfire instead of bolt of darkness you can't take advantage of the bonus damage. If you were running bolt, would you be casting that as the bubble pops or reapplying bubble to stay protected when fighting wizard? I noticed at 14:22 during your fight with the cleric, you reapplied shield, but would you be casting bolt if you had it equipped? IDK if that sounds weird and if so sorry, but im not sure when to be casting BoD over CoP besides the obvious long range situations, or for eldritch shield bonus damage.
For this particular set up, Im mainly a caster, I only bring the falchion out for a finish. It also doesn't slow me down 2 much -25 speed. If you want to be more melee oriented I recommend the long sword because of the parry / riposte mechanic. The long sword is a better choice overall because it lets you make a comeback by hitting a parry. The falchion doesn't have that. Its up to you what you feel you're best with. But for min maxing purposes the long sword is always a better option since it can do more.
at 11:31 dont you take increased magical damage whilst in that phantom form? shouldnt you have been able to cast your spell on him without waiting for it to wear off?

I don’t mean to call you out here but maybe it’s a good opportunity for me to learn: but if you put on the will perk it raises it by 10% and 10% of 30 is 3 so it should only have gone up to 33 not 35 at around 15:00 am I missing something? Also shift right click drops items from your inventory you don’t need to drag them one by one. Sorry for the unsolicited advice as I’m sure you were just dragging to read the attributes or something but I’m saying this in case you or others didn’t know
As a warlock competing in high roller, I dunno if curse mastery is worth it. It's literally 2 extra ticks. There's higher performing perks. Soul Collector is great when combined with eldritch shield pop
I think it's worth it in the high end. Two ticks for me is half my health. While two ticks on lower end gear not so much. There's optimization to be done depending on what gear you're on for sure.
@@kazaren I have +15 healing and vampirism. Having 2 perks dedicated to healing isn't worth it. The extra 30% from soul collector and 10% dark magic damage all adds up pretty big. Especially when stacked with an eldritch shield pop.
@@jossiwales Too situational for my taste. I like my buffs and perks to be active when the situation calls for it. But theoretical damage output is higher with your set up but executing said moves and timing spells for a shield pop isn't practical. But I respect the build. It definitely takes more brain CPU to run Id love to see a video with your set up. For most people I think my set up is easier to use and start with, Less complexities tends to make it easier to play.
Do you think curse mastery is better than dark enchantment? If so why I’ve been debating on which I want to run permanently it seems like dark enchantment is just great for initial damage where as curse mastery is good for after burn damage which is why I prefer dark enchantment but would like to know your thoughts or anyone in the comments.
Follow up. Curse mastery extended ticks has saved me so many times throughout the vid because of how much health I get per tick of healing. I say it's worth it on higher end gear. While on lower end gear run dark enchantment.
He uses curse of pain and sacrifice on it to heal himself as it works like any other npc. Not only does he get the health back from what he used to cast the hydra but with enough magical healing he gets a generous surplus of healing.
I explained in the intro why, I run hellfire because I like it, and its funnier to kill people with it. Bolt is WAY better for PvP, If I did run bolt I'd be running over people even harder than I already do.
You barely used sacrifice, which is fine, but when you have so much magical healing and even curse mastery, maybe sacrifice is a bit overkill, and could swap it out. Or I'd figure you could be a lot braver with applying sacrifice since you can mitigate missing, unless you're afraid of the strength boost
I try to apply it on an enemy that isnt melee oriented. I like casting it on wizards because it makes them unable to use invis for the next 12 seconds. I however try to avoid casting it on a melee that is pushing me because of the health / damage boost. I will cast it on someone running away because they wont be a threat to me anymore. Its very situational.
I only cast sacrifice on someone that isnt running towards me, Or a wizard or spell casters because they wont benefit from the physical damage boost. Or I apply it on someone that is running away from me for the extra dot damage. I will however NOT cast it on a barbarian / fighter that is RUNNING at me. Only when they are running away.

I was running literally the same setup, exactly the same started with DR and then swapped once my Will was abit high, we played (me and 2 buddys) warlock/ranger/cleric and didn't die a single time in 2days, so now my warlock has like a full stash of purples and i don't really know what to do with it lol

Are all Cleric’s damaging spells doing holy damage? I thought eldritch shield didn’t protect from holy damage?

Take hydra, Taking shield later is basically you reaching full build.

If so why I’ve been debating on which I want to run permanently it seems like dark enchantment is just great for initial damage where as curse mastery is good for after burn damage which is why I prefer dark enchantment but would like to know your thoughts or anyone in the comments.
dark enchantment only works for bolt of darkness and the shadow beam. Two spells that Im not running.
Follow up. Curse mastery extended ticks has saved me so many times throughout the vid because of how much health I get per tick of healing. I say it's worth it on higher end gear. While on lower end gear run dark enchantment.

He uses curse of pain and sacrifice on it to heal himself as it works like any other npc. Not only does he get the health back from what he used to cast the hydra but with enough magical healing he gets a generous surplus of healing.
I cast hydra for 15 hp. I cast curses on it and i get like 80 hp back. Basically that.

I explained in the intro why, I run hellfire because I like it, and its funnier to kill people with it. Bolt is WAY better for PvP, If I did run bolt I'd be running over people even harder than I already do.
You barely used sacrifice, which is fine, but when you have so much magical healing and even curse mastery, maybe sacrifice is a bit overkill, and could swap it out. Or I'd figure you could be a lot braver with applying sacrifice since you can mitigate missing, unless you're afraid of the strength boost
I try to apply it on an enemy that isnt melee oriented. I like casting it on wizards because it makes them unable to use invis for the next 12 seconds. I however try to avoid casting it on a melee that is pushing me because of the health / damage boost. I will cast it on someone running away because they wont be a threat to me anymore. Its very situational.
Is it bad to use curse of sacrifice in pvp? I only see him use curse of pain on players
I only cast sacrifice on someone that isnt running towards me, Or a wizard or spell casters because they wont benefit from the physical damage boost. Or I apply it on someone that is running away from me for the extra dot damage. I will however NOT cast it on a barbarian / fighter that is RUNNING at me. Only when they are running away.

I was running literally the same setup, exactly the same started with DR and then swapped once my Will was abit high, we played (me and 2 buddys) warlock/ranger/cleric and didn't die a single time in 2days, so now my warlock has like a full stash of purples and i don't really know what to do with it lol
Make a second / Third / forth Warlock for stashing purposes , Highly recommend
