At 5:09 you placed the three tools directly on the counter! Is that normal procedure? I would think it goes directly from the holder to the tray to keep it all clean. Other than that I think you did a good job showing your day st work. 🙂

Yes, if your practice has 2 sides, a clean side and a dirty side. The counter behind me is the dirty counter and the counter I use when placing instruments to the tray is the clean side, that entire side and counter stays clean always

If I wanted to help put braces on, could I do that by being an orthodontist hygienist?

How much money do you make an hour, is $20 a reasonable starting price to ask for? I want to get into ortho, I’m almost done with school & have internships coming up.

Congratulations! That’s awesome. 🥰 So I always tell people to look up the average pay of an orthodontic assistant in your area because every state pays different and from there ask for about 1-2$ more than the average. Like any job they will probably offer you 1-2$ less than what you ask for so you want to always ask for more than what you actually want!
I started off making the average pay in my state and am currently making a little more than the average now.

@@CanYouFeelThePowells so you started off higher than what they actually paid beginners is what you’re saying? So you’re telling me to go about 22 dollars an hour?

@@sarahcantswim4918 no I started off making the average. Now that I’ve been working awhile I make more than the average.
If the average in your state is $20 I would ask for $22 in hopes that they will pay you $20. I’ve been working for awhile and jobs always offer you less than what you ask for. So always try to ask for more than what you really want in hopes that you will get the amount you actually want. Hope this makes sense.
