Very nicely done sir, as always. A pleasure to meet you too at the SVR Spring Gala I think it was. I was a TTI and you bought a lamp. Can’t remember if I’ve already lift a comment on such but, yes, very nice to have met you. Clear, crisp audio and visuals - excellent. Cheers and keep up the great work - Alex
The sheer quality of these videos is self evident for all to see and it is the wonderful backdrop photography that provides that extra dimension. The point I want to draw attention to is that the way things are going that very idyllic scene will probably disappear in the next ten or fifteen years in the pursuit to Net Zero by 2050. Large swaithes of the countryside will be given over to solar panels, wind turbines and the construction of new towns and cities to accommodate the rest of the world that is increasingly making its way here each year. In the meantime, there will be blackouts as electricity is rationed followed by food shortages.
As always, thanks for posting another scenickly interesting & steamy video! Love your short scenes of various botanicals & stuff. An observation by a Yank: The proper lubrication, maintenance, and repairs on a locomotive having Cylinders & Valve Motion in-between the frameplates surely must be a humongous p.i.t.a.?? ;-)
Many thanks, Ken. I'm glad yourself and others enjoy the "b-roll", despite push back from some individuals about it which is all very tiring. As for oiling and the like on inside cylinder locos, it certainly is a lot more awkward. I think I'm right in saying Great Western types are known to be particularly difficult in that regard!
Again, a high quality production. Unusual to see the mixed train with the passenger car up against the loco instead of the tank wagon being first. I travelled on this line in 2023: it wasn't the most scenic one on my trip from Australia, but nonetheless worth doing.
One thing I don't like: being teased with boring old scenery. I prefer to see steamies in action straight away, pardon my being picky. How many GWR tank engines are preserved altogether? You can't count 5193, because she's now a 2-6-0 Mogul tender engine, no. 9351.

Many thanks, Alex. Glad you enjoyed it 😄 Doesn't sound like it was me you met at the SVR, though 😅

I mean, it's just how he and other channels do things. I think it's quite effective, if you don't like it just skip over it.
Scenery shots… for want of a better expression… set the scene. Plus, you can’t have trains without scenery
