      Russia, China, and the US only had a very limited nuclear exchange with each other. Resulting in surprisingly limited irradiated hellscapes. These account for the the general exlusion zone for S.T.A.L.K.E.R, Metro, etc... As well as effecting parts of the Mojave and "Old DC" in the US, where most of Fallout takes place. Everyone else carried on with life and just assumes there's nothing left living in these isolated areas. The characters of these respective games are just mistaken about it being a global apocalypse and the few who've wandered far enough to learn of the true minor nature of these disasters rarely return to inform the continuous residents. I mean... would YOU willingly return to a post-apocalyptic area/life again after successfully escaping from it?

    If you're looking a substance/mineral/herb/something-or-other that can do all the things mentioned (miraculous healing, creating mutants, being extremely volatile, etc) and can basically be described as "it does whatever the writers need it to be able to do for the current plot", I'd suggest Tiberium, from the Command & Conquer mainline series. It's a glowing green crystal of mysterious origin that self-replicates and, again, has the power to do whatever the writer needs it to be able to do for the current plot.
    Bonus: the villain of the series is called Kane, he lives in Eastern Europe, and he seems to have mysterious otherworldly powers. Secretly a vampire? Secretly (or maybe not-so-secretly) the same person as Kain? Could be!

      @SoldierDelta 3 หลายเดือนก่อน +7

      @@comet-fy6pd Thankfully there's a lot of sci-fi stories that can allow the existence of alternate versions of the same earth with minor or major discrepancies. Zero Escape, Xeno, hell even the Shin Megami Tensei series including Persona 3, 4 and 5 all count as titles that could solve these problems. Zero Escape solves the "multiple realities and psychics" problem with the existence of Espers, Xenosaga and Blade both allow for a whole bunch of shenanigans about worlds and AI creations and SMT just allow for the existence of doomed earths and even Persona 3 hints at the potential of creation alternate worlds or world-shaking aspects.
      In theory the answer can be "Yes we can fit all of them" however there will be a lot of contradictions depending on the series or game. Half Life 2 is a pretty notable example of these kinds of problems because the game directly states a population-wiping alien invasion happens in the early 21st century. The only explanation for something like that is that a Zero Escape psychic is able to prevent the HL1 resonance cascade.

      In a way, I think this would make sense for the everything-crossover, cos some games seemingly take place in the same area(s) so it would only make sense for them to be separated by time.
      And for the whole Pokemon thing, it would make sense for it to be post-post apocalyptic, like you said animals and humans seemingly living together in peace and harmony.

Notably almost every pokemon region has a local, or semi local pokeball factory, so maybe pokemon training is mostly localized to the few locations that those factories are profitable.
      also, technically, normal animals aren't originally videogame characters and thus don't exist... that's to much of a stretch nevermind.

    Where would Arstotzka be? Gives me eastern European vibes, but it also has decently large access to the waters around it. Turkey maybe? Or maybe Bulgaria? Maybe Romania? Ukraine could work too?
    And we should definitely have a future time-line as well because New Mombasa from HALO 3 would lose us about half of Africa due to glassing.
    The amount of destruction and chaos from modern games like DMC 5 essentially destroying all of London with the Qliphoth tree and Just Cause leaves a lot of easy space for games like Sim City and House Flipper to come in to fix the chaos. Why is Racoon City still on the map in the middle of, Idunno, let's just say South Dakota after getting fire-bombed because of all that zombie business that broke out for a minute? Because someone with a lot of time and government funding rebuilt it as a city planner. They'd have too, you couldn't let something as historic as the entire city of London just stop existing? So Pokemon actually helps bridge the gap between the fantasy setting and the modern setting quite nicely. For starters, Pokemon hasn't taken place in Japan for a long time (gens 1-4 are Japan, gen 5 is New York, gen 6 is France, gen 7 is Hawaii, gen 8 is Britain, and gen 9 is Spain) so if you implement Pokemon it has to be essentially everywhere. However, having Pokemon everywhere allows us to say that the dragons and magic of the past eventually became the Pokemon of the present in much the same way that the dinosaurs of the past eventually became the birds of the present.

    I love the idea of stitching video game worlds together to create one big connected universe. Even if it doesn’t make much sense.
    In my headcanon all the Ubisoft games take place in the same timeline. An idea tentatively supported by Far Cry 3 (which has a bonus mission where you explore an Abstergo facility), Far Cry 6 (you can discover some broken Hidden Blades), Watch Dogs (one bonus mission lets you assassinate a character from AC4) and Watch Dogs Legion (DLC let’s you literally recruit an Assassin).
    I will admit Far Cry 5 makes connecting things difficult.

    • @LurkinHandworker
      @LurkinHandworker 3 หลายเดือนก่อน +4

      I thought about that too.
      Let's say they are not in chronological order.
      All the Assassin's Creed Animus plot is definitely set in ye olden times, that's easy. We can kinda add there a bit from Far Cry 4 about the mythological tibetan hero, right? That's about the "bleeding effect" and how your ancestors memory may act when you don't have a nifty sci-fi bed and cool helmet.
      And Far Cry Primal is definitely prehistoric. No doubt about that.
      OK, so in Assassin's Creed Valhalla the plot point is "the end of the world", the phones act up and there is constantly no signal. Like the point in Far Cry 5 about why Hope County could not act against the Seed family! And why would Aiden Pierce, Jordi and all other recurring characters from Watch_Dogs move from US to Britain? Cause there is nuclear apocalypse happening!
      That's just something from the top of the head
      Like Yahtz said, this is fun!

    Just some ideas:
    - Certain humans can undergo a variety of different Pokémon evolutions by giving them special items (somewhat like Eevee). Humans given Rayacite Fragments/Ray Spheres (inFAMOUS) evolve into Conduits of varying type, while humans given Psitanium/Ancient Arrowheads (Psychonauts) evolve into Psychics.
    - On the subject of the Psychonauts, Ness from Earthbound would have likely gotten the attention of the Psychonauts after stopping Giygas, which means Raz probably would have gotten the chance to explore Ness' mental world, Magicant.
    - Hi-Fi Rush takes place on an island that I'd place somewhere around Seattle (Bainbridge Island, maybe?), since the game is themed around 90s-2000s rock music, and the Seattle sound was a big influence on that era of rock music. Additionally, given their interest in sentient robots and transhumanism, it's possible Vandelay Robotics created the omnics from Overwatch.
    - V1 from Ultrakill was one of Doctor Light's robot masters, designed as a demon-culling robot. It's sister robot, V2, was reprogrammed by Dr. Wily, which is why it's so hellbent on killing V1. Additionally, given Doctor Light's expertise at creating robots with realistic human faces, it's possible he also created the Androids from Detroit: Become Human.
    - Speaking of, Dr. Wily wasn't the only one plagiarizing Dr. Light's homework-- Dr. Bosconovitch from Tekken and Dr. Henry Emily from Five Nights at Freddy's also took more than a few cues from Dr. Light's machines. (Alternatively, Dr. Bosconovitch from Tekken is Dr. Wily's distant relative-- they do have a close resemblance.)
    - The killer from Hatred was a huge fan of Jacket from Hotline Miami.

So, any games with talking animals can be included with this scheme, under the assumption that they’re just on another of this world’s many islands.
    As for Sonic itself, South Island, Angel Island, and the others could probably replace some of the Caribbean Islands. Oh, and Westopolis can be Detroit. It wasn’t the Black Arms invasion that caused all the damage, it was just already like that.

    Gen 6 was set in France, complete with its own Eiffel Tower knockoff.

The first of each tells of the formation or recreation of “The G.A.M.E.” to face a threat, each book having a different foe that would match the time period AND would be a big bad from a particular game.
    Like a coalition of Kratos, the Dragonborn, Zelda, and some others for the past, Gordon Freeman, Lara Croft and her rival Nathan, Sonic and some others for the present and Master Cheif, Doomslayer, samus Aran, a vault dweller and some other for the future. Again, just as examples.
