Anyone else notice that the prize music sounds a bit different in these early episodes? Sounds more orchestrated than synthesized (You can clearly hear the saxophone that's playing).
Lol Dave Meltzer gave this show 1 star after he lost at the end (anyone who follows pro wrestling gets the reference). Those of you who don’t, he wound up going on after this to become the most prominent journalist in the world of professional wrestling.
Also figure it’s a new show (if you don’t count Second Chance), so many of the habits and calls and such aren’t ingrained into the culture of the show. Also wouldn’t surprise me if many of these people that were on in the first few weeks had some kind of time on camera before, and probably took sort of casting calls when Carruthers and CBS needed contestants for their new show. Once it had a few weeks on air and other people got to watch, sign up, and come to Television City, we start to see the people who are more excited to get in front of the camera and what not.

These early episodes really do have a different feel to them. The show certainly does have yet to hit its stride. Its still entertaining though.

These early episodes are far more sedate, with quiet contestants. "Big bucks no Whammies STOP!"
