You can get yourself the 1st gen SE which literally shares the similar body to an Iphone 5s, but has 3 generations ahead of Components, and it's still a great phone to use in 2024, it's latest ios version is currently at ios 15, which is still a minimum ios to run everything

My first phone was a 5s, then a 8, then a 13.
The second iPhone I owned and it was such an upgrade over the 4 that was old and one that my dad used which was on its last legs. I remember being so amazed at finding out features like Low Power Mode and how much better the battery life was in comparison to the 4 I owned. I felt really happy when I found out about a fingerprint scan since at the time I got this phone in December 2015 I didn’t really know about the technology back then.
I bought mine at launch day, still have and still use it as a secondary phone for my other number. Design wise it has been my favorite. You can still jailbreak it and add a few more things to it.
5S is so damn beautiful. Miss the design so much. Only thing missing is 3D touch.
I miss my iPhone 5s, I broke her screen trying to put on a screen protector. It still works, to this day, but I have to turn it sideways. My phone from 2017-2020. 32gb and space gray.

The screen was cracked towards the bottom, it was my grammas before it was mine. She turned it sideways to work. I played around with it, and it became my phone eventually. Phone had a weird battery problem too, not sure if that was caused by dropping it.

I use my iPhone with a special lens clip for macro photography and landscapes.
As someone with smaller hands this phone was the perfect 👌 size in my opinion.
How are people still using it? No carrier accepts it and won't activate it. Might as well use a SE 1st generation, same body.

I have an iphone 5s, I still use it for as long as I can years if it lasts
I think there's a few things you should add. The real issue with this phone is battery life and expectations. If you have a decent battery and go through the settings, it is a very viable alternative to a feature phone (use without data), either for someone doing a digital detox, or who needs little else. A refurb with a good battery would be worth 60 - 70 eu, but one with a bad battery would be almost worthless due to the cost of fixing. I have just bought a 2016 design SE refurb, which shares the excellent form factor and that is a very viable light use smartphone - ideal as a work phone (not so keen on Apples for personal use, though).
I actually miss this body style of iPhone 😢. I have the 15 pro, but I honestly hope they bring back this body style 😏😏😏

I have one in near mint condition which I bought for £40 in 2024.
It’s actually pretty good.
I had a 5g Google pixel 5, but got fed up of all the notifications and there is no 5g where I live.
For the price of a New, basic Nokia 110, I have a pretty decent IPhone.
It’s still ok for most of the Apps I use. I use banking apps and News etc and they work fine.
TH-cam works fine, as I am replying to this video with the phone.
Love the design and until 5g gets better coverage, I will keep this phone and make use of the Cash I got for the Google Pixel 5.

iPhone 5s lacks voLTE which makes a lot of carries not support it, but with some unlocked carriers the phone may actually work, it still supports a lot of apps, the speaker quality is decent, the 5s is still pretty usable in 2024.

just get an SE 2020, you can pick one up for 130 bucks and it can get all the newest updates.
