So many memories with this release. I remember being super excited seeing the promos on TV. I had already gone through and worn out 4 or 5 copies of the 1995 VHS, so it finally coming to DVD was great news.
I still remember going to Shoppers Drug Mart to get my copy on release day. The menus are perfect, Plenty of great bonus features, and the Disney Enhanced Home Theater Mix on this release is IMO the best sounding audio mix we've gotten for the film's home releases, which makes sense, as it was based off the newly mixed DTS track for the IMAX release. I also have the Gift Set, which came with the Special Edition as well as a book and some signed sketches.
Thanks for putting everything together into one video, brings some great memories! Can't believe that was all 20 years ago :')

Childhood memories
I’m sure it was a great time for us both to have our own time and a little bit of a break from work. We were able to get some of our own special edition of The Lion King for the first week. It is so nice 😊 and I am very excited to see the new edition coming out this week too.
It's weird that this version of the movie had the morning report song scene were Simba chases after a gopher (instead of a bug) and sings along with Zazu

I still after all these years until now at 18 years old have a DVD of the lion king just like what this video represents, my DVD of the lion king has the exact same trailers of movies it shows about and everything just like in this video. Except the Sleeping Beauty and Mary Poppins trailers, I don't think my version has those things. Also, that thing that showed in 12:25-14:30, I don't think I have access to that, not at all.
That thing at 12:25 is called a THX Optimizer.
