Ever see a headline that you just HAVE TO CLICK - only to find out you’ve been completely misled, manipulated or downright duped?
Yes, that douchey copywriting I am talking about is clickbait.
You don’t have to be a copywriter or marketer to know what clickbait is.
Typically, we think of it as hyperbolic, overly sensational or unbelievable content that makes us desperately want to click to satisfy our curiosity.
But - wait.
Isn’t that kind of the point of copywriting? To get attention and encourage visitors to click on your link?
Well, yes and no.

🤔 click bait that annoys me are things like, worlds greatest...... and it never is or you’ll never guess what these 80s child actors do now! but its that long since i click on these things as i know its disappointment or millions of pages and adds to get the info you wanted:(

I launched a campaign at the company I work at, that needed colaboration from others, but that hasn't been much involvement. How can I fet more attention? Get people to help more? Ps.: English is not my 1st language, ignore any errors. Copy is not a part of my work, but it was required and it was hard for me. I have a very academic writing
I have written a few articles that I was worried would come off as “clickbait”. But being in the niche of dog training and scientific study of canine behavior I feel I need to spice it up a bit to get viewers. All of my articles are filled with information to help my audience though...so guessing that would be “catchy hook”? The titles are relevant to the article but can be a bit far fetched sometimes...
It’s a fine line but if you’re delivering value you’re good!
Hey Alex, what do you think about a hook that leads to a salesletter where you have to buy the product to get the answer to the hook?
Sounds like a page with a high bounce rate.
@@peteraudu4554 - They're pages with high conversion rates. The best selling programs in my industry do this.
Hey Matt - I know exactly the offer(s) you’re referring to and I don’t love it. High-conversion on the front-end at the detriment of customer lifetime value. Also would love to see the refund rates.
Also I really believe the market is becoming less tolerant of this sort of marketing - along with fake names, personas and stories.
I’ll add to that that I think there’s a way to close part of the loop in the sales page, but open a new one that gives people a reason to buy. Rather than using the same hook of “3 magic words” (as an example) on the ad, landing page and VSL. Only to discover - there are no 3 magic words! 🤮

Hey Alex, I'm a beginner and I've been trying to write my first copy as a practice during lockdown. The problem is, I get super nervous when I sit down to write. What's worse is that when I think that one day m copy will be displayed to hundreds or even thousands on a web page one day brings sweat on my forehead. What advice would you give to someone like me?
It will get easier and easier. Just keep writing and remember no one will see your first few pieces, and it will get easier and easier. ❤️

don't be a piece of shit and lie and mislead when its your job to report? Idk, seems pretty straightforward to me. But so many people do it now, we just stopped considering that as the egregious offense it should be.
