Bells 6, 8, and 10 are seen here being raised prior to the commencement of ringing at Hereford Cathedral. Note the wooden shafted clapper on the tenor.
I'm shocked that anyone would be up there as bells are being rung up especially without hearing protection and serious hearing protection at that! The man who isn't even putting his hands over his ears has probably done some serious damage to his hearing.... Madness! I learned to ring ringing these bells and it took two heavy ringers to pull the tenor up. One thing that used to worry me was when you sat out whilst others were ringing and felt the whole tower shake side to side!
@@connorbaisa1653 I was multiple times in more bell chambers when some bells rang and I didn't wore ear protection. Nothing happened to me😎. Still now I'm fine
Sounded like the star wars theme at the start. Yes Lord Vader!
why have you called yourself stuckintraffic?getabike just totally random and yes it does sound like it at the start.
@@fredmills368 I'm a major advocate for cycling in the cities to alleviate traffic. Cities having cathedrals and those having bells etc etc.
@anonmonen it's not at all noticeable outside, but last time I rang at the Cath i don't remember it at all so perhaps it's now been adjusted.
@BristolVRchap very nice sounding.
The clapper bounces when ringing the tenor
