Ben, What kind of work do you do? Crawler track loaders used to be how they tore down alot of buildings. The loaders were equiped with 4-1buckets. But they didn't used to sort the materials like they do now.
Nice to see a smaller one at work, although he filled that first lorry in only 3 and a half buckets. I do think that first truck could have backed a bit further down, - I liked the 'workman' who went past on a bike, is that the new 'eco friendly' means of transport for sites now.?
They could do with giving our lot over here some of them, if you saw the number of small trucks that clutter up some of our 'building sites' the foremen use you would be surprized. Then they park them in a line on site at night and go home in their own cars, - total waste.
That Ben is something called 'common sense' - something sadly lacking nowadays over here. My son-in-law drives a Volvo fitted with a 'sweeper body' on contract hire to a lot of these sites, and he has just finished converting their entire loft in their house into 2 very nice sized rooms complete with windows and staircase. Every solitary item came out of 'skips' on these sites - (he asked first if he could have them of course), - all brand new, - no wonder new houses cost so much nowadays. He didn't have them as he didn't need them, but 2 skips contained on one site had about 1500 bricks in them as they were the wrong colour, - it was cheaper, (they said) to dump them rather than return them. As he said to me the other day, given about 18 months he could have built their own house. He has had so much stuff offered to him on these sites he doesn't know why they bother with a fence and a 'security guard' it would be cheaper to let local people take what they don't want rather than pay for lots of 'skips'. The waste honestly Ben is disgusting.
Hier wurde kein Kalk beigemischt. Das ist Mischmaterial. Das Gelände war einst eine Flussaue und morastig und wurde mit Bauschutt im 19. Jahrhundert aufgefüllt, bevor man dort einen Bahnhof bauen konnte.
