Honestly, I feel that that Gavin tree death wasn't entirely his fault. The tree fell over, but the animation makes it bounce once before stopping. Since he's used to vanilla Minecraft, he probably wasn't thinking about it, and walked into it while the animation was still playing. Even though the tree was on the ground at that point, since the animation was still playing, it counted it as "killed by falling tree".
So yeah, hysterical that it happened at that exact moment, but any one of them could have made the same mistake in his place. Of course, only Geoff got killed by a falling tree after Gavin, so that does throw a wrench into my idea a bit...
