The most endearing episode in my opinion was when Endora, Hagatha and Enchantra tried to make her earthbound, and she explained to Samantha that she got rid of the court session because it would mean trouble for Samantha with Darrin. Gets me every time. 😢
I imagine, that except for being a bit befuddled at times, that Ms Lorne was somewhat like Aunt Clara in real life.

Yes, Aunt Clara was my favorite character on bewitched because she was so much like my own grandmother who I loved dearly....so endearing & sweet!💕😊💞
I like the underlying message of Aunt Clara. You might be old, powers dwindling, but by golly you're family and we'll always love you and make you know you're worthwhile.
Clara has to be one of the most beloved Television characters of all time. No one in their right mind could not just fall in love with her!

Aunt Clara was hard to dislike. She was a sweet careless witch who got into to mischief. Uncle Arthur and Clara were the best.
She wasn't careless and she didn't try to get into mischief her magic mistakes were supposed to be similar to an elderly person with dementia as she gets older she forgets her spells and how to do things like go through walls and fly much like how a person with dementia gets easily confused about the simplest of things

The fascination with the doorknob was that the actress collected them in real life (and on the show)
I read somewhere that they used some of her collection in the show.
I didn't know about the history of the doorknobs. I thought she was trying to see if it was one of her relatives.

Yes. Aunt Clara was the only character on the show from Sam’s family that the character Darrin liked. In real life Dick York (1st Darrin) and Agnes Moorehead (Endora)!were friends.

I always loved Aunt Clara. The actress passed away and she was missed. I had heard that she was very much her character but without the OFF magic. I always wanted a hug from Aunt Clara. Even Dick York could not be too upset with her.
I just adored Aunt Clara when I was a kid. She's just so sweet. Hard to believe this was acting in character, she made it so real.

Aunt Clara and Uncle Arthur, both entertaining.
There's one sequence in there that's a real hoot. Aunt Clara is baby sitting another boy whom - shall we say - is a bit rambunctious. He has a water pistol and is preparing to shoot Aunt Clara. Clara is reading and pretending not to notice, but we can tell she knows everything. Finally, the kid aims and fires, only to have the gun explode right back in his face. To which Aunt Clara says: "See what happens when your naughty!" Just goes to show you that Aunt Clara may have been befuddled a lot of times, but she really knew the score when it counted.
I love that her magic works well here for the most part. Such a nice change. You can tell she loves to make people happy.

This is one of my favorite Aunt Clara episodes! She’s a genuinely kind, sweet person, and getting to see her become a big success as a babysitter (and be appreciated for what her powers could still do, as opposed to feeling bad about what they couldn’t) is so heartwarming. Great actress. I used to watch Bewitched when I was a kid and she used to really make me laugh. Anyone who can make people laugh is very gifted and should be thought of as a treasure. Her character of Aunt Clara was brilliant. One of the people I would love to have a conversation with, I bet she could tell a few great stories.
Aunt Clara did usualy bungle her spells but it was part of her charm and she was harmless and unlike Endora wasn't vindictive. She may have frustrated Darin at times but he would have much prefered her as his mother in law

Her turquoise eyeshadow and auburn hair coloring hints at Endora. Siblings often have quite contrasting personalities.
She is supposedly very old, she could likely be Samantha's great-aunt.
Seems a "thank you" from the mother (or anyone) would have been nice to the woman watching her kid so she can go out to dinner, but I guess "I'll get our coats" works, too.

It always made me sad when Darrin would yell at aunt Clara she didn't mean to make mistakes she was just getting old how you can be mad at such a sweet old woman like Clara I don't know she was an absolute doll of a character and even when Darrin would yell at her she never yelled back or got argumentative Darrin could be an absolute jerk at times I can understand Endora sometimes she would mess with him completely unprompted and on purpose but not Aunt Clara
