As an educator myself I believe the voting apathy of the youth is the fault of the education system. WE don't teach the fine details of government. I.e. affect of local government on THEIR lives. I don't know enough about the details MYSELF. AND We should Make this education MANDATORY
I also teach and I made a point to teach my child and my nieces/nephews about the importance of voting, no matter who your candidate maybe ( now don’t get me wrong I definitely point out everything Trump does or has ever done that I find out) as far as I know everyone of them are democrats but we definitely discuss more politics than most people do with there kids.

He had to have hip replacement surgery and needed the other one done but lost his job then caught Covid. 57:26 It makes me so angry that we lost him when there was no reason🤬
This generation really puts too much pressure on themselves. I’m early Gen X and I didn’t own my first cheap condo until I was 36. Nobody has to own a house in their 20s.

Been spending happy time with my hearts delight special girls who call me Nana! 🥰💜💞 Haven't been able to catch live shows and likely won't for three more weeks.
The kids today don't understand that a lot of us Boomers couldn't afford to buy a home either. The interest rate back then was 16% or more. I never could afford to go to school after high school and women couldn't get loans then. If your parents couldn't afford it or you didn't get a scholarship or grant, you didn't get to go. I started working at 14 and hoping to save enough. I didn't have kids either as there wasn't any extra $ and kids cost a lot to raise, even back then. I have a lot of friends n relatives that were and are in the same boat. So, you aren't alone. Each generation has their own hill to climb to get what they think is normal and think the previous generation had it easier. The only reason my grandparents had a 3 bedroom 1 bath 945 sf home is because my Grandfather built it with his own 2 hands. They never could afford a car. My Mom wore the same skirt and blouse everyday for Jr. High and High School. Hand washed and ironed every night as no W/D. Every house had a garden in their backyard and fruit trees. Some days, only had one meal. Between the great depression and WWII, times were extremely hard. All necessities were rationed and acquired with ration stamps. Families lived together in one house to save on heat and utilities. So I feel very fortunate that I faired better on day to day life. So, before you think you have it rough, think again. Imagine growing up in a shared home, slept on floor, only had one outfit, shoes, coat, hat, gloves, handwash clothes, only a radio, no TV, computer, smartphone, no vehicle, food was scarce, you walked everywhere, no extra $ for anything. No parties, movies, entertainment, shopping, presents. For Christmas, you got an orange. Worked after school. So I feel fortunate I had what had, even though $ was tight. Most of the time, I worked 2 or 3 jobs at a time, but feel fortunate I had the opportunity.
Please reassure Americans that the rest of the world are exactly in the same boat or worse economy wise. Australians are living with the same lack of rental properties and high rents, those who have mortgages live in fear of rate rises. Same price of food issues as well. I'm pretty sure the UK are the same. This is not US only problem. Please don't blame Biden, focus on what he is doing to support you all through this time
Nope. Interesting conversation about this I just heard re: the founding fathers and the separation of church and state. They were highly anti-Catholic as most were fleeing religious persecution (they were a lot of Protestants and of course, Puritans). They didn’t want Catholicism becoming what it was in the UK, hence the separation. That could be why there was such a hullabaloo over Kennedy being elected which seems insane now. Concerning the young men voting, I think they harbor a lot of resentment towards young women. Because this generation of men is having a harder time attracting women for relationships . Frankly the men feel too entitled to women. So voting against women’s issues makes these men feel like they have some power. They resent women having autonomy. Women should take note snd come out in force to protect their rights.
