I'd say just be excited that if all goes well, you'll be driving on your own and will never have to pay for another lesson. typically it takes 2 tries to pass soo just approaching with a carefree attitude is all I can recommend. its impossible to not be nervous, some examiners are very picky and give serious faults when a minor could be given, look ahead but deal with what's needed of you immediately before you let your thoughts wonder. pretty much everyone thinks they've failed their practical test during it, its just how we think nothing wrong with it. being "confident" isn't ideal, just be aware of your weaknesses and focus on making sure they don't show. I passed over 2 years ago with 3 minors as well, 2 for speeding at 31mph for a second, and 1 for losing 2nd gear on a steep hill. I had a good examiner who always looked me dead in the face whenever I needed to do something like check a mirror. overall the atmosphere of a test differs for us all, and our ability to function under pressure also differs from person to person. for those people; they will feel better after taking the test a few times. some people just aren't meant to drive on the road.

But also remember that you're still learning, and that you will continue to learn even years after passing your test (even I'm still learning). You don't actually learn to drive until passing your test. It's amazing how easy driving becomes when you've got that bit of experience under your belt, I never have to consciously think about what gear I'm in, when to check mirrors, when to take gaps at junctions - they are all skills that I've gained; through practice. You too will gain the experience, just don't start driving with the mindset of - 'I have a full licence now, therefore I know everything', the driving test is just the start of it believe me. Keep safe out there guys, I wish a future of safe driving for you.

Passed on 30th June, just forgot to post it! These videos paired with the ultimate driving course saved me time on my lessons since I didn't have to waste time going through explainatiions as much as well as having an idea of how to approach different scenarios ahead of time, the course is so cheap when you think of the time saved in lessons! Would not have been as prepared without Pin!

These videos are so unbelievably helpful. Just had a mock test yesterday where I failed with 3 minors and 1 major, which I got because I grazed the kerb at 40mph. As I changed gears my right hand moved slightly. Still a massive improvement, as before the mock test I was terrible with observations, almost never checked mirrors, but your videos helped me get that straightened out!

for most countries, it's a year, but the UK also has agreements with some countries and if you passed your test in one of these countries, you can just exchange your license for a UK one

Had a 2 week intensive course booked. 2 days in had to be cancelled due to instructor catching covid. Insured myself on a family members car and learned in that for the rest of the 2 weeks. Correct me if I'm wrong but on one my driving lessons about 2 years ago the lights changed to amber I was going to accelerate through on amber but thought better of it so I braked quite sharpish and my driving instructor at the time said, don't hesitate you were breaking then decided you were going to go for it but then decided against it, the front wheels of the car ended just on the stop line at the lights and I asked if I'd have gone through on red would he have got the points or me on my provisional? and he said essentially its down to me as I'm the person in charge of the car and if he was to take the points its essentially illegal. I'm pleased to say I passed my driving test in May 2019 and haven't had any issues since I no longer hesitate and no longer attempt to go through on amber unless I'm practically on top of the stop line but I think it comes with experience and you get better at judging scenarios with time.
I asked my instructor what would happen if I were caught speeding on a lesson, and he said we would both get the points. Yes, you have control of the car, but he also has control too, so he can slow/stop the car if needed. I would say the instructor has overall responsibility.

So isn't it just easier for the silver car to slow down rather than you so you can be on your way and not cause confusion with the black car going straight since the silver driver should be looking for people turning and stop? My instructor always drove home after my tests. Not sure why, but I think it’s because, pass or fail, your brain is so NOT in a good space for driving. When I failed I was pissed off and he would spend the drive pointing out why it was just bad luck and not my skill (one dumb fault each time kept catching me out 3 times in a row). When I passed, I was super excited and wanted to talk about it/text people/read my faults (because I’d been too excited to ask what they were at the end of the test lol).
My instructor says I must come to a complete stop at the give-way line and do my observations before turning left or right even if I see that the way is clear on approach to a juction but @ 10:25 you say it's a minor fault to do so?
It depends how clear the road is that you're turning into, and whether you're turning left or right. If turning right, it makes sense to come to a complete stop since the road has to be clear of traffic both ways, and there are more observations than turning left. If you've got a good view, you can just edge forward as you're doing observations.
Once you pass your not legally insured to drive your instructors car with your new license that's why they drive you home Couldn't tell you why after you fail
Can anyone help me please? - So, I’ve passed my test in an automatic, I’m looking to purchase a VW golf, it’s ‘semi automatic’, I’ve read that, it’s essentially the same as an automatic but you have an option to drive manually (without clutch) using the switch stick… is there much difference between both auto’s and semi autos, or does a semi auto do exactly what an auto can do, but more? THANKS!!!
There's not a huge difference. If you manually change the gears in a semi automatic its usually smoother and more fuel efficient. You can still drive it as a full automatic though so best of both worlds.
You’re only allowed to use the auto features so an auto might be cheaper, I’m pretty sure you don’t have cover on your license for the manual features, but if that’s the car you want go for it!

Can anyone help me please? - So, I’ve passed my test in an automatic, I’m looking to purchase a VW golf, it’s ‘semi automatic’, I’ve read that, it’s essentially the same as an automatic but you have an option to drive manually (without clutch) using the switch stick… is there much difference between both auto’s and semi autos, or does a semi auto do exactly what an auto can do, but more? THANKS!!!
There's not a huge difference. If you manually change the gears in a semi automatic its usually smoother and more fuel efficient. You can still drive it as a full automatic though so best of both worlds.
As long as it doesn’t have a clutch pedal then you’re fine. If it has a clutch pedal then no you cannot drive it on an automatic license x
Semi auto is just like auto but with that extra function. I passed in an auto and drive semi auto now. I just never use the manual gear function

You’re only allowed to use the auto features so an auto might be cheaper, I’m pretty sure you don’t have cover on your license for the manual features, but if that’s the car you want go for it!

Is there a reason why in UK only the red light of the section for turning right does have a direction arrow?
Because we drive on the left so it needs to be filtered sometimes, we don’t need it on the left because it’s not as dangerous
Sometimes there's a direction arrow pointing straighforward too but yes mostly for turns

@@phoebesmith8154 Button can also be used when engaging the handbrake to avoid the noise but it's not a fault either way
